The term that Hanako uses is severance. Essentially, with Aoi's sacrifice, the human side and the supernatural side are explicitly separated. Unsurprisingly, Teru knew if the situation with Aoi. Though, the farewell between Hanako and Nene was heartbreaking. Given the situation, Hanako wasn't planning to have Aoi be sacrificed, but when the opportunity presented itself, he took it. It fulfilled Nene's wish of living a longer life in the real world. After all, he could have cared less about Aoi as he was aware of the situation where everyone lives happily ever after wasn't a realistic possibility.

Though they captured Nene's anger and sadness extremely well. Since, of course, at first, this wasn't what she wished for. She wanted to live alongside Aoi because she considers Aoi her best friend. The moment reality hit her that while yes this outcome isn't what she wanted. At the same time, she realized she couldn't blame Hanako in which her anger turned into sadness. When she goes from attempting to him to begging him to stay. Even more heartbreaking was Hanako's wish of living alongside Nene. Though Hanako is already dead, so that would never happen.

Teru continues to be one of the most mysterious characters in this series. At times, he feels like on their side and other times he feels like he is against them. Though, it seems like part of his plan was to get Nene and Akane's spirits up. As Akane points out that Teru is extremely practical, so there must be a chance to save Aoi. In which would revert the severance. Though as pointed by Teru that the way to get to a boundary within the school no longer exists. Though, Akane can deduce that Teru mainly takes care of the supernaturals outside of school. One hint is how Teru talks about the school's mysteries. In some ways, they are neither friend nor foe. Letting them take care of the school would be a logical choice as an exorcist, as long as his brother was safe. The key now will be to enter the boundary from outside the school.

The plan becomes to find objects that have a strong connection to those school mysteries. Which for now, Teru assigns Nene & Kou to look into school mystery #3, which was Mitsuba. We haven't seen Kou for a while. His first mention to Nene is how to become a supernatural. In theory, for Nene to reunite and stay with Hanako this would be the solution she would want, but this doesn't align with her wish. Clearly there are things he is bottling up and the biggest thing is that now Mitsuba disappeared as well. Dealing with Mitsuba is hard because #3 is Mitsuba and isn't Mitsuba at the same time. Although, then visiting his grave got them to meet his mom, who is a sweetheart. It is clear his mom never had the job of having her son's friends over, so she takes pleasure in inviting Kou and Nene for helping her. We see that the Mitsuba the one we see is very much the one he was at home. Though his kind side, which we have seen from time and time again, is shown where we get the gist of his death. Just going out to buy ingredients at the wrong time resulted in that. The worst part is this happened on the mother's birthday. Imagine losing your son on your birthday. :mjcry:

Before Nene and Kou depart, Mitsuba's mom allows them to take photos that could potentially be objects, since Mitsuba loved taking photographs. Though, the one photo that they show Teru is the Red House. As he explains that since Nene still turns into a fish, curses still exist in the world. So that house is still haunted, and just the fact Teru said straight up they would die if they go was enough to speak of the danger. Of course, Nene & Kou are both good kids and naively enter it thinking a kid was trapped there. Though when they finally see the kid, he has an odd resemblance to Amane at a glance.

Damn, this was a loaded Frieren chapter. :whew:

We basically got confirmation that Kreis is Gorilla. Though, from the flashbacks we had earlier in the series, he seems so different. As a Shadow Warrior, was his friendship from Sein an act or deep down he still values it. I guess it's more so a mystery.

Though, following this up, I really liked Frieren and Sein's conversation. It was very mature because Frieren explicitly states that her goal is to protect Fern and Stark. Of course, the land is where Flamme brought magic, so it is something Frieren wants to protect because we know how much she cares for Flamme. Though, her and Serie are still going at it even though they haven't met up in the capital in person.

Klematis seems like a cruel tactician, but he is not one to sacrifice or waste a pawn. One thing interesting is that in his conversation with Löwe where Löwe mentions he wants to eliminate magic. Meanwhile, Phrase seems clearly in favor of maintaining magic. Though, what Phrase mentions that murder isn't against the law if it is for the matter of the empire. Curious where this is going.

