No, that's called cost of living. It's the difference of getting a very good six figure salary, but still struggling to live because of the obscene cost of living, and taking a pay cut but living the life because you move out of that area.
lol and? They don't have to work in the same area, work being based on cost of living is the world in 1985 we live in the internet age. I'm not letting someone get paid more money for the same work because they choose to live in an expensive area. At this point where you live to work should be a choice as they work at a job that can be exclusively done over the internet.

There're a litany of industries that are going to see some blowback IF remote work takes off the way people dream. I don't foresee a widespread implementation anytime soon as these corporations just can't break these expensive leases. But in a few years if WFH becomes the "new normal" (ugh) a lot of service jobs that rely on that real estate being used and those office workers using it will be lost.

But employers have always seemed willing to sacrifice efficiency and even cost savings if it means employees will be miserable in their jobs so who knows what will happen beyond the tech companies getting behind this.

I would just find the absolute dirt cheapest place in the area and use that as my address or use a friend or family members address, while I eat in Texas

Yeah that’s the scary part. You work on a company issued laptop with a camera, can they log into the camera to see what you are doing? Privacy issues is going to be a big deal.

I for one would be fired cause I’m out doing random shyt while working from home :mjlol:

You don’t block the camera? I put tape on that bytch unless I need to make a video call.

How old are you?
does it really matter? How about you argue against my points. I work a job where I telecommute and make the same amount as I did before I moved. Even if I moved to a place where its cheaper I think I should still get the same pay for the same work.
