Though the romance writing is more subtle, so if you were skimming chapters, you would miss some more subtle stuff. That allows the romance side to shine at least.
Nah, I'm caught up and don't feel I missed anything really significant. I don't need to read with attention the 3rd, 4th or 5th flashback with Chinatsu junior high friend. Or the new kid that's gonna end up with Hina, or the basketball dude that wanted to be with Chinatsu. There's tons of stuff that isn't that compelling to me to read in detail.

Agreed on what you said on the anime. Now I get why it fell off to me the way it did.

More so a build up volume. Though, it is clear that Kou and Mitsuba's friendship is a more complicated one than it shows on the surface. For Mitsuba since the severance happened, his body has been unstable. Him having to eat supernaturals and possibly living terrifies him. While Kou's point that humans eat to survive, he has to keep in mind he is eating other supernaturals. Humans don't eat other humans. Though at the same time, Kou is doing all he can to help Mitsuba become human again. Granted, doing that is an issue with Hanako because Mitsuba died as we learned the details from his mother. Though the request from Mitsuba for Kou to exorcise him is hard on Kou because he cares for him dearly. Before the Aquarium went all supernatural, you could tell Mitsuba was having a great time. With Kou winning their contest, at least exorcising is not happening for now.

Though, I wonder if Kou recognizing that making Mitsuba 100% happy isn't going to happen. Kou is very idealistic, but Mitsuba being human again is a touch out of reality. Him accepting that is key. Also, how much longer can he interact with Mitsuba as he is still a supernatural? If their connection died, wouldn't it be a mercy to Mitsuba to exorcise him? Also, the Aquarium being a supernatural that just appeared shows the stuff that Teru has been dealing with.

As the fall festival starts getting prepared for Nene her class is playing "The Wizard of Oz". Though it is a reminder that since they were at the Minamoto household, Hanako couldn't be around them. Though, as Nene has Mitsuba "help" her, we get reminded that there is still a lot that Hanako hasn't told Nene. Obviously, it is a sensitive topic and Nene is too polite to openly ask Hanako about it. Though, the idea coming from Mitsuba for Nene to pour out her feelings since she already admitted she likes Hanako. Though before that starts, some weird time travel shenanigans seem to be in play as the fall festival approaches as those two are approached by a version of Tsukasa that attended the school. We very well likely might see stuff with school mystery #1 come into play. Though Tsukasa's words to Nene sound like a tease to follow with what he and Sakura have planned, after all, he knows she wants to learn more about Hanako's past as Amane.

Serie is someone that won't admit what she is feeling, but you can clearly read between the lines. Serie tries to get hey you and Fern don't have to be a part of it. Though I do think she gives Frieren respect as Fern's master. Of course, Frieren pointed out that you know damn well Sense would have gone to us. Everything has gone has Serie planned. Although all of them being those that surpassed her expectations is an interesting note.

  • For both Übel and Land, both request privileges that are very noble. Which you wouldn't expect them as they come across as more self-indulgent.
  • For Fern and Sense, they both request to improve their everyday lives. It is a use of magic I bet she never would have thought.
  • Though Falsch is the most intriguing. To being able to mimic another voice. I feel like that one will be important to remember.

You, this chapter pointed out that Rikka would make a good teacher. Obviously, Iko's strength in songwriting is worse than hers, but she can evaluate what she had and give her constructive criticism.

Though I do like how it examined how it is to write for a song for someone else. As we know, Rikka has been writing about songs for herself. For that, she wanted to understand Iko where we see a sharp difference between Rikka and Iko. Quite simply, Iko can be herself and her being dotted on as being cute in the universe.

For Rikka she has this cool reputation she has. She wants to cosplay as a maid with Iko, but everyone expects her to say no. I wonder if the big thing will lead up to her being more true to her desires. She even sees in Iko's writing it is about Arisu. Fun bit at the end with Rikka trying to be like Iko asking for help, but even Arisu mentions her reputation. This might be an internal thing Rikka would need to overcome on her own. Though, I feel Iko would be the one that would be the most help.

As expected, Yuna was the little princess when she was younger. We can see the bits of tsundere that she clearly gets from her mom. But man, they seem like such a sweet family. Though unlike the case with Yae and Asahi who came from more wealthy families, but the love wasn't there. Here you can absolutely see the love, but they were struggling. I got a bad feeling about what Yuna will learn.

Also interesting to note that Yuna Chiharu’s 2nd cousin. Interesting thing to note in this chapter.

