Yea I had a good workout, I fasted all day today and yesterday, so those were my only meals, but still was a ton of calories. I work out 2 a days, so like I said the goal is to at least be 1 lb down or break even from the bloat and stuff. I hit 515 on squats x 3 reps (I try to go parallel, I dont do the who ATG thing)
:damn: I havent squatted since I ruptured my ACL, I just deadlift now, plus my gym memberships expired and I only have a barbell, plates, dumbbells and ez curl bar at home, no squat rack.. Squats never really felt comfortable with my body mechanics anyway. Used to do the hacksquat which felt good on my knees. And fukk that ATG shyt unless you have real short legs and a long torso

I`m be real, I aint one of these Elitist form clowns that run around the net, I just go for what makes my body grow and avoid injuries. I`m not trying to compete so I dont care about ATG.

U should get a hex bar they're like 90 bucks. Do deads with that and it'll hit what you're missing with squats.

Yeah I like pause reps, I stop the bar a few inches above my chest though, Any lower is too hard on my shoulders. I dont lockout either. My armspan is 6'6 :mjcry:

I was tracking along well enough until the end of the week. Might be this cold :manny: Either way plus 1.6

Like I was thinking the head cold might have been a factor. Dropped a good bit from yesterday to this morning. It will be interesting to see if it levels up much this week. I wasn't eating much different so it's likely fluid dumping.

If you've never had a shoulder-related injury, then you should re-evaluate why you even want to do bench press. You can always go lower with less weight on the bar. Don't slam your chest but a slight tap isn't going to break your sternum.
Start with 45 lbs. no weight. Do 10 reps. Add 20 lbs. Do another 10 reps. If 65 lbs. is hard on your shoulders, then you need to start working out at Curves on the regular. If not, then add another 20 lbs. Do another 10 reps. Repeat adding 20 lbs and doing 10 reps until you start hitting a wall and cannot push the bar off your chest. If 85 lbs or 105 lbs. becomes a tipping point where you can't complete 10 reps, then that's a new starting point to work on.

Bench press has been the main exercise that built up my chest to where it is today, but touching bar to chest is just too deep with heavy weight. I can touch my chest with the bar alone, but I just see no need for it. When the weight gets heavy and I try bring it all the way down it puts way too much stress on the shoulders and takes tension off the chest. My pecs get a full stretch bringing the bar down to a few inches above the chest, and Ive had great progress. I dont see why I need to touch it, I'm not in competition :manny:

How tall are you btw?

5'6".
When it comes to flexibility, there are plenty of tall people who do full range of motion bench press. I don't compete either. What kind of weight is too much on the bench press for you?
