People act like they're supposed to give random Japanese actresses a shot when again, the same people saying that shyt can't even name 10 Japanese actresses without the internet helping them.

Besides no one is watching a Ghost in the Shell movie to watch Margot Robbie that's fkin asinine. It's one of the most popular Japanese anime's of all time but your telling me no one is going to watch it cause some blonde Hollywood cactress isn't playing a lead role? Save me that no one will watch it bullshyt for franchises that aren't already established. Logic like that is why you have abominations like Avatar and Exodus.

This example of white washing isn't as egregious as others.

If and when this movie drops, a vast majority of ppl would not have seen, or even know about the anime.

"Random" doesn't mean there aren't any talented Japanese actresses anywhere in Hollywood....."random" refers to that currently, there aren't any prevalent Japanese actresses in hollywood.

You do if you watch foreign movies.

Breh, check my history, I watch more foreign movies than probably 90% of this board. And I can name actors/actresses of every race, including Japanese.

My point is, they ain't gonna give a completely unknown actress a spot in a movie just because her race matches the character. To make things worse, the main people supporting this argument can't even name any Japanese actresses because they don't watch foreign movies.

So if they don't support these people by checking for their movies, why should Hollywood randomly give them a shot when it's $150-$200 mill on the line?
