you realize their salary is way the cost of living is high in these places anyway you dumb ass, before the tech people came rent wasn't high in the bay area lol

And you realize that you can kiss my fukking ass, and if you don't like that, then you can kiss my fukking ass. Bottom line, even taking a cost of living pay cut because they want to work from home out in bumbfukk somewhere, they're going to be ahead of the game. Oh, and kiss my fukking ass. Like someone doesn't know that rent wasn't high before the tech people moved in. That's why we're having this fukking conversation.

they just gonna lie about their residence. give the address of a relative or friend in a pricey neighborhood. people been doing this shyt for years just to get their kids in a certain school district, they'll definitely do it to get an extra 10k-40k in pay.
That won't work, for security purposes corporate laptops basically have built in GPS through their VPN they can tell where you are when you log on.

I always wondered about this. 80K will have you living the country club golf membership suburban life in the sticks. But in New York city you'd be in a two bedroom apt living paycheck to paycheck. If i could finesse something like that, I'd already have a mansion on my current salary somewhere in the south.

Get a PO box in a major metro and set that up as your official address, mean while you are remoting from the country side getting city pay

They're relocating themselves. If you stay in the Bay Area, you will not see a deduction. If you leave the Bay Area and do not return in 2021, your salary will be adjusted per the cost of living of where you moved to.

Because FB closed their office due to a fukking pandemic. :gucci:

I’ve stated my position: An active employee who his forced to WFH choosing to find a cheaper place to stay doesn’t cost FB any extra money (WFH is probably saving FB money). Reducing their pay on a technicality born out of non-pandemic “comparable” circumstances is reprehensible and yet another example of corporate greed. And of course regular Joe’s in here defending it. :snoop:

Everyone lived in the Bay Area. They are leaving and working remotely. They didn't have to leave. They made their choice and a consequence of it is that they will see their salary take a hit. They were officially put on notice today. They have six months to comply. If they stayed in the vicinity of the HQ, they wouldn't risk losing money. I make the money I make is because I work in the NYC metro area. If I were doing the same job at my firm down in Charlotte or Columbus, I see a significant drop in pay because it would be adjusted for the cost of living. If I was in the Bay, I'd get more.

Who's defending it? What Facebook is doing is setting the tone for others to follow suit. They don't have to worry about talent getting poached. They have people beating down the door to get in. I guarantee the other FAANG companies are paying attention to see if it works.

Who's defending it? I'm using logic. You're using emotions. What Facebook is doing is setting the tone for others to follow suit. They don't have to worry about talent getting poached. They have people beating down the door to get in. I guarantee the other FAANG companies are paying attention to see if it works.
Man miss me with that emotional talk, you pulled that out of your ass. Nothing I said has been emotional.

I explained my logic, you just chose to defend corporate greed.
