Theory: Neither Bucky or the Winter soldier will have their names by the end of this series. Sam will be cornered into becoming Captain America and Bucky may just go back to Wakanda and become the White Wolf.
I don't think either of those things will happen. lol

I like the white wolf theory but I think marvel isn’t going to do it because every comic fan sees it coming

Lotta so called “nikkas” in here quick to throw away common sense and say Sam ain’t gonna be cap:patrice:

It’s already been spelled out. Steve Rogers literally KNIGHTED this man in the finale of the one of the biggest movies of ALL TIME. They HAVE to have pay off but they’ve also got to show how Sam is going to accept and carry the mantle (Shield) on his own terms.

If they go back on the already established premise of Sam becoming Captain America after such straight forward foreshadowing i’ll legit quit the MCU

My guess is he doesn't become Cap. They are definitely doing Youg Avengers in the MCU with America being in DS 2, Kate Bishop in Hawkeye, recasting Antman's daughter to a bigger actress, etc. Isaiah Bradley a Black guy the US government secretly experimented on trying to develop a new super soldier serum is going to be on this show. So I think Sam is going to learn the secret history involving him, he's going to have a military trained, physically gifted grandson and he will get the shield. That's my guess how this plays out. But all of this is just my conjecture based on the cast and where the MCU is going. Would that make you quit the MCU?

You don’t think Sam will take the mantle? I’m about 80/20 that he does which means he will no longer be Falcon. It could be the more nuanced take for him to turn it down but I don't think they have the balls.

A bit predictable? Maybe.

But everyone he’s making amends with is being told at the end of his little speech that he is no longer the Winter Soldier.

Unless he’s just gonna be Sam’s sidekick he’s going to need an arc of his own beyond this show and I don’t think it’ll be as plain James or even "Bucky". Also his pardon is conditional, some conditions that he's shown breaking as we're being told what they are lol, so anything he and Sam get into could cost him his freedom.

Being that Wakanda will soon be a point of focus again, he has a place where he not only knows the only peace he's had in a century but also an identity not tied to his past mistakes.

there's toys of him with a new falcon/Captain America outfit on

i've seen them. They're old though, hangovers from when he was Cap.

The only reason I think so, is because they try to merge the comics with the end of the movies/arcs, and that doesn't seem like one they will return to. So, if he carries the shield for a couple of episodes, ultimately I think he rejects the mantle. He may inspire Patriot (but I'll only accept Eli), and they'll turn it over to the YA.

Overall, if he was gonna be Cap for a significant period, I would think they'd put it in a movie.
