There are half a dozen different threads of thought in this thread that people are getting mixed up, and it's not even worth it to try and untangle the mess.

One of the things evident is why Cuban has incurred the wrath of the commissioner as an owner, and paid inordinate fines. He can't shut the fukk up, ever. The issue at hand is the NBA is trying to bring a swift and clear end to a public relations nightmare, and no one needs to know Mark Cuban's views on the commonality of bias among humans nor who provokes him to cross a street out of fear/ignorance. There are times when, in service to a larger cause, you shut the fukk up and get done whatever needs doing. Silver has to be looking at this dude with a mix of :beli::merchant::sitdown:.

In a way, I appreciate him being such a self-important blowhard, because that might keeps the larger conversation going.

Cuban seems to forget that this is a PRIVATE organization and if they wanted to run themselves like Disney, they very well could push Cuban out just as easily.

These evil dikkheads just wanna be free from the ability to say ridiculous things and have them come back to hurt them.

All this "free speech" talk is a goddamn smokescreen

Here's the problem:

I'm interpreting what Cuban said.

You're picking and criticizing one sentence Cuban said in that entire interview, missing his whole point, projecting your own beliefs to a situation that might occur to me, and lastly telling me your fairy tale idea of what society should be.

I read all of it, he's saying you can't legislate people's thoughts but this isn't just one person, this is one of the most powerful people in LA and has influence over elections and more importantly housing. The Clippers and Lakers BOTH use public money to get what they want, you think the Staple Center is cheap? Oh and Cuban is wrong, thoughts constantly get used in a legal and legislative BASIS all the time, there are reason why character witnesses and dialog (whether legally or illegally obtained) are used all the time in court cases and supreme court rulings.

What fairy tale idea of society, all I said was that society is constantly changing and evolving all the time. This is about Mark Cuban showing his distaste for people in a lower class than him. You don't think his opinion doesn't translate in how Dallas and his business is run. I'm sorry, this isn't some 9-5 accountant, this is one of the most richest and powerful men in Texas. If you think his thoughts don't translate into actions, then you live in fair tale land.

Low key, he supported the Trayvon Martin verdict and Zimmerman's decision to use force. Black kid with a hoodie, walking on the sidewalk, that is just blatant at that point. I guess you don't mind people harassing and shooting down unarmed children.

What else is a black person who defends Cuban's comments, if not a c00n?

Tell me.

These words were a LITERALLY assault on your livlihood and existence and you got dudes out here trying to pretend "we read it wrong"

The same ones in here were calling on the Clippers not to boycott are the same ones who are clinging to Cuban's words as if they reveal something we didn't get.

If you're a black male or female and disagree with me on this single solitary topic, you are a c00n.

Period.

I'll be that then. I think you read to much into it, but I know how yall nikkas are.

Keep being outraged by everything, I'll keep c00ning while yall dudes do that faux militant coli hive mind thing you dudes are so good at doing. I'm out.

Absolutely. The NBA wants this to go away as quickly as possible, in Lebron's words, to "protect this beautiful league" or something like that. That's what this is about, protecting the league. It isn't about doing the right thing (they would have done that years ago when they knew about Elgin Baylor's discrimination lawsuit and his housing violations), it's about putting an end to a media-generated firestorm generated from the release of these recordings. It's PR nightmare they want to shut the door on.

If Sterling gets voted out, it will be a business decision to once again protect the league's revenues, not because it's the right thing to do.

Cuban just could not resist himself, he even said prior to the interview to the crowd that he was "going to go full Cuban" or something to that extent. He keeps picking at this scab that the NBA doesn't want him picking at. How long till that scab tears and everyone realizes that this is an issue of racism to everyone American except the NBA.

man yall always know what people really mean.
First you said he was going in...now he's not?

Bonami is/was going in. but u and i both know he only scratching the surface. He probably shooting his guns at about 75% because he is gainfully employed by ESPN.