The biggest uncertainty is Juiz as she uses Ark to reveal back in time before the world meets its doom. Though Victor's words of seeing the woman, you love suffering hits deep because at the end of the day, if Victor sees no hope in beating God, why let Juiz keep doing it. Though Victor, seeing that Andy and Fuuko can be that change is quite neat.

Akira Kuno in many ways, lost his life when he became a negator. Rather than be engulfed in suffering, he decided he can still write the manga for his mom to see. Also, add on the story of Fuuko and Andy was a light for her. The battle for Autumn is the point that they lost. SO for him to make a difference was great. Furthermore, the curious point is him calling Rip a hero. As we learn that he was in love with Tatiana's older sister, and he lost her. His goal to bring her back and Akira mentioning he can't use Ark is a setback. Though, what are his goals in relation to Andy and others. Also, Billy in particular.

Catching up with Sunday Jump

Alright, Anya shenanigan was hilarious in this chapter. Honestly, Melinda's character is very and how she is similar to Damian. Though the difference which is clear is that the thought of her husband terrors Melinda. The fact she had to keep this a secret with Yor just tells how unhealthy the marriage is for Melinda. I figured it to be bad, but got this is much worse than I originally imagined. I wonder if Melinda used to be like Damian, where she did everything to make her husband happy. And never received the loved that sh sought out from him. I wonder if Damian is on that path.

I've to say Yor has been more helpful to Loid than Anya, since now, Melinda is his patient. Curious where this goes.

The funny thing of Torres recovering Atari is for a gambler he is going after someone that can see the future. At least that is what it appears to the JCC. I bet Torres loves the thrill of gambling, and knowing which pull is the win ruins the fun.

I have to admit, Heisuke against Torres leaves me nervous, but let's see what Heisuke can do here. We are getting Taro and Shin to flashback back to when they first met. I feel like Shin might have been a dude who left a strong impression on Taro, and he might know Shin better than Shin knows himself.

Each chapter, we really get to understand more and more how much Ichi loves to hunt. Even staring into death isn't an issue. Though I do feel he might be biting off more than he can chew here in this fight.

To think, Natsu as a kid was very energetic, and she just gradually became more reserved. Her father, like us, seeing the impact Taiki had on her life. More so, he understands more and more why Taiki and Natsu are dating.

The basketball match between Natsu and Yumeka's teams is very personal for both Natsu and Yumeka. It is one final match between them. Excited to where this goes.

The sad part is her getting beat is seen a positive. Like he is just not ignoring me. It is essentially the same thing the other siblings did to her, but worse.

But between Lacrima crying in her sleep and showing a simple act of kindness. Hell, Julian understands why she is after her. The seed of feeling kindness for the first time is given to her. She is a character that could be intriguing going forward.

So the Shiguma school might be disbanded, but the bonds will remain, but I love that the fire for them to reunite. Now, regarding the pairings for the Shiguma school.

  • Koguma with Ikken seems like a safe thing for him. I am curious if he can bring Koguma's confidence a bit more.
  • Kyouji with Zensho is uh man. Though honestly out of the Shiguma students, he's the best to deal with Zensho.
  • Guriko with Taizen might have an awkward adjustment, since Taizen can be quite awkward. But if he does well, his potential for growth could be nice.
  • Akane with Issho is the one the series has been building up. Issho has been an antagonist, bit by bit more gets revealed about, and he becomes more compelling. The piece regarding Shigumas art and for her to learn about it is interesting. It still doesn't take away of her motivations regarding her dad. Curious how she grows with her time with Issho. The possibility of her understanding Issho's side has great potential.

Yeah, in many ways, the fake Kojiro found his place. It is very like Tokiyuki for him to spread rumors, but Kojiro and Shina have a nice dynamic. It is sad to think what his life could have been with his father and brother, but it is sweet to see him be happy for the life he has had.

Mission: Yozakura Family Chapter 246

In many ways, Kyo allowing Taiyo to get the ring could be him wanting Mutsumi to be happy back then. At the time, he seemed all overprotective, but we knew that lifestyle would have made her unhappy. Taiyo and Kyo's dynamic from the start to the end of the series has been fun to read.

After beating Autumn, the idea of the Union & Under working together sounds great and idealistic. However, at the end of the Under is simply an organization that prioritizes what Juiz declares its goals are, which is justice for everyone, not the majority. As expected, Rip won't budge since he needs Ark to travel back in time to save Latla's sister whom he loved.

