Not gonna lie, never seen A another Martin Lawrence out in the wild...but I was watching the BlackBusters podcast with big jah, and they were talking about this topic and mentioned a comedian named barry brewer...i kinda see it, similar Energy.

With Bel-Air it worked because there was a lot of episodes that were serious. Martin didn't really have that, except the break up/make up with Gina and even then it leaned towards comedy

This isn’t like Bel Air, tho. It’s not retelling stories from the sitcom. It’s a prequel.

This is more like a dramatic Everybody Hates Chris, except for the character Martin Payne instead of the celebrity Martin Lawrence. I don’t see why everyone is hating off rip.

from Sheneneh (derrick fox/shante), to eddie's fat suit, to will/fresh prince
not sure martin is that type of character and this just sounds bootleg