Honestly wasn't expecting to get a Rikka focused chapter from the start. But a great one as we have her teaming up with Hizumi who is the type of person Rikka hates to be associated with. Very much, the old Rikka wouldn't have cooperated with her. Though, the chance to achieve the promise to her friend.

Even more than that, the 3 panels of what she is excited to achieve along with fears really characterize the character Rikka is. She has her pride, but is immensely caring as well. Really hope everything goes well. As expected, Arisu is her rock when she is feeling vulnerable.

99449E3D-2581-48F0-B569-CE26B40B3DEE.png

The question remains, will this be a give and take situation. Iko wants Rikka's help, but given that Rikka has a lot on her plate, will Iko be able to help Rikka in some way?

The topic of Gardens was interesting. Though, the mention of a Garden nobody sees holds no value. Though that can be interpreted that the creator takes great value in their own garden.

5F81C6F2-5C78-4FC4-8861-00D513B42AE9.png

The Gardner himself, as stated by the Prince, has his illusions feeling very much real. Unlike the Prince's previous experience with them, which were meant to forget reality. He makes his gardens because he wants to fix the ugly, but can't accept the reality of this world. Understanding magic seems to also imply understanding the dangers as well. It seems the Gardner's ambition is one example of it would be dangerous to practice magic. Though, it is said that he would reach his potential as a Gardner.

Really nice focus on the impact both Rose and Will have been on Colette. Will is the one that pulled her out of despair, and Rose has clearly been her best friend and knows how to Colette back on her feet. Though why did it seem like Cariott was aiming for Colette along with giving hints to Sion that he knows about the traitor, there clearly is something up?

At least for Wignall though Filvis and Lefiya it is very safe to assume that they aren't involved. Even adding that they are proud to see how much Wignall has grown. Even more so, they even voiced their displeasure with Eleanor when she wasn't present. Though it does feel that Wignall needs to figure out why Eleanor has this cold exterior now and hopefully, it doesn't have to do with the traitor.

Though, seeing some new faces in the Thunder faction, and it seems even more uncomfortable for both Will & Lihanna. There is a dungeon expedition, but it seems to revolve in the tower instead. Though with Mercedes, the Mage Queen creating guards for the tower, which can be seen as the monster equivalent for the dungeon. Could it symbolize the tower as the wand and the dungeon as the sword? Conquering both is the key. Though, the feeling of being watched by their fellow members just adds to the layer of uncomfortable.

Still no surprise, Will hasn't done much to best Zeo. Still, a very interesting decision to tell Zeo about Gothia and their puppet magic. It is most likely a smart call from Will, since given Zeo's personality from the jump about strength, it doesn't make sense for Zeo himself to ally with the traitor. The time spent training for him has made it obvious. Hell, him offering info if Will lands a hit showcases that even more. Of course, Finn is on the move as well.

Catching up to Sunday Jump.

Man Sakamoto Days easily holding itself as easily one of the best action mangas in terms of fight choreography and creativity as well. It's easily the best in Jump.

It is fascinating that potentially, Shin can use his word ESP skill on himself. Though I do doubt it is as simple as only once per person. Granted, it is difficult to test it out. But damn Tenkyu coming right back with that shot on Shin :damn:

At this point, Samura and his motives are a giant wild card. Though, it makes sense to believe that Samura wants the enchantment blades out, so at some point there will be a conflict between him and Hishaku from the side of Kamunabi. Also, it is clear why Samura would want to free Chihiro from his enchantment blade. As he doesn't deserve to suffer like the others from the war. Though, it is no doubt that Chihiro won't stand down and take up Enten again. Though, how he can kill and revive Chihiro is another matter.

Drama Queen Chapter 2

Man, I don't know what the author is on with manga man :dead:.

