Smaller, more intimate wedding + nicer honeymoon sounds better to me, but if she has her heart set on having all those people there then I don't know how you're gonna do it for 7k

One thing to consider that is becoming more and more popular: Request money gifts instead of items. Some people think this is kinda tacky, but I know in many cultures this is customary and I've been to multiple weddings that were like that. Makes more sense to me anyway. Recoup your costs a little, lol.

Yeah, 11 stacks is ridic considering that ya'll are essentially married already. Just a piece of paper at this point.

Our wedding looking to be almost 8 to 9k range and we are in DC. shyt, in DC, weddings can go for $30k to 40k!!!

We just networked everything:

-our wedding coordinator is a childhood friend of hers (FREE)
-my boy is DJing (cut his rate in half and we got other things too for FREE)
-my boy is a bowtie maker (cut his rate as well; throwing in pocket squares in for FREE)
-cake will be made by a student of The Arts Institute looking to make some extra $$
-her mother took care of the church "donation" (FREE for us)
-her father took care of the car entourage (FREE for us)
-discounted rate for the reception hall bc of the slow season
-sent text to associates, friends and others informing that we will not be able to invite everyone to the reception but they are more than welcome to attend the ceremony.......with gifts:lolbron:

We just made it work for our budget bc our philosophy is "We ain't spending all this money for one day; rather, for the rest of our lives TOGETHER."

:heh: nikka fukk that...

I'm married and I wasn't gonna be spending close to no 11k.

Marriage is for the couple... Weddings are for everybody else

We were gonna have a small wedding but we could either do that or put that money down on a house. Of course we got our house and then we had just had our one year old babygirl so we were like "Fukk Dat"

We went to the justice of the peace and paid like $80 and we had a reception at a lounge with family and a few friends.

Spent the money we saved and went on a dope honeymoon cruise and sh!t.

It worked out perfectly for me but thats ONLY because my wife wasn't into having a big lavish wedding either.

You spend 11k on a wedding and all you get is a fancy photo album and video :childplease:

Real talk!

All that so OTHER people can eat gourmet food....:stylin: and then leave you the five digit bill.

Imagine how far that 11k can go in terms of honeymoon....furnishing your crib...your kids..all the dope stuff u can do.

You aint got to impress no one.

shyt is ridiculous for 1 day. I would put that 11k towards the down payment on a house. It cost me 25.00 to get married in the courts I couldnt be happier.

Put a price tag on love and then wonder why it loses it's value. If women cared about the actual marriage as much as they cared about the glam of the actual day then marriages wouldn't fail so fukking much.

A man doesn't know true happiness until he's married. By then it's too late.

What you worried about? since she wants a traditional wedding, then traditionally, the bride's father pays. Besides, 11g for a wedding should be considered only if yall are all ready living in a home. If you living in an apartment, then you shouldn't

Cost cutting ideas. Do it yourself. I got married last year and I spent the most money on the two venues. I decorated the spot myself. I had family cook. We got the dresses off of eBay. If you want I can show you who we got them from, but my wife found a dress they where advertising in one of those expensive magazines for $5000-$7000 she got it for $450. We also got the bridesmaid and flower girl dresses from there. We got most of the decorations from saveoncrafts.com they have allot of ideas and the stuff is cheap.

With all that said. DONT DO IT BRO. Your gonna spend all that money for other people to come kick it and have a good time. You and your wife will just be stressed the whole time, and relieved when it's over. You'd do better using the money to go somewhere or buy something you guys need. While on our honeymoon my wife and I both agreed that we should have kept all that $ and spent it on ourselves.
