Heroes reborn was a soft reboot, breh. The point is I'm tired of the big two regressing characters back to day zero. I like progress. Superman and Spiderman being married didn't bother me. dikk Grayson as batman was enjoyable.

I still don't see Heroes Reborn as even a soft reboot since that shyt got thrown in the bushes almost entirely a year later and shyt picked back up where it left off.

With that said I agree with you on wanting the stories to progress (in a sensible way). shyt is always two steps forward and 15 steps back.

I think the X-men franchise has been hurt by this more so than any other. Morrison put in a lot of work trying to move that franchise forward to it's logical point, but ever since he left Marvel has just been trying to slowly roll the clock back, to the point where the time displaced original X-Men are now running around.

I can never be too mad at Quesada because he was the genius that decided to do a Black Panther series written by Christopher Priest :blessed:

I suppose, but he's the reason we have had so many events.

Oh and of course One More Day, he even made Spider-Man look like him. The reason behind Spider-Man missing his wedding was enough for me to stop reading that garbage.

Champions is basically that, too much preaching, I've never seen anything like it across so many books.

At least NightHawk got another book for a while. Take Black Panther, straight trash.

:childplease:

They just did this in 2015
Plus heroes Reborn after Onslaught.

So that's 3 times in 20 years.

vs DC which in the same time period has done infinite crisis, final crisis, new 52, and rebirth.

So, one more time than marvel :yeshrug:

DC has done it more if you go beyond that but for the same time period, marvel has fukked up their timeline just as much as DC.

battleworld wasnt a reboot. outside of ultimate additions, the world is still the same

hell, even infinite crisis, final crisis, and rebirth werent reboots. retcons sure, but not reboots

You're being really picky for no reason. As a reader it's the same shyt.

no it isnt. coie was a reboot, nu52 was a reboot. in marvel whats keeping characters from being used is noone wanting to use them, but they can come back whenever someone wants them back. with a reboot thats not happening since the characters are gone. empress isnt coming back, son of vulcan inst coming back. obsidian and jade (as we knew them)arent coming back.

It's a reboot man. You're splitting hairs. Heroes reborn was a reboot. Battleworld was at the least a reset. The ultimate universe was a reboot without them having to actually say "reboot." They got to have their cake and eat it too. But heroes reborn was their way of starting over and it didn't take so they erased it all

what did battleworld reset to? the world that already existed prior to the event? the ultimate universe wanst a reboot anymore than earth x was or any alternate timeline

Marvel should stop being scared and just do a hard reboot. Majority of their characters have been around for almost 60 years (Captain America and Namor almost 80 years). Do something like a Crisis and start from scratch. A lot of their characters origins date back to the Cold War, the space race, etc. Bring it forward to the 21st century. They were on the right track with their Ultimate line until they made it 616 lite.