Curious bit at the end where Ichi went straight to the bloodlust. Though the fact he found a Majik or at least it is something equivalent. Although I wonder why it looks human?

Honestly, this chapter draws a parallel to Yumeka's arc, where Natsu had the drive to keep pushing and at the same time, Yumeka ended up quitting. Though, as Natsu's father has pointed about how realistic a future in basketball is, and she is working as hard as she can. Hell, Yumeka even mentioning that it was good to take time off gets under Natsu's skin. Kind of shows the frustration of when you are trying your best, and it isn't good enough. This is one example of the luxury of Yumeka's talent that Natsu simply doesn't have.

Though at the same time, we get to see the strength of Natsu's relationship with Taiki. Where we see that she can come to him for these things. As letting out the frustration is best and really shows that Natsu has these issues that even Taiki has.

It looks like the end is in sight here. As both Momo and Tsubomi say their farewells, Taiyo mentions to Asa that Yozakura is about the family. He can say it all he wants, but it is clear what are his true intentions, and he has lusted for power. However, there was a time with his daughter where he had that same feel for family. For Taiyo he knows he needs to protect it even if it costs him his life. Though, what does Kyo do next? Sacrifice himself using his true spring blooming?

This chapter really is a great highlight on what Issho is and what he used to be. As we see him in his first performance, the idea of creating something out of nothing is perfectly illustrated. As he looks back at his time in the soba shop and that has created the opportunity with Rakugo.

Sadly, Kiroku and the boys getting expelled wasn't surprising, it is just said. As much the kids hated to see their master give up their careers for them, we see the answer from Kiroku was beautiful in a reply. He would be betraying his ideals if he were to sacrifice his students for a title. Though, the 3 of them starting from nothing again is quite poetic. We have an idea where the story of these three goes from here.

On one side, it is clear to see why Issho values the art so much over tradition. However, because he values the art so high, he became the thing same thing as the masters that expelled him. For Akane the key will be valuing both tradition and the art.

The fact that when Kou mentioned that the kid looked more like Tsukasa that is when you figured something bad was about to happen and sure enough, Nene trying to live with the kid ends up with her missing. One thing about the house that is clear is that it feeds on your desires. Kou feeling hungry, seeing food. Needing a weapon just to be safe. Mitsuba appearing it made it clear that it was the Red House's intention to kill him. You make a wish and that wish will cost you your life, perhaps? Though the real quicker was Kou seeing his mom because Kou lost his mom when he was young. Kou from what he has seen of him, takes the responsibilities that his mother had and is making sure his younger sister doesn't want to not have a motherly figure in her life. Granted, Kou is still both a boy and a kid, but you can tell the sacrifices he made. Him running to take a wish would be taking the easy way out. Losing his mother, and the personalities of Hanako and Teru are things he had to work with. Kou has growing up to do, but he has persevered through a lot, and that is why Teru has confidence in him.

We're getting a big backstory of the Yugi brothers. It was actually Amane who the one that was sickly. Essentially, he sick bound and was destined to die before he turned 4. What his parents saw as a miracle, we know there is no such thing as a lucky miracle in this series. You tell easily that Tsukasa loved Amane, which we can see in the present as he has a smile on his face whenever Tsukasa runs into Amane. However, the question Amane loving Tsukasa was an important one because Tsukasa sacrificed himself so Amane can live. The fact that Amane killed Tsukasa, does this mean that Amane learned he got to live because of Tsukasa's sacrifice. More and more his guilt is why people consider him a murderer? Though given that Tsukasa returned and his mother who loved him to death said he wasn't her son. A mother knows their child to their heart, and was the kid who returned truly Tsukasa? It's hard to say, but Tsukasa's sacrifice is what most likely should have had Amane work at the school. What exactly happened to change and Tsukasa coming back has to do with it? Although it could also be that the real Tsukasa has been trapped as a 4-year-old in the Red house while his desires lived on since he sacrificed himself for his brother.

