Fam :russ:

this dude had two bathrooms in the entire Marvel building for YEARS because he didn't want a high water bill
x

He wanted them to serve only apple crisp at the Iron Man premiere because he was worried the film wouldn't recoup it's money. [x]

He's the dude who ordered F4 and X-Men be demoted in the comics because Fox wouldn't give them the Merch rights back (the beef with Fox is almost entirely Ike's thing, Feige is about getting all the characters back)

He made Chris Evans pay for his own gym membership while training for The Avengers...

He's the dude who forces actors into the 9 picture deals.

Russo's said they made more money on episodes of Community than for TWS

He's the reason Terrance Howard got screwed over and told someone people wouldn't notice because "Black people all look a like" [x]

Another one

Perlmutter is famously cheap - Marvel's press junkets have been catered by Subway in the past - and has been known to get involved on all levels, from blockading diversity in Marvel's on-screen superheroes to getting the girlfriends of his billionaire pals roles in Marvel movies. I know that Feige has been deeply frustrated working under Perlmutter, and that for many Marvel staffers part of the job was making sure Ike didn't randomly torch the whole thing.

More Big Changes At Marvel Studios As The "Creative Committee" Is Brought To An End

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Marvel Studios will now operate under the watch of Disney instead of Marvel Entertainment. Another big behind the scenes shake up has occurred, with the Creative Committee (made up of names like Joe Quesada) disbanded by Kevin Feige...

According to Birth.Movies.Death, Marvel Studios' Creative Committe has been disbanded this week following the severing of ties between the studio and Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter. For those of you unfamiliar with the group, it was apparently made up of names like Alan Fine, Brian Michael Bendis, Dan Buckley, and Joe Quesada. Their job was to give notes and weigh in on Marvel productions while they were being adapted. Their input was clearly not appreciated by Kevin Feige (because, let's face it, he hardly needs the help of someone like Bendis) as now it will just be him, Louis D'Esposito, and Victoria Alonso making key creative decisions.

So, why scrap what sounds like a relatively useful group of people to have around? According to the site, this committee was something of a burden, offering up "notes that are pedestrian, motivated by 'save the cat' story logic and sometimes a drag on creativity." Perhaps their greatest crime were being responsible for the script notes which led to Edgar Wright deciding to depart Ant-Man, while their lateness with such revisions would often play havoc with a movie's development. In other words, good f**king riddance! Another interesting titbit revealed by the site is that "Ike, with a background in toys, believes girl toys do not sell and thus vetoed them again and again," and that explains the lack of Black Widow merchandise.

All in all, it feels like a new day is dawning at Marvel Studios. Just how much of a different we'll notice as moviegoers remains to be seen, but there's no denying the fact that Kevin Feige appears to be making all the right decisions. What do you guys think?

So that's who they are, huh?:scust:

I always said Marvel never goes "all out" in their flicks.

Even the first Avengers movie was a masterpiece in playing it "safe"

I'm excited about the change:ehh:

But it worked, I doubt feige was a guy saying go large or go home he played it safe too. The way duvernay spoke about feige not feeling her vision for a panther movie leads me to believe his hands aren't exactly clean in this. We could be witnessing the beginning of the end for the MCU :francis:

The beginning of the end? lol OK.
Feige's hands aren't clean in what? Are you referring to an incident or something?

Marvel invented the connected cinematic universe that at least five other franchises are now biting and they develop characters that aren't well known. Where does this 'safe' reputation come from?
If people are mad that the good guys win or nobody of consequence dies that's basically every comic book movie ever. Even the so-called dark ones.

there is a general feeling that ppl are taking from this news that feige was stiffled and every bad cgi, story or tonal issue with the MCU was due to him not having full freedom. Now he has close to full autonomy most heads are clapping and using words like "about time". I bet very little changes in fact if anything it will probably get worse

Ahhh but in comics bad guys get to shine in the MCU they get less opportunity at villainy than a Saturday morning cartoon villain from the 80s

Really? It seems people were pretty oblivious to Ivan and the committee and gave dude full credit good or bad to Feige before these stories broke. I mean hearing the guy you thought was responsible get more say is a good thing. I'm not expecting a huge change in the movies.

That's true. But what's that got to do with 'safe'? I mean you can say you don't like that but that's a different topic.
