What comic book movies from the past 20 years have had great villains? Because outside of The Joker I'm not seeing this trend of great villains that Marvel alone fails to live up to.
Fred.
Bane and Ra's... if you want to talk about TV, Deathstroke and Lex. Then there's V for Vendetta. And if we're not including Raimi's Spider-Man or Singer's X-men then we got Doc Ock, Magneto, the Sentinels this year....
Fassbender's Magneto is that dude
The sole reason Marvel is getting this level of scrutiny is because they're winning right now.
Fred.
The villians in Spiderman were 1-D except for William Dafoe being Green Goblin. He was it.
The fact you used this GIF basically proved his point.
DOC OCK was one of the best villains to come in comic book movies
Marvel started the MCU YEARS ago....
DOC OCK was one of the best villains to come in comic book movies
That's exactly my point.
The MCU has 10 movies, all interlocked in varying ways, that tell one long story, about the Infinity Stones. The culmination of which should be "The Avengers 3", in 2019.
The president of DC would give his left nut to have that level of foresight 5-6 years ago, which is why they're scrambling to make a "Justice League" movie.
DC has nothing going on besides Batman and Superman. Marvel is so far ahead of the game they're breaking records with D tier comic characters like "Guardians Of The Galaxy".
That's what I mean by winning.
And this ain't even about Marvel vs DC. It's about the internet being overly critical of anything that's successful. Nobody was talking about "Marvel has weak villains" prior to "Guardians Of The Galaxy" blowing the fukk up.
