Not even that; spliting them up and making for some real (and challenging) exploration would've made this a damn good game.
Though, I'd want it to be a family affair, imagine a story line where they were battling over who got to be the human Pathfinder after your father's death
Or how about incorporating something that happened in the Milky Way and making it effect the story
so many lost opportunities to make a real game than this Kid's Bop version of Mass Effect

After Saren, Shepherd never has a rival. That harbinger shyt was dumb as hell so manufacture something out of nothing you end up with space ninja to get that narrative response back
I'll always admit to the flaws in the Mass Effect story. I think the lore carried the plot a lot of times.
They were basically trying to convert a story made for a RPG to one for an action game.
The Harbinger shyt is weird. They would've been better off making Shepard's rival an Alliance solider looking to arrest him after siding with Cereberus.
The Alliance knew Shepard was alive and was like
even with you walking all over the Citadel. Just one scene of Ashley/Kaiden being mad at you.

So I finally cracked this open this weekend. I only got @ 20 minutes of play time in so far, but it seems like that has been mostly cutscenes. Looking forward to actually getting into the game. Maybe some more playing time tonight.
