I don’t mind it because this opens the door for more non bigs to get it. Gobert is definitely the most impactful but I don’t think he’s winning another one in a jazz jersey.

Smart was the best defender on the best defense.
Having him at point in place of Kemba turned them from mediocre, to the top defense in the league. Can switch out of multiple positions, can hold his own on centers, etc. I just can't give the DPOY to the anchor of mediocre defense. Just can't do it.

Bridges played all 82 games unlike Smart’s 71 and has the same 3.7 DWS. Also played on the best team this year. This is a robbery

Where’s Embiid? I had people swearing up and down he was a DPOY candidate and that that was part of the reason why he deserved to be MVP. Not hating at all because I think he’s great on the defensive end; just wondering if people will keep the same narrative energy in this thread or is that just for the MVP?