Getting to the side of Teru and Akane we see that they are still trying to figure out how to infiltrate the boundary. It is interesting to note of the relationship between exorcists and the shrines they help out. Basically, it can be seen as exorcists like Teru are the exterminators of the supernatural. They each need each other. Once Akane got the call from the Red House, the shyt hit the fan. For the first time, we finally see Teru show his true self. Honestly, not sure what exactly the relationship is between him and his father, but Teru is clear overworked. It was apparent before, but this revealed it on a whole nother level. It is surprising to think that Aoi is important to Teru, but for a different reason than Akane most likely. Still, he finally decides to take action instead of doing things the proper way. Curious how this affects him going forward.

Finally, to wrap things up, we see that at least Nene isn't dead yet. But where she is stuck is not desirable. It is learned that this is the place that all Kannagi end up, but Aoi doesn't seem to be here. Although Tsukasa is here, would this mean this is the location that all sacrifices go to? Though, the mention that Tsukasa is here and managed to escape essentially means, there is a path back to the Red House. I am not sure how Tsukasa made it back, but at the very least, Nene thanks to her curse, regroups with Kou. Now, how they tackle it from here is important.

The Minister of justice came off a bit shady here, but feels like there is a long-term beef between him and the House of Auditors. If I recall, Nagami is the one Toya was with before the whole chaos happened, and he is part of the Ministry of Auditors.

Nice to see Toya is alright, and you can see how happy Yuki is. Though Shohei is not looking good, but that is the reality of what happened.

Thinking how that puppy was what they were protecting makes you look at that puppy in another viewpoint. The puppy is a member of their family.

Though, Hikishima's words cut deep into Makoto. Cutting yourself off the world from making connections is easy. Losing people you care about is hard and no one wants to experience that feeling. But making the connections and the highs of that is why we form them.

So it is confirmed now that Shin's hijack power only works once on another person, but can be used on himself. I do think in some situations this is a big help, but him forcing his brain to perform at max capacity he has to feel severe consequences. Still, it is a nice ace to have in his back pocket.

But man, Shin crying not because he doesn't want to kill, but because he would kill is a nice angle. It shows him that since he is willing to do that, he doesn't belong with the Sakamoto Family and Co. As expected, Taro is about to knock some sense into Shin.

One strong strength of this manga is how it deals with various factions and what they do going forward.

  • For Kamunabi they know Hishaku and Samura will eventually oppose each other. Playing into Samura's hands is one thing. But now we got news of Samura's daughter. The worst-case scenario is if Hishaku kidnaps her.
  • While for Hishaku they may have an alliance with Samura for now, but using his daughter as leverage can be huge for them. For Samura to protect his daughter, even if it means losing his connection with her, shows how much he loves her.
  • More and more Samura is quite the tragic character. The guilt of what happened with the war and the enchanted blades. To add, moreover, he sacrificed his connection to his daughter. Gotta feel really bad for him.
With Hishaku on the move to kidnap her, Chihiro and the ninjas gotta make their moves fast. Otherwise, Hishaku will get a big upper hand.

Nice chapter for a nice insight on Natsu and how she has changed. Where she isn't bottling it up, but rather relying on others. Which in turn has her feeling very relaxed and happy. Much like how Natsu inspired and elevated Taiki, this shows once again Taiki has done the same for Natsu.

Her reaching out to her dad was a big step because it isn't the norm for her. It is important for Natsu to get her father to understand what she is going through. By telling him, he can understand better. The one thing that will never change is that she loves basketball. Very curious how this match will go.

Man, this manga really highlights Taiyo and Kyo's dynamic and how good it is. Taiyo would do anything to protect his family, and I mean ANYTHING. Kyo knowing the strong possibility, had this in his back pocket. The Inverse of Void, which can be interrupted by death, is life. Loved how Kyo read him like a book, given how well these two know each other.

No surprise, Kyo messing with Taiyo one more time, but hey I loved the series for staying true to itself. It has been about the Yozakura Family, and it has always been a comfort series. Going to be said when it finally reaches its end, as it's close.

