You missed the point. He can cast who he wants but the problem is he's trying to gatekeep a genre that employs actors who would never get work from him.

(On my phone)

I think you're missing his point by hyper focusing on his racism. Big budget, focus grouped, cookie cutter comedy-action movies are a cancer on the film industry and actively dumb down audiences. There's always been trends, but this superhero shyt is like crack, it's gone too far. I've spoken to people my age who have only seen Marvel movies in theaters, that's sad and we should speak out against it. It's culturally degenerative, I think France and Spain have actually taken action against this, making it so that you must have a quota of domestic films shown at every theater.

Scorsese definitely is an annoying cac but he's right here.

He's right in some regards.

You don't have any lasting memories of most these movies.

Hell, even the B level movies of yester year like tremors, critters,I come in peace, you still have lasting memories of moments from those old flicks.

These new movies are mostly wash rinse repeat.

I'll always remember when Cap picked up the hammer. :wow:

And I almost shed a thug tear when Black Panther came through that portal. :to:

No lies told, you comic-book cocksuckers. :yeshrug:

This isn't 2012 anymore...The Avengers isn't coming thru that door. Instead, we're getting BS like Morbius, or The New Mutants. :mjlol:

The movie industry is in shambles right now, and that was prior to the strike. Where are all the Casino type movies? Where are the Fatal Attractions, Bone Collectors, Silence of the Lambs, ETC??? If these types of movies aren't getting greenlit, its definitely damn near impossible to get quality black cinema lit. I'm convinced we'll never see a Dead Presidents type film again, released in cinema, nor a Friday. :manny:

Why not?? Cuz fakkits would rather fan out for Suicide Squad 4, or Fast & Flop 11. Even Scream 15, The Resurrection of Cotton Weary. Its disgusting.:scust:

He's not right in any regard.

Saying there's no "lasting memories" is nonsense that you can't even prove. You think all these movies that brought in $1 billion are just forgotten by the audience? The same "wash, rinse, repeat" cycle is true for most movie genres so why single out one. These are mostly summer blockbuster movies anyway so he has no point.

Scorsese is only mad because he couldn't get a 9 figure budget when he saw MCU and DCEU films getting that. He didn't want to turn to a streaming service but the times have changed and some movies are better off on the small screen. COVID changed things for minute and audiences weren't trying to hit the theaters unless it required a theater experience. Now things are getting back to normal and Barbie and Oppenheimer did numbers during the summer. There's no point in gatekeeping. People will choose what they want to pay for.

And anyone who's riding with him on this ask yourself how many black actors has Martin Scorsese cast? :mjpls:

Marvel has cast Sam, Cheadle, Terence Howard, Mackie, Luptia, Whitaker, MBJ...I could go on and on.

Scorsese, Woody Allen, and a lot of these old guard directors keep their movies and storylines lily white. There's a lot more to his anger than just not liking comic book movies.
Yes. Avatar: The Way of Water came out last christmas and to use the coli's favorite phrase "came and went". shyt made 2 billy and no one talks about it a few months later :russ:, just like the OG Avatar.

and yes i realize that's not a Marvel movie, but they haven't hit a billy in years

You are right about this point. I googled the top Scorcese films and and not one of the movie posters featured a Black person. I never noticed until now how his movies have zero Black characters in them.
