I tell this to everyone. There's no reason to go into debt to spend thousands of dollars for an event that is a couple of hours long. People in the business end of things love it, DJs, bands, florist, caterers, limosine services, etc. Marriage is more important than the wedding.
$11,000 dollars??? I had $10,000 budget and I worked it be less than $8,000. I actually returned money to the father-in-law, he's not rolling in it. $7000 isn't easy unless you make it a small wedding. Photography, flowers, catering, and cake... you can start crying now. I won't judge.

I'd like to recommend that you have a small wedding. Less people. There were people at the reception who I was like, neither me nor my wife knew them. They were friends of her parents.

We went to the justice of the peace and paid like $80 and we had a reception at a lounge with family and a few friends.

Spent the money we saved and went on a dope honeymoon cruise and sh!t.

It worked out perfectly for me but thats ONLY because my wife wasn't into having a big lavish wedding either.

If you're covering it, and 11 is an issue, it's too much. You don't want to be walking around all resentful, which is exactly what will happen, if you don't figure out some compromise. And that doesn't even include dress/rings/etc? Make that 11 a 20, b.

Posters here are right. That money is better set aside if you have two kids and probably another on the way. Or pay down/off any large debts (house, car) and dig in for when those kids really start to cost.

his pastor did it...all he did was call me for my connections.n had like 50 ppl show up for it...spent 80 on the supplies..the pastor covered all the technical liscense n shyt ...kuz its a write off..