So Shiguma and Issho were supposed to carry on the name of Kiroku. Rouken and Kisoba. Though when you see Shiguma, he is determined to this moment into a funny story emphasizes how he currently is. Feels like he understood what Kiroku wanted to teach these two. While Issho was laced with guilt. Which you get the sense he still has in the present.

Despite Issho changing his name after the current Shiguma received his title, he still uses the Kanji as the Ki in Kiroku. I fear that there is a lot within Issho and why he changed. Was it the familiar not to carry on Kiroku properly with his partner?

Ichi The Witch - Chapter 15

Well, this is S-tier Majik labeled the World Hater Majik, which causes destruction and disasters. Instead, death is brought and comparison of Uroro being King of Majiks then he is a God. I am not surprised Ichi is itching for a fight, but this def feels way above his weight class. The manga has been great, but we haven't had proper tension until this chapter.

Centuria - Chapter 34

I wonder why Lacrima was considered a failure. I guess she is reliant on water because at some point she needs if she attacks recklessly or is taking damage and shifting her body. Curious how Julian gets out of this. Though Julian showing what he has learned in able to adapt pretty well at the beginning of the fight.

The Elusive Samurai - Chapter 184

He feels very akin to what you think of a stepfather to Tokiyuki. He isn't as affectionate as Yorishige nor is he the older brother who wants to see Tokiyuki grow like Akiie.

For Sadamune he has been more a foe to Tokiyuki, but he has been against him since the start. Honestly, he may know him better than some of his allies. They are always competing against each other, and it is a shame that this is the last time. It is that competitiveness between the two is what draws them closer together.

Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi - Chapter 25

Oh, I like this. Kiyoshi being the "Ultimate Exorcist", was always able to take care of his foes, but one issue was he was never efficient. After all, if you one-shot them, does it matter if you are efficient? But now the foes are getting tougher and not being efficient will hurt him eventually. Basically, he will be overexerting himself, which could lead to an L when it could have been a W.

This does give Akari a nice place in the story. I hope she can level up her power, as that is her clear weakness.

As Nene comes back to Kou, a layer of mystery surrounding Tsukasa gets added. We already know that Amane was sick growing up, and Tsukasa's wish is what saved his brother. Though the source of the wishes is still a mystery as it is something that eases up. Though looking back, it seems Amane was jealous of Tsukasa for being born healthy. Which is what made Tsukasa think that Amane really hates him. Despite the real fact, he was suffering through so much. So who is Tsukasa that we know in the present as a supernatural? As Kou points out, something isn't right. Especially the bit of Tsukasa that we learn from the flashback from the point of view of Teru. So Tsukasa made a sacrifice to make his family happy, but as a kid blind the fact that his family loved him. At least Tsukasa is on board with leaving.

Although, when Kou and Nene come out, they don't see Tsukasa alongside them. This makes sense since Tsukasa is from the past. Though it is really difficult to make Tsukasa out, but at least it seems that who we know might be the embodiment of the curse of the Red House maybe? Also, this is the 2nd time Nene has affected something on the boundary. The other time was when he met Amane in which he made the wish of wanting to meet Nene again, which he does. It is curious if these things change things since the ages of Amane and Tsukasa comes from the past. As Nene and Kou comes back to meet up with Akane and Teru, Nene learns something I think she wished she didn't hear. Teru's plans of killing Hanako while saving Aoi. While his logic makes sense, at the same time, Nene is the heroine of our story, and she wants to save Hanako alongside Aoi.

As the 4 of them enter the boundary, we cut to Aoi who is with Hanako. We know that while Hanako doesn't regret sacrificing Aoi to save Nene, we know he doesn't hate Aoi in any way. Though, as Aoi talks about Akane and how he was a person true to himself. Which was something she loved and hated about him because she had trouble with that. It draws a parallel to Hanako and his relationship to Nene. Clearly he loved at this point, and Hanako hasn't opened up much to Nene. Like Akane Nene is very true to himself, which drew her to him and why he wanted to save her.