6C1F6008-9653-4518-B815-4D78C67CEBA2.jpg

The idea of these sides teaming up isn't an idea only wanted by Fuuko as Juiz asks Billy to join forces again. Of course, it makes sense for Juiz to not want to fight against Billy. Though she does offer a good amount of knowledge and the Ark is a vital tool, thus keeping both Winter and the Roundtable hostage leaves Billy in the driver's seat. Funny enough, it was because of the Ark that Juiz learned that the artifacts were made by God to kill God. The thing with Juiz it may or may not be bullshyt that Ark is only good for one more round. After all, who knows how many loops she has gone through. And why suddenly Ark can be only good for one more trip? There is something suspicious about this. Though two key things, Juiz says that is important. The first we know that her resolve to kill God we know comes from the heart, as Victor hates to see Juiz suffer. Juiz wanted to make Victor smile. Victor knew that banking on more chances seemed silly, and it was painful for both of them. While Juiz just believed, they needed only one shot with the right team, and they could do it. Fuuko being the wild card that can ensure them the victory. After all, she would not be present if they fail again and her unluck can come up clutch.

Though given that Billy made all these preparations, it would have been silly for him to act all friendly with Juiz again. Though it is heartbreaking to hear that all this time since he joined the union, he never trusted anyone. He used everyone for his gain. Not so surprising, the fight starts between Billy and Juiz. Burn vs Spoil is an interesting fight, though it seems in that fight burn wins. Makes sense, even if something is spoiled, you can burn it away. Though, Spoil mentions how Concept type Umas like Winter look down on phenomena type Umas like Spoil and Burn. Though the fact that Juiz's unjustice works on Burn signifies his sense of justice, implies loyalty to Billy. To meet their maker, but does this differ from God?

Though, as Juiz uses Unjustice on Billy, he ends up beating her. Would that imply that what Billy said previous was a lie? That fighting is not what he wants? The reason he did not want to use Unjustice on Juiz could follow the same logic. Although as Billy indicates that capturing Unluck is the next goal for them. Given what Juiz said, it only makes sense to go get the biggest key to beating God. Of course, the other members of Under may have thoughts regarding that decision. Also, I expect Juiz not to give up on Billy.

While we got, Andy and Fuuko meeting up with Shen and Mui. A little bit of Shen's past is revealed. As him and his sister didn't have the best life, but Shen did everything if it meant protecting her. He even trained under Feng to provide the benefits for her. Though now Shen couldn't protect Mei, so him teaching under her seems reasonable. Given the stature of the opponent that faced Andy, which intrigued Shen to fight, made you wonder if this was Mei. Though it was revealed that this one is Shen's master, the one who is responsible for killing Mei. Though, it sounds like when Shen's Untruth manifested is when he had to hold on to Mei, and she let go. Technically speaking, Shen is responsible for Mei's death if that were the case. Of course, as Luo mentioned, having the siblings fight each other is just heartless. The artifact that Feng carries can seal anyone he kills and uses them, Jiangshi. Given Feng's words, Mei shouldn't be in there. Heartbreaking to learn of Shen's goal and motivates. Even more so, who is Mui, and why does she look so similar to Mei?

No surprise, Andy and Fuuko weren't standing by and jumped right in to fight Feng. Despite trying to find out what type of negator Feng is, he showcases nothing, but his pure hand-to-hand combat skills. Though given that he became 150 years younger when Rip got 15 years younger just makes his age suspicious. Unless he can negate death, making him undeath? Though, Feng's motivation to get Andy to fight doesn't work too well since protecting Fuuko is his goal. Though, I wonder how the tag team of Andy and Shen will work. Shen can't use Untruth on Feng because he despises him. However, him using it on Andy could provide an interesting idea. On a final note, Feng learning that bone fractures don't trigger Undead's repair abilities is interesting to note.

6 months to train and prepare is basically asking to do the impossible. Even the argument they will get experience when they get out there doesn't work too well. Captain Sanada has a lot of work. Though the page where we see her and Leo's master are crossing paths. It makes me wonder what is Sanada's past.

I've to be honest, I feel the cliffhanger is more bait. Considering that Leo's master says would make sense if he is talking about Leo. However, we know there is another recruit with the same plan as Leo. I feel like it, he was caught rather than Leo. Still, two weeks is rough for this type of cliffhanger.

Damn, Fuuko willing to join Under was expected, but a great way to end the volume.

