Marvel should stop being scared and just do a hard reboot. Majority of their characters have been around for almost 60 years (Captain America and Namor almost 80 years). Do something like a Crisis and start from scratch. A lot of their characters origins date back to the Cold War, the space race, etc. Bring it forward to the 21st century. They were on the right track with their Ultimate line until they made it 616 lite.
They basically re-NEW shyt when they created the ultimate universe and got to retell stories in a modern age....But they killed ultimate universe so :francis:

Its crazy that its gotten so bad that marvel has to literally just be like screw it lets got back to how it was.

I'm sure they'll still be 2 or 3 versions of spider man doom, ironman, and the xmen with one "main" or legacy character tho.

I'm not optimistic about them getting this right, I feel like its going to be another battle world type thing.

All these new heroes that Marvel makes to pander to minorities creates a bunch of throw away comics and characters that no own gives a shyt about and will be forgotten never to be used again

Go back to 616, drop all these weak ass characters, build up the universe again, and once there is something people are actually attached to, then do an event

So..........They still don't realize that all these fukking events and releasing too many comics is what's hurting their sales?

Marvel just doesn't know how to keep shyt simple:snoop:

This is why i stopped fukking with DC. They kept trying to have their cake and eat it too. Overly complicated continuity that nobody can explain, 5 versions of the same fukking character running around, not knowing where the fukk everything fits together, and too many damn events and tie ins.

This is the real problem Secret War was the last good event and it had a real build up to it starting with Hickman's FF. All this other shyt they've been doing is ridiculous go back to telling contained stories for your character with writers and artists that are compassionate about the materials they're given. Build up to a event every three years or so.

They fukked up by putting their best ultimate writers in the 616 and loeb :snoop:. Once they did that, ultimate verse never recovered

They pretty much sent in Loeb to kill the Universe off.

Loeb killed the Ultimates

Robert Kirkman killed Ultimate X-Men

Bendis was the only one that still gave a fukk about the Ultimate Universe before it was killed off.

New heroes? :dahell:

All of these new heroes are just taking up the mantle of an already established character and going from there.

What does this mean? Original numbering.
However many issues the latest volume has, they'll add that number to the original volume and pick up from there.

Say Volume 3 had 53 issues and Volume 1 ended at 210 issues, they'll pick up at issue #264. They've been doing that for the last 15 years or more as a gimmick: cancel old books, relaunch with #1s, revert back to original volume with padded numbers.

Marvel always flip flops between being "all new" and going "back to their roots". Not that DC doesn't do it, but it seems more prevalent with Marvel. It's almost like they are embarrassed by their legacy sometimes. I guess poor sales have convinced them to embrace it for the moment.

They went to number 1's recently for a lot of their series so any of those will revert back to their original numbering. E.g., spiderman had issue 600 a couple years ago and its since relaunched with a new number 1 a couple years ago and recently celebrated number 25. With this initiative, it all be back in line with issue 600

Poor sales convince everyone to do everything in comics. Crisis, Infinite Crisis, Clone Wars, Black Costume, Venom, killing Jason Todd, new 52, all new all marvel, variant covers, etc. the hope is that whatever you come up with to counter it actually shows some life beyond the initial sales boost