As Akane finds and saves Aoi from being eaten, Teru encounters Hanako. As we know, he sought to kill him. Honestly, we haven't gotten to see Teru's strength too often, and this fight really showcases that he is even a league above Hanako. Though, the fact Teru claims he would kill Nene makes for a situation very complicated for Hanako. Although for Teru to kill Nene out of spite for what Hanako did is rather curious. This might be the slight difference between Akane and Teru because I don't think Akane would do something that would go against what Aoi would have wanted. It shouldn't come as a surprise that Kou wasn't on board to kill Hanako. This gives Nene the opportunity to escape alongside him. Though there is a concern with Kou's current situation.

The guilt that Makoto felt about Moesawa's little brother really showed how it can feel to change someone's perception of what they like and dislike. He forced him to love milk, and granted this was temporary and nothing seemed to change. Like much in life, what we like and dislikes needs a balance. The reason we enjoy things because they hold value in the things we don't enjoy. Obviously, as an adult the key is to slowly adjust them because things like vegetables might not taste good, but they have nutritional value which you would ease yourself to it.

While the hack for Takehiro was more relatable because any short kid would want to be taller. Though here the slight miscalculation created a glitch in the hack, it seems.

Another fun and a good way to make the hacks seem disturbing. The kid getting obsessed over milk and Takehiro's body almost glitching out.

As Nene runs off with Hanako she clearly puts her feelings out there. Sure, Hanako put more dirt on his hands so that Nene could live the best live that she could, but at the end of the day, Nene is very idealistic. She wants to live her ideal life and at this point makes it clear would rather live with what she has, even if it is cut short. Is it realistic? No, but this is the character Nene has always been. The beyond optimistic fulling believing in her feelings.

The other token we got, the aftermath between the Minamoto brothers. Quite simply, as an exorcist, Teru doesn't think much of Kou at this point. Though, it's straightforward to understand Kou's POV because he has always been protected and never seen Teru work. Obviously, Kou didn't mind staying home, filling the role of his mother once she died so that their little sister could have the life she should have had. Though at this point you can feel that confidence that Teru had for Kou, did he ever have that? Very similarly to Hanako protecting Nene and not understanding his true feelings, we have the same with Teru protecting Kou here. It is actually worse because Kou's voice is empty to Teru. Even worse, when the #6 school mystery comes back and takes down Teru and Akane, Kou is once again powerless.

We know finally get the flashbacks of #6. As it was mentioned before, he was an oni that worked for the Minamoto family after they wiped out the existing oni. He basically became their servant and did various tasks. We know that he looked after the respective Kannagi. Which led him to take care of Sumire Akane when she was very young. It feels that Sumire understood the situation well, but made the most of the life she had left. Perhaps this is what Nene seeks to make the most of what she has left of her ideal life. Despite #6 supposed to be looking after Sumire, it very much feels like a husband - wife relationship. A big key is when Sumire answers for why she takes care of the creatures. Her answer of wanting someone to go to hell for her and mourn her to reach that point comes across as odd. Though, it truly symbolizes how she knows her life doesn't have much time. Will this person be able to go above and beyond to protect me. Obviously, the animals couldn't do that, but maybe #6 can?

Sadly, as Sumire gets blamed for still living, we see bits that #6 really coming to love her. The issue with #6 and Sumire is that Sumire wanted to be saved, but never asked to be saved. #6 wanted to save her, but wanted Sumire to ask to be saved. Very tragic that the two of them wanting the same outcome, but not communicating led to Sumire being sacrificed, but was there anything #6 could have done? #6 attacked the village until he was killed off. Simply living the regrets of what he should have done.

Kou is the one still putting up some fight left to #6, but there is very little energy left. In all honestly, the three guys themselves most likely couldn't hold their own against #6. #6 not wishing to do unneeded killing. Kou doesn't want to die, but he has people he wants to save, and he is willing to put his life on the line. Kou's line of pushing for his happiness is something #6 never did when he lived. Perhaps he saw something in Kou, but that time allowed him to launch a big blow. Though, we slowly meet with Natsuhiko where his group finally captures #6.

