Don't tell them anything.

LMMFAO "I don't like anyone in my business". Yet you're giving some woman your last name, living with her and possibly having children with her but don't be in my financial business while you're doing all that.

It's sad. Dudes really have no idea how to lead a houshold:snoop:

Marriage imminent

joint savings
joint checking (for bills & food)
separate checking (for personal spending)

Never thought of the separate spending accounts as hiding purchases. We do it so that we(read I) don't have to keep track of whose money is whose.
Y'all are married! why does it even matter whose money is whose?

We have separate joint accounts ... LOL ... basically we each have and use our own. My money goes in chase, hers HSBC but they are technically joint accounts (for emergencies) ... So to sum it all up we have 2 joint accounts that we use indepentantly .

No it doesn't. Things will be split up regardless of which account its in. Unless you are talking about hiding some money somewhere which would be illegal and would make things even more complicated. And once agin if you feel you need to hide money somewhere then why get married in the first place.
why do assume that someone is hiding when they have seperate account??

:wtf:

Only our personal spending money.

If we didn't separate it, we'd either have to:

Keep track of who spent what, so each person has enough.
Chance someone not leaving the other with enough.

I have a record & music equipment habit. She has a clothes & shoes habit. Someone would be pissed if they went for their fix & the money was gone. Regarding personal spending money, it matters.

So the people saying "have separate accounts" are married and the people saying "share accounts" are not married and have never been. Ugh

Undisputed facts, as far the thread goes.

Only one person in here thats married despises a separate account, the rest of the married ppl agree with having a separate account .

Ppl better do whatever works for them though

divorce rate is 50%..you gotta plan for the worst
not like the old days anymore

planning for the worst and the wosrt will happen ... thats the law of the universe. Go into the marraige ready to succeed and grow together and etc and it will happen.

I went into my marraige on my Alex P. Keaton tip ... i ended up showing her things ... she showed me some stuff ... we built some stuff .... Now its growing and we have kids to continue building for... As long as you work at it and think positive about it, it will work.... So I'm not preparing for a divorce. If it happens I'll deal with it but I'm not looking for it.

What people like @BezO are saying isnt really joint accounts.

Pulling out a small amount of money for individual discretionary spending. Is not the same as having your income go to seperate accounts. As long as it goes to the same place and then gets divvied up equally from there, then I see no problem with that.
