I don’t think they said that, i think peoples expectations are out of wack due to spider-man remastered and miles morales. If you compare it to the vanilla 2018 its a giant leap.

They completely redid the original game with ray tracing and new textures and assets. They were still updating it after even Miles came out with the muscle deformation tech