As we move back to Hanako and Nene it is interesting that Nene mentions she is ok with dying and being a supernatural. As much as that would make Hanako happy, he knows the reality that dying and supernatural aren't the same thing. We have seen with Mitsuba that he lost the self that was there when he lived. It was harsh, but Hanako didn't want to see Nene the shell of herself. After all, that is the Nene he loves. Although as Tsukasa mentions that Amane is being a hypocrite. After Amane killed Tsukasa or the being that was Tsukasa, it seemed he killed himself. Still a bit of the Yugi family that we don't know. Though it is clear, the guilt of killing his younger brother just made him suicidal to the life that Tsukasa gave him with his wish. We know that Tsukasa only deals with the wishes of the supernatural, so he comes for Amane's wish, not Nene. We start to see that Hanako mentioned killing the school mysteries and getting a wish from God. Very curious where this is headed now.

Man the wrinkles this volume added :whew:

Honestly, Sakura has been a character that has been working for Tsukasa, beyond that, not much else. It was speculated that both Sakura and Natsuhiko are both students, like Nene and Kou are. The mention of a wish to go outside of being Sakura's wish, according to Tsukasa. However, Tsukasa only grants wishes for supernaturals. With the comment of Sakura wanting to go outside, does this imply that Sakura is a supernatural. Then, if the goal is to destroy the Yorishiros of the school mysteries, it could meet the end for the living, dead and supernaturals. Just what is their plan?

Part of the plan was to take care of #6's Yorishiro, Sumire Akane. As we know, Nene can take care of them. It was quite obvious Nene would never do something to hurt Sumire whom she holds dear. Which brings the reunion of Sumire and #6 or as we learn his name is Hakubo. As Sumire saw Hanako going out of his way to protect Nene, which Sumire wishes Hakubo did for her. Hakubo sees Kou declaring he will make everyone happy in a fairy tale like outcome. They saw the others do what they wished they did. Ultimately, they loved each other. Hakubo wanted to save Sumire and Sumire wanted Hakubo to save her. In many ways, being Hakubo's Yorishiro is a misery for Sumire. Despite being the thing he most cherished, to save Sumire he would have to do what Nene could not do. At least Hakubo can do what he couldn't before.

As the boundary is breaking, Nene meets up with Sakura, who explains the situation. Aoi is safe now and regarding Nene's life span, she doesn't have too much to be concerned about in the short term. Though the sight of Hakubo eating Sumire is still there and Sakura gives Nene a taste of reality. Of course, Nene was quick to blame herself, which wasn't Sakura's intention. So the dilemma for Nene now is regarding Hanako's Yorishiro. It is quick to assume that his Yorishiro is Nene, but it doesn't make sense, since he really has been fond of Nene since he was a supernatural. Clearly, Tsukasa is Hanako's Yorishiro. The curious point, does Hanako even know that. Clearly, Tsukasa wants to see if Amane kills his brother again and Hanako is motivated to deal with the school mysteries because it will help resolve Nene's lifespan issue. Still, the idea of Hanako killing his brother scares Nene.

The rest of the volume was more chill and focused on how the characters are moving forward. Teru is in shock over the events with Kou. His dear younger brother going against him. Thankfully, they talked it over. It is interesting when Teru is messing up with the cooking that he could understand why Teru was getting frustrated. Though as Teru accepts Kou wanting to become an exorcist, the same for Kou opening up his brother to cook with him. As expected, Aoi and Nene made up despite what Aoi did in the boundary. Still, it is interesting that now Aoi can see supernaturals. The last bit was Kou seeing Mitsuba, and I am curious why he came to Kou's house since he's a supernatural.