As we learned from the last volume, Shen's motivation from the start is to get revenge on his sister. Even back in the fight against Spoil, Shen wanted to fight Victor simply to get stronger. The first thing Shen asks Andy is to fight him since he got stronger. Though, Andy's message to Shen was to not do it on his own. Though, it was cruel to see them team up to take the blow to protect both Mui and Fuuko. Unlike Andy, this hit would kill Shen. Though he still had some life left. I really loved the direction this took. While the solution of oh Shen will oh right would happen in most shounens. With the words from his sister in his thoughts, he understands he can still protect Mui. By using the Prayer Beads Artifact, this can allow Shen to still protect Mui. While yes, killing Shen is a cruel thing to do to Mui, but as long as she has that artifact he will be there to protect her. Despite Untruth coming out when he needed to save his sister, going through all that Shen a lot. He became like Feng, but once he met Mui he learned to love again.

It is quite interesting to see that Mui is inheriting Untruth since Shen died. Though there seems to be something different about it compared to when Shen used it. There is a more mental affect when Mui activates it. That simply could be we didn't see Shen use it outside practical uses in combat. The four of them beating Feng showed that teamwork and love conquers individual strength. This truth really shows up when they fight Summer in his 2nd phase. Apocalypse mentions how Summer is unbeatable in this phase because its cores need to be destroyed at the same time. The combination of Andy, Fuuko, Tatiana, Top, Chikara and Mui got it done.

Unlike the case with Autumn, Summer is destroyed. It is interesting that the concept of seasons, you lose Summer. In many ways, summer and winter cancel each other out. There is no stopping winter from consuming the earth. Which leads back to the differences of opinion between Juiz vs Billy? Juiz will protect all. While Billy is willing to sacrifice people if it means defeating God. Juiz has mentioned how big of a deal Fuuko can bring, and Billy knows this and is willing to wait it out. Juiz's views of justice won't allow her to call out Billy's bluff. This is a very fascinating direction to take the story, it allows Fuuko to finally develop on her own. While her and Andy were a team, it was always a focus on Andy and him taking the lead. So what will Fuuko do now is the question. Though I do love the resolve from Andy to say they are going to get Fuuko back.

As Fuuko makes her way to Under headquarters, there are a few things that standout. The first is that the bonds she made when fighting Autumn come in a big way here. Both Rip and Latla stand up for Fuuko. At the same time, the unbalanced roundtable really symbolizes the differences between Under and the Union. It is much more disorganized with Under, as each person fights for their own agenda. Which, in many ways, will create disputes. Compared to Union, they are all in agreement that they will do what it takes to fight God.

The next thing to deal with is Spring, and Billy wasn't kidding about the idea of dropping a nuke. For them, the lives of Tokyo is meaningless if it means taking out Spring without dealing with losses. Though, Spring feels like the most human out of the 4 seasons that we have seen. Even more, it uses an artifact of sorts where luck is a big factor. Which really makes it clear how big Fuuko is in the fight against Spring. Smart of Andy and the guys to head out to where Spring is. With Under having to bring Fuuko along, it is fascinating how this plays out.

Finished part 1 of chainsaw man, and it was a very good read. I felt the anime missed some details in the first season that was in the manga. I liked how certain details pop up back as you read, and there's nice character development and interesting plot. I was actually shocked reading the book because the anime doesn't prepare you for what part 1 is about. I can't wait for it to be animated because there are so many moments you want to see on a tv screen. My only gripe I knew the Makima turn was going to happen due to the major thing on scoail media is people getting angry about her. So, it pretty much made me realize early she is evil and most likely a devil. I just wasn't prepared for her to be one that powerful. I had a feeling she would be strong, but not like that. The emotional beat that she didn't care for Denji def hurt, but it was nice for him to know that.

I can't wait for them to animate the Kobeni DDR scene. I think it will go perfect if they show her playing DDR while Denji is fighting

I am unsure if i want to start part 2 or just wait for the run to be finished

I’d wait till part 2 is over tbh. Pacing has been all over the place and if you just binged part 1 it gonna feel rough in some ways.

