How many years are we going to do this? :mjlol:

This is rage bait at this point, no point in getting mad anymore. He even threw Kendrick in there to hit multiple generations. Thats some smart rage content making right there :salute:

Kendrick isn’t in my personal top 5, but how is it way too soon for him? His debut was 13 years ago, he has 5 solo albums, and he’s 37 years old right now. Now if you’re saying people anointed him top 5 after his 3rd album (TPAB) then I can agree. At the same token though, people were putting Biggie up there after two albums way back in the 90s.
Rap is WAY older now than it was then. Thats why. Time flies faster but things progress slower as well. It's too soon because unlike the past. These rappers in the top 5 have had like 30 year careers at this point. On top of that. Kendrick just aint good enough to crack that top 5.

Pac and Biggie are in a lot of people’s top 5 and their careers have lasted 5 studio albums (approx 5 years) and 2 studio albums (approx 3 years), respectively. I don’t think the years in the game is as important as the quality of the albums. It would be unfair to say Kendrick can’t even be CONSIDERED until he’s almost 60 years old and has like ten albums.

When I see those three names I don‘t laugh at it...So I don’t got an issue if someone feels like that. All three are lyrical monsters imo.

Kendrick make better songs than Jay Z but he isn’t a better rapper
Kendrick best albums aint better than Jay's best. He don't got more bangers than Jay either. He's not better on features either. Jay's diss track that lost in his battle is better than all of the diss tracks Kendrick dropped against Drake.

Kendrick doesn't have better music than Pac or Biggie. ESPECIALLY Pac. Pac recorded enough material to last him like 6-7 more albums. 3 of em being double albums. I ended my statement by flat saying Kendrick isn't better than any top 5 artist.

Im not a Nas stan, but naming Black Thought,Kendrick,3K before Nas if your debating who could arguably be technically better than Jayz is disrespectful to Nas:mjlol:

But I dont want to rile up the Nas stans so I digress. Jay is in and out of my top 3.

I don't think Marc Lamont Hill is a Nas fan at all. The only time I ever hear him name Nas is for the generic namedrop answer. He's a Thought/Roots fan just for being from that era in Philly where nerds were really paying attention to The Roots (Do You Want More & Illadelph Halflife era).

But if you really break it down, Thought prob has the same amount of solo tracks as Jay. Most of those Roots albums are Thought solo albums, being that Malik B was MIA and Dice only would be on 2 or so tracks

Kendrick doesnt have enough bars for me to put him up so high. But when hes at his best thats not really his intent. Hes more of a poet than a rapper or emcee imo. I dont deny him as a musician but as an emcee he is questionable. I would not want to listen to him rap an hour straight over the best instrumentals ever. Cant think of anybody else considered a top lyricist or emcee I would say that about.
