I completely see why people don't like playing support, some people just play dumb and want to be babysitted 24/7
I main Cloak and Dagger, and it's crazy how frustrating some people play.

On one hand, you'll have people that blitz WAY too far ahead and leave you to either focus healing on them without helping anyone else; or leave them to die and try to keep everyone else alive long enough for him to return.

On the other hand, you'll have people who NEVER want to die, so they fight from so far behind the point that they keep you from traveling too far up with vanguards...and they never look out for a support that's getting blitzed by a Black Panther or Iron Fist. They'll focus on K/D only, which means leaving you out to dry.

That also typically comes with both these styles of player being clueless about taking advantage of a defensive Ult. I lay a cloak down all around the convoy or defense area, and the blitzers run past it anyway or the long distance cats don't push up at all.

I generally try to keep 2 or 3 friends to rock with, since they know how to pair up with me. If you run Punisher and save your Ult to combo with me, you'll get an MVP at least half the time.

Greetings, Rivals!
We're thrilled to announce that the upcoming patch drops on February 6, 2025, at 09:00:00 (UTC+0)! This update will also be applied without server downtime—so you can dive right back into your epic battles as soon as the update is live!

Bug Fixes

All Platforms

General
1. Adjusted age rating labels.
2. Fixed an issue with the Epic Launcher restarting after 5 minutes of inactivity, which caused random anti-cheat notifications.

Maps and Gameplay
1. Resolved multiple instances where players could get stuck in unique terrain.
2. Fixed an occasional synchronization issue with some doors in Hydra Charteris Base: Frozen Airfield

Hero Bug Fixes
1. Venom's Wild Swing: Fixed an issue where Venom Swing could occasionally fail to end properly. Now, he'll always land with style.

2. Venom's Ultimate Devour: Resolved a problem where pressing Devour as soon he lands after unleashing Feast of the Abyss would sometimes deal no damage or knockback. Venom's hunger will now be fully satisfied!

3. Mister Fantastic's Bulletproof Rubber: Addressed a bug where his Reflexive Rubber ability could sometimes fail to end correctly. He's back to being as fantastic as ever!

4. Storm's Tempestuous Control: Fixed an issue where Storm's Ultimate Ability could lead to unintended positions if she unleashes it just as she passes through Doctor Strange's portal. She'll now control the storm without getting lost!

5. Storm's Recovery Rumble: Resolved a bug where Storm's Ultimate Ability could end abnormally if trapped by recovering destructible structures. She's ready to unleash her powers—no more interruptions in the eye of the storm!

6. Moon Knight's Handy Prompt: Corrected the issue where the ground visual cue for Moon Knight's Ultimate Ability would prematurely disappear—no more being caught unaware about incoming talons.

7. Wolverine's Fastball Bewilderment: Fixed occasional synchronization issues in the Fastball Special Team-Up Ability where on Wolverine's side, he would appear as being held by the Hulk, but others would see Wolverine still in his original place. Now, everyone's in sync to play ball.

8. Magneto's Ironic Iron Issue: Resolved an occasional problem where Iron Man's Ultimate Ability would still take effect even after being absorbed by Magneto's Ultimate Ability. Magneto's magnetic prowess now has it fully contained!

9. Jeff the Land Shark's Spitting Shenanigans: Fixed an issue where if Jeff the Land Shark spit out others just as his Ultimate Ability was about to end, it would be interrupted and automatically spit them out when the ultimate ended, causing it to look like the animation played twice. He'll now eject everyone in one smooth motion!

10. Banner's Revival Wardrobe: Addressed a costume issue that occasionally occurred with Banner after being revived by Rocket Racc00n's beacon. He's looking sharp and ready to hulk out!

11. Loki's Reload: Fixed a rare issue where Loki's Mystical Missiles would not refill after reloading during unstable network conditions. He's back to being the trickster with a full arsenal!

12. Loki's Transformation Trouble: Resolved a rare occurrence where Loki's Ultimate Ability transformation would end immediately after activation in unstable network conditions. His mischief will now last as intended!