As Fuuko's resolve has been tightened. Understanding Billy's intentions, contact the Union and evolve her Unluck. How she does these 3 will be key. We do see her doing everything in her power to contact Andy and when Under will go after Spring. Got to give Fuuko credit for being able to contact the Union. Though Andy's advice of befriending Yusai from Under. The question, given both her and Andy know each other, why is she in under? As Andy is preparing the plan and obviously, asking for the Union's help is hard. More so the fact that he is an Undead, but one wrong move, and it could cost someone his own life. So for once, we understand his pressure. Juiz really puts it in perspective that him and Victor are very much the same. As Juiz points out, the key is for Andy to believe in his teammates. As while, it can be scary to lose any of them. At the same time, you can only accomplish so much alone.

The first part of Andy's strategy is to use Top and Chikara against Undecrease. It is interesting to note that Undecrease is a bad matchup for Andy as in the face of infinite ammo, Andy will eventually lose out. The weakness of Undecrease is the durability of the weapons. Having Chikara stop him and Top deal a vicious blow will be the key. Though initially, Top is coming up short despite Chikara coming into his own at this moment. Despite messing up the first time, Chikara's words got to Top, and delivering a knock at the speed of light is what he needs. Chikara makes a great partner as he. Can stop Top before he hurts anyone.

Though learning Top's backstory, it is clear to why he has that hesitation. Top wasn't a kid who had a great upbringing. Though, he has always been fast and that was his key to helping his mom out. Though he was always someone that would rather help everyone rather than just himself. The fact that his Unstoppable ability surfaced as he was letting his friends win the race is incredibly sad. To lose friends for doing what you thought was kind is such a cruel thing to encounter. Though overcoming that has been key for Top and immobilizing Undecrease is a big moment for him.

As Andy and the guys are trying to reach the top, Andy has to learn to trust his teammates. Though, the attack Rip puts out puts him in an awkward position where he has to protect Juiz. Though, here is where it really sinks in for him that Andy loves Fuuko. The interesting part of Andy's encounter with Fuuko is. that it came on a whim. But it is one of those things that whim, can you experience a life-changing encounter? Now the curious part for Andy, does he even want to die anymore? As we know with Fuuko's feelings being away from Andy, we learn the same for Andy as he is willing to do anything to rescue Fuuko. Now the question remains, what else has Fuuko accomplished in this timeframe?

I love that Lacrima comes back the very next day. First sees how normal Diana is. Though, in contrast to people willing to kill other families, she only looked at her family as the example. With Titi mentioning how her brother killed Angvall who was like a mother to them, it makes me curious how that affects her going forward. Especially considering what is left of her current family shows her no kindness.

As Andy gets Fuuko from Billy's grasps, we end up with a 1-on-1 fight between Billy and Andy. Both the Union and Under are both seeking out to defeat Spring, though clearly Andy setting out to take back Fuuko is the main conflict. As Andy fights Billy, we are reminded of what his negator ability is, that he can copy the abilities of the other negators. For Andy, going against multiple of them is quite the challenge. Billy is smart and his strategy using them is to be applauded. He uses Unbalanced to keep Andy from being able to move around as much as he would like. Combining Unstoppable and Undead so he can attack with Unstoppable without the side effects since he will regenerate and heal from those wounds. Finally, combining Unmove to stop Andy from moving and using Unchange to trap Andy. It is a great strategy.

Though, the one drawback of this is that none of these abilities can reach their true potential. Knowing many trades, but a master of none. In this case, none of the negator skills that Billy uses can reach their full potential. We have seen Andy improve as the series has gotten closer to where Victor is, and that improvement of Undead is something Billy won't achieve. We remember seeing Victor creating copies of himself when he fired bullets back in the Spoil Arc. Here we see Andy making copies of himself using his own blood. Thus, this stops the issue of dealing with Unmove. Then him using the flaw of Unchange where there is lack of space for Billy and the regeneration from Undead is far weaker than it is for Andy. It creates a scenario where there it ends up as a draw. At this point, Fuuko is well in her way to go against Spring. The one important thing in the end is that Billy believes only the strong should fight against God. Though Andy's point that all the members of the Union are strong demonstrates his trust in them and, as we know, Billy never trusted in any of them.

The interesting thing between Unluck and Spring is how their situations are similar. We already know because of Unluck, Fuuko had a terrible life. Forced to be a shut in and couldn't even attend high school. For Spring, he was outcasted by humans as being a demon. We have seen Fuuko thanks to Andy to find a place to belong to. So she thinks she can do the same for Spring, despite him being a UMA. Though, before their best of 3 game starts, Spring gets darker. It is clear that God is getting quite involved in this manner. It really shows how awful God is here as he creates rules and UMAs to torture humans. Furthermore, it feels like it is more humanity is surviving to what God has unleashed on this world, basically as it watches them squirm.

