Brehs I’m kinda interested in this. This prolly sounds unrealistic but I’d like to learn as many styles and traditions as I can. Reading about many of them recently I find them to be both fascinating as well as valuable to personal growth and development. I’m tryna get way more into meditation so this is a great way to do it imo.

Ive already done Boxing training in the past so I’d love to learn different Kung Fu (internal/external) and BJJ styles so I can be better with other aspects of defense. Even Kalari from India looks fascinating given its age and knowledge of pressure points/Ayurvedic medicine. As does Capoeira.

There are Capoeira lessons near my job. Plus I’ve seen some demonstrations and it’s a really fun looking exercise. I’d probably do that moreso for coordination and balance. Plus it’s got a rhythmic kinda therapy to it from how it looks.

How long did it take you to learn those disciplines? I know the shyt I’m picking would take years to master but it’s cool it’s just for meditative and self defense purposes.

Boxing, pops got me into it early
Krav, about 9 years ago (before "everybody"opened a gym)
Muay about 3/4 years ago
Sambo almost 2 months
Imo no such thing as mastering any material art you can always learn something new or work on footwork e.t.c

True, yeah I don’t consider my journey a case of mastery so much as it is a case of practice itself. If I get a hang of how something works within a few years or even a decade that’s cool for me. I plan on continuing it for as long as possible.