Stay tuned for even more thrilling content on the horizon—keep your eyes peeled for our official announcements!

second-half-of-season-1-will-start-from-february-21-v0-i07iqhvslcie1.webp

Hey, Rivals!

The first half of Season 1 is reaching its end with the second half set to kick off on February 21, 2025! Get ready to welcome two new Super Heroes to Marvel Rivals—The Thing and Human Torch—along with some major balance adjustments. These updates are expected to shake up the battlefield during the second half of Season 1. After careful observations and consideration, we have concluded that players' ranks during the first half of Season 1 are the best indicator of their competitive skills within the season. So, we will be introducing additional rank reset to better align with the upcoming content and changes!

Season 1 First Half Rank Finalization and Rewards

The first half of Season 1 will conclude on February 21, 2025 at 8:00 (UTC+0), after which all ranks will be locked in. Players at Gold rank or above (season high) will receive a costume reward, and players at Grandmaster rank or above along with the Top 500 will obtain Crest of Honor.

Season 1 Second Half Rank Reset and Rewards

Ranks will be reset when the second half of Season 1 starts on February 21, 2025. Based on your standing at the end of the first half of Season 1, prepare for a drop of four divisions. For example, if you ended the first half of Season 1 at Diamond I, you'll start the second half at Platinum II.

In the second half of the season, we will be rolling out new costume rewards for Gold rank players, along with brand new Crests of Honor. These Crests will recognize players at Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All (the top 500), each with its own unique design to celebrate your skill!

Additionally, we want to ensure that only players who take part in the current season's competitive mode can earn the corresponding rewards. Starting from the second half of Season 1, players will need to complete at least 10 matches in competitive mode and meet the required conditions to claim their rewards.

Future Seasons and Half Seasons

Going forward, players can expect to kick off the start of each new Season with a drop of six divisions and the start of the second half of each new Season with a drop of four divisions. We will tune this as necessary!

Thank you for your passionate support and stay tuned on our official channels for the latest news about the second half of Season 1!

The mid season rank reset is lame :why:. Might be the one change to make me completely drop this game :francis:

Nah, keeps people from getting frustrated and hard stuck. Keep nikkas on the hamster wheel once every so often. They'll eventually extend seasons. But right now people are pissing and moaning about being stuck in Silver. So do quicker resets, the top flight won't fall further than Plat 3 which is literally less than 5% of the player base. And if you're really that good, you'll be back in Grandmaster or Celestial in a couple hours.

If anything I think they need to make pick/ban start at Gold (or even Silver.)

I think it'll do the opposite, especially for people that are hardstuck/have other obligations and can't play more than several hours a week. Someone that has been hardstuck Plat 1 and has to drop down to Gold 2 at reset and climb again, just for another reset of 6 ranks in 6 weeks? That would be frustrating as hell especially being that close to diamond.

I knew I couldn't have been the only one that disagreed with this change. Looks like there was already alot of outrage and the Devs caved :russ:

This is a W for the game in my book.

I suck at this game and made it to plat 3 running Rocket Racc00n and IW. I also play on a controller on the PC. No way cats are this trash at the game.

Definitely possible lol
The problem isn't just individual skill it's really, do you have awareness as a team?

I don't play comp often. I slowed down about a month ago on the edge of gold and now I wish I didn't stop because Silver I is still very much a toss up

And the worst trash is always looking for someone to blame :mjlol:

Climbing isn't a problem for me. Currently in Diamond lobbies on PC with a controller. I just like to take my time with the climb. I have a family, full time job and like to rotate other games in between. Got some bangers coming out this year.

Yo I forgot how retarded dudes are in multiplayer games.

I got blamed for losing a match, even though our Punisher started the game 1/9 :why:

They just glossed over that fact and I knew they'd be stuck in gold forever

Just got out of a match where there was one tank, and 3 dps and none would take out the flanking goonknight or iron fist

always letting healers die and complaining for heals

end game with over 40k in heals despite all the death "Horrible heals and tank" :mjlol:
