On Monday evening, as Baltimore was rocked by violent and non-violent protests alike, actor Jesse Williams, known for his role on “Grey’s Anatomy” and for occasionallyweighing in on issues of race and police brutality, wrote what amounted to an essay on the history of rioting.

We're talking about it aren't we? There's been exactly one federal investigation into any police department after these unarmed killings and that one department was Ferguson.

It's crazy how you actually have to pay attention when a city is in chaos. I guarantee a federal investigation into Baltimore will occur after this, and that never would have happened without a riot.

Because it's easy to ignore a very real problem until shyt is on fire.