Read through Undead Unluck Volume 4

Man, the Billy betraying them twist is so good :wow:

Fuuko saying she understands the feeling of when someone saves her, but not if that person betrays her :mjcry:

I was not expecting the first chapter of it to be based on Kakeru and Kazane. Really, a sweet moment for her, Kazane to realize how big of a rock Kakeru has been for her. I really thought she confessed, but she had to take it back based on the Love Game, which Kakeru has no idea what it is. Though it's clear that her feelings aren't one sides.

I was curious what the play was for Tanpopo would be. After their first attempt failed, but it was smart to notice, it was simply defending itself. Very clever idea for her to purify from within. Nice play from Tanpopo because if you are to stick to your ideals you better work for them. Just when she needed the extra push, she was able to get Peony to help her. Kind of shows the energy and influence Tanpopo can have.

So here we got introduced to the Dragon Eightfold, which is a very inspiring group to belong to. Strength from a Demi-dragon can be used from their head, claws or tail. Makes you wonder, what is Kamuna's strength. Hard to speculate, but him sparring with Gindu makes for an awkward training match.

The lesson Sanada wanted to teach Leo was basically thinking things too logical in battle can be a bad habit. More so, the idea of being upon to things on what your opponent might be willing to do.

It is now confirmed of Milly's gift in that she received from Leo's father. Also, his father is her reason for being here. She is clearly not the other mole, but she wants a genuine conversation with her. I fear what will happen if she learns the truth.

As others said, it's good that Yuri is keeping Leo in check about gathering allies because they just might not be in a position to do much. Also, the information about the tactical Recon unit feels important to keep in mind.

This series really knows how to show how to make manga. But the fact that you can see these techniques in the series itself is awesome.

The series continues to shine. To show the difference between an amateur mangaka and a professional. The biggest thing is the hook in the storyboards. Simply, Barazono-sensei has a purpose. She uses the art to also drive in what is happening rather than telling with exposition like Wakaba is doing. It is good Wakaba adapted to that fast, but now the test in making an entertaining, compelling storyboard for Fudo.

The puzzle pieces of Barazono-sensei and Wakaba side by side shows that Wakaba is improving, but the last page shows that Wakaba is being drained. She just needs that extra push. Hopefully, Fudo picks up on it and gives her words of encouragement to keep her moving forward.

Been bored all week and decided to read Blue Box.

Gotta say, for a series I was pretty impressed by the first 6-7 episodes it seemed that was pretty much the most interesting part of the story as it felt more like a sports SOL with some romance:pachaha:but then it becomes a full blown romance with some sports sprinkled in to give it a more refreshing setting. There's nothing wrong with the series by itself but it did not stand at all in terms of characters or overall plot to me. The main thing it has going for it is limiting the annoying "it's a misunderstanding!" troupe and having characters be way more honest and "human" than usual.

I guess the bar is so low that a more normal setting for a manga/anime makes it stand out so much. But still, as a read, I was not that impressed by it, a ton of chapters I just skimmed through to get to the next one (or even the next arc).

I have a love hate relationship with this series because on one if you are looking for the romance, it works really well, building on the leads and their motivations and how they push each other. There is no doubt it is a romance series masquerading as a SoL Sports.

But the issue, I just feel there is a lot of missed potential. Like with the sports angle, it's used as a crutch to boost the romance than anything else. If this was a 50:50 split, romance and sports, I think that would be perfect. Since usually if you get romance in sports anime, it plays a small role.

Honestly, the anime is a disappointment for me because it is too faithful. For the romance part, again, this isn't an issue. But I felt they could have elevated the sports sections, like the biggest one is Taiki and Yusa's first match. I guess with how visually stunning the art is in the anime I should have expected this, but when you see series like Frieren, Dungeon Meshi, Apothecary Diaries, Monogatari and Dandadan going above and beyond with their adaptations. Well, the manga gets points at least for not ending when the main couple gets together.

Though the romance writing is more subtle, so if you were skimming chapters, you would miss some more subtle stuff. That allows the romance side to shine at least.
