I would be more interested in Marvel if they did a hard reboot. In my eyes, all of the soft reboots defeated the purpose of having the continuity trace back to the early Marvel days.

Marvel should stop being scared and just do a hard reboot. Majority of their characters have been around for almost 60 years (Captain America and Namor almost 80 years). Do something like a Crisis and start from scratch. A lot of their characters origins date back to the Cold War, the space race, etc. Bring it forward to the 21st century. They were on the right track with their Ultimate line until they made it 616 lite.
They can't and they should not. Dc did it and they have too many problems. Readers just got to learn to let continuity go.

Maybe instead of rebooting the universe they should just cancel the 18 niche books that nobody but the most die-hard fans would be interested in buying. Just because you can give everyone a solo series, doesn't mean anyone's interested in them.

Whoever greenlit that Solo series should be beaten with a bag of rocks.

I've been collecting Marvel on and off since about 1989. As I got older, I focused more so on key titles rather than actual storylines.

One of the major things that I have noticed that are turnoffs are the multi verses and the constant reboots since the late 90s. It can get confusing as hell.

It's gotten worse over the years, the reboots have become far more frequent and the storylines are far shorter. A lot of my favorite titles have no continuity and seem to only last about 50 issues or so...they seem to last about 3 years max...and then it just disappears.

One thing that has definitely taken me away from buying new books is the digital age...Marvel Unlimited has totally changed by comic buying budget with new titles and back issues. I have access to pretty much everything instantly. I have access t thousands of classics, without the cost or storage problem.

I thought DC Was gonna do this with rebirth, but then more titles started coming out after the relaunch.

It's still not bad like Marvel. 2 years + after they're soft reboot, they're still dropping new shyt. :francis:

So..........They still don't realize that all these fukking events and releasing too many comics is what's hurting their sales?

Marvel just doesn't know how to keep shyt simple:snoop:

This is why i stopped fukking with DC. They kept trying to have their cake and eat it too. Overly complicated continuity that nobody can explain, 5 versions of the same fukking character running around, not knowing where the fukk everything fits together, and too many damn events and tie ins.
Actually this is Disney's doing.
