That song is better than Dā€™evils? REGRETS?!!? In what world bro?

Lol, nah, I respect your opinion, 24 hours is a classic posse record and was on fire. Itā€™s justā€¦them two records I mentioned are two of the greatest rap songs ever imho of course, theyā€™re not even comparable records to me. 24 is dopeā€¦Regrets is a damn tear jerker, pause lol

Agreed 100%

I respect everyoneā€™s opinion, but posts like that are why I feel itā€™s pointless to argue with most people on here. Songs like Dā€™Evils, Can I Live, Feelinā€™ It, and Regrets (my fav Hov song since 96) speak to me on a different level than just being another dope song.

The fact that u think this way proved heā€™s underrated. Ma$e is literally the reason Bad Boy had success after Biggie.

We are seeing in real time how social media has broken people. Bc why are you replying with an answer that has nothing to do with the question :what:The Age of Spin

-Is the sky blue or red?
-Red is an amazing color I donā€™t even know why youā€™d hate like that

:why:

Lol mase made puff

sad-tupac-sigh-aa3kmvfqcuw6lyx2.gif

Yā€™all get into ā€˜win the debateā€™ mode and just say anything

ā€˜I was Murda, P Diddy made me prettyā€™

The aesthetic, the subject matter, the ready-made hits with 70s/80s samples, all that was Puff. He saw how they broke Big with Juicy and Big Poppaā€”- sampling preexisting classic melodiesā€”-and had hitmen do the same, sample the biggest 70s/80s tracks. You coulda put daffy duck in Maseā€™s place and he woulda been a star

I always thought Harlem World album cover was done on a $100 budget. Mase on one knee in front of a baby blue backdrop throwing up the duece and the big ass ā€œMā€on top of the word ā€œHarlem Worldā€ looks so cheap to me lol

Of course Puff technically made Mase. Puff's a producer. That said, a huge part of what made Puff convincing as an artist was Mase. They even sounded similar even when Puff had other writers. "Me with no Timbaland is like Puff with no Mase"--- Missy Elliott in 1998. We saw in real time what happened when Puff tried to do the solo thing without Mase. It wasn't the same.

For what its worth Harlem World is one of my favorite albums.

The first single featured Mase. It was #1. "Been Around The World" was also a huge single which went #2 or #3. That's 2/5 singles that were huge featuring Mase.
BIG did hypnotize...I Be Missing You blew up..but Mase was on Been Around the World..Can Nobody Hold me down..Only You..he always stood out...he waa on top before Jay Z...that Puff got hot because Biggie died and he used recycled 80s beats...Puffy has no rhyme talent. Mase can write, rap.. don't know about producing. I doubt it but no one is gonna kill him on a track..too good..Fab kind of sound like a fake Mase when he came out. Who the fukk was Cam'ron without Mase?

Of course when Jay Z got hot after Hard Knock Life and the Rush Hour soundtrack song with Amil...he kept going nonstop till to 2003 with that Black album.

I guess itā€™s how you look at it. How can we agree Puff made Mase but then say ā€˜yea Mase made puffā€™.

Also I feel like the fact that Puff, unlike dame, DID ā€˜make another hovā€™ kills the argument.

Puff is like the other Tom Brady of heā€™s succeeded as an artist with relative nobodies. G Dep, black rob, mark curry, dirty money, the Coming Hone track which has like a billion views, couple features his verse on that Wanka remix is classic :damn:

There hasn't been another Mase though. None of those artists were what Mase was. Puff made Saga Continues and like No Way Out, it was more so a group effort. It lacked the synergy that Puff had with Mase and Biggie. Saga Continues flopped even though there were hit records on the album.

Yes, it looks contradictory to say Puff made Mase then turn around say Mase made Puff. The explanation for that is that Puff was never an artist. He was a producer. He NEEDED artists like Mase and Biggie to sell himself as an artist. As a producer, Puff made artists, but he was never able to sell himself as an artist without help.

Because you believe the song is the reason DMX blew up (false), and are forcing your belief that nobody liked those songs from RD when it was originally released (also false), it automatically makes it better?

Mase by far

no one was bumpin RD when it dropped
that doesn't mean it was better. Everyone slept on RD. I still have the ORIGINAL copy with the gun art and 2 dots above the Y. A year later, it was taken off the shelves. Jay blew up in 1998 and everyone then wanted a copy of RD and coulnd't get it until the 1998 reissue. The source dissed it in their summer of 96 issue with Nas on the cover(IT WAS WRITTEN also got only 4 mics in the same issue). People really didn't appreciate it at the time. Mase came in during a time that Big as died, Puffy was already a star and he had the red carpet laid out for him. No one outside of the purists knew Jay Z. I was in the army in 1997 and I knew dudes from the south that had never heard of Jay Z. They would introduce me to albums from Cash Money artists like BG, UNLV, and shyt I had never heard of and I'd introduce them to artists like Jay Z and Organize Konfusion. 27 years later, we all know what is the better album. And this is not a diss to Mas cuz that was an amazing album too. At the same time, Illmatic wasn't being bumped heavily from the mainstream in 1994 as well. Warren G's debut that year outsold it by at least 6x more. Are we also saying Regulate the G Funk Era(an amazing album) is better than Illmatic too?
