Black Thought is 1000% better than Jay and that's not a dis - he might be the greatest ever. Verses, albums, concepts, freestyles, consistency etc

Jay is incredibly influential but the quality varies with his verses and projects. I have no problem with anyone calling Jay GOAT and he's Top 10 for me

3 Stacks is probably better technically and his music is easily better but he basically quit so I'd put Jay higher than him

Kendrick makes better music than Jay in terms of consistency but he's probably the weakest of the 4 lyrically IMO

We're talking about S Tier talent here

technically Jay Z is one of the greats, but he puts out so much bullshyt singles, people don't hear the B-sides to confirm how dope he is. For every "can I get a", "nikkas in paris", and "change clothes", you have a "22 2's", "Can I live", and "imaginary player". People judge Jay Z's career and rapping ability SOLELY off of his mainstream bullshyt. Jay Z makes the mainstream garbage for bytches and mainstream fans. He leaves 20% of the album to show what he's capable of. I personally aint listened to Jay Z in years, but this has been his model since his 2nd album. After RD, he chose a format and stuck to it and it's made him very wealthy.

Hov is in my top 3 and I got him over Kendrick, 3K and thought.

With that said, I wouldn't knock someone fir thinking Kendrick, 3K and thought is better than Hov. It's a respectable opinion, all 3 have legendary careers like Jay does. It isn't like he's saying Silk the Shocker or Ja Rule is better. It's a respectable opinion.

It’s almost 100% always the media/industry dudes who say Jayz is the best, you ever notice that? Like you never see him called the best really online and/or by casual people…at least I don’t see it. Spooky, lol. And, if you were to ask these incentivized ass dudes to explain why he’s the best, I bet you they’d have trash answers, even someone like Budden who should be able to explain why well. Outside of tenure, he is definitely not clearly the best rapper ever, hell no, Buddens and them are admitted D eaters
