I don’t really hear Mase on Reasonable Doubt as much from what I know, again they’re not the same artist. Jay is a rapper who raps about getting out the drug game. Mase was a fly dude getting chicks who played ball and rapped about the flamboyant rich lifestyle.

Breh he switched his entire flow up. He changed how he makes songs. And he was old AF when he did that.

Hawaiian Sofie didn't hit and that Shyheim track I posted didn't hit either. he was low on the totem pole.

Even on Big L's debut his verse did not move the needle at all. He a straight up swagger jacker.

Drake is 2. Drake is phenomenal but him and jay both studied real talent and bit n ran with it. 2 some that doesn't matter; but 2 people like me it does.

They're straight up PIMPS in this rap shyt.

UPTOWN BABY; UPTOWN BABY; WE GETS DOWN BABY; 4 THE CROWN BABY

edit: @Art Barr what u think about this noize

Jay was with Big L back in 94 with that Bobbito freestyle, but I was talking about Content. They don’t rap about the same stuff. Everyone bites each other flows in reality :manny:Jay has different styles, some say he took Jaz-O’s rapid flow too.

I won’t debate artists I like, they’re both good at what they do.

Harlem World was a moment no doubt, I was in like 7th grade I think...coming of age (no pun), literally EVERYBODY had that album and was knockin it and loving it, I played that ish like every morning on the headphones waiting for the bus, lol. Mase was the f'n man.

That said, Reasonable Doubt is way better, imo. HW may be a better worldly, big album...maybe musically better...but RD is just so superior lyrically and just feel wise, it's not close.

From a hip hip standpoint, this is an embarrassing comparison. Reasonable Doubt is one of the best albums from one of the best emcees in hip hop history.

From a commercial standpoint, who gives a f*ck?

This. The culture is more predictable than ever. The right answer is boring. Everyone is contrarian now

Yes, Mase album was better. And Katt Williams low key been the goat this whole time. Low key Lebron might not even be top 10 :unimpressed: etc etc