E3F83099-C562-44E6-82C1-9854136099DF.jpg

For the first part of the game, Fuuko selects the top artifact as she sees a vision in the past which she sees Spring talking to Unbreakable. Of course, the Isshin that we see today is a woman. So it is not the same one that he befriended. Though for Isshin she had a rough past because unlike the other members of the Union that lost the people who they held dear because their abilities surfaced at the wrong time. Isshin was a different case because she knew she had the Unbreakable ability, but it never grew strong enough to protect her family. For an ability that relies on the confidence of the user, this is the worst-case scenario. Confidence is easy to lose. You understand why Billy only wants to be around whom he saw as strong because he could never see what Isshin could be. Rather, just who she was, just like Chikara. Of course, a battle of Undead vs Unbreakable will be a stalemate, which will eventually end up in Undead's favor. Though smart of Fuuko to trigger her Unluck through her blood, which will contact Andy. As her Unluck has shown to have triggered various amounts depending on the love she has for that person. Though the fact the meteorite came is quite scary, which most likely is compromised by their love. Though, through here, Isshin was finally able to protect someone. As Fuuko has done for Chikara and Tatiana before, she has allowed them to take the first step. Though Fuuko's plan to bring Unbreakable does seem to be paying off as Spring's memory of the Unbreakable he knew is coming back. Though as Billy has pointed out, she might just be added fuel to the fire from God.

As the 2nd game begins after Spring wins the first one, it is basically a game of guess which Negator it is. Of course, Spring just waits for Fuuko to pick a card attack and collect the card. One key in this round is this is where Fuuko's strategy differs from what Andy could do. She could go for feints, as Andy pointed out. However, for her to grow her Unluck she needs to think of something else. As she learns about Spring and relates to him, it is clear she empathizes with him. Empathizing is a different kind of love, which triggers her unluck. After being down 0-6 she finally touched Spring enough to trigger Unluck at an impressive rate for her to win 7-6 in the 2nd round.

As the memories of Unbreakable come back to Spring, we see him crying out. It seems for a moment he broke out of God's control. But as God takes control again, Spring requests to be killed. It all will come down to the final round.

The last few chapters of this volume were crazy :damn:

For a series where the world building is built around rules. Andy's point of how we work around those rules is a fascinating nod. Just like in life where we are circulated by the rules and laws provided to us and work around those. In the case of fighting Spring, it is simply about working around them. All attacks directed at Spring are negated? Well, aim for Andy and if Spring gets hit in the crossfire, there is nothing against that. Using the powers of Undead so that the target gets regenerated and be able to launch attacks. The big key is getting Fuuko to the core to finish the game because with God interfering it is causing too much chaos otherwise.

I do really like the talk that happens between Billy and Tatiana. As we know that Billy's betrayal hurt her deeply. Billy was the one who saved her, which again we can see how similar it was to Andy saving Fuuko. Got to give credit to Andy recognizing that and doing everything he could to cheer Tatiana up. Considering she is Fuuko's friend. Though, as expected, Billy's answer to coming back to the Union was a no. Though, Billy leaving is what pushed Tatiana, Chikara and Top to push themselves to get stronger and prove him wrong. With Under, Billy has a tool of the strongest working with him. For the better amount of both Union and Under, it is better if Billy doesn't come back for now. Though got to love his recent fight with Andy living inside him, as his copy of Undead so that Andy can also get a shot at Spring, which gets Fuuko to the core.

As both sides are drinking sake with Spring. We get more of the flashback between Spring and the first Isshin. What this really shows that humans and UMAs can coexist. Hell, we see spring learning how to talk to Isshin and their relationship is sweet to see. Although with UMAs they are simply a pawn for God. Sadly, at this point, they don't want to hurt the ones they fear. But the beauty of Spring is something we as people need. As the game ends for Fuuko her Unluck pays off as she wins, as we get a farewell to Spring. This whole arc was great as this shows the growth of Fuuko as she managed how to improve her Unluck so that she wasn't reliant on Andy.

Though, the rest of the volume went at a crazy pacing to finish it off. First we have Fuuko getting stabbed by Unruin. The only guess is like how Andy can't die, for Unruin is being able to ruin his dream. Which I assume why Andy wasn't capable of killing him. Though with Fuuko on her way to death, we get Juiz and Billy cooperating, with Juiz making a deal with Luna to send Andy and Fuuko 1 week in the future. This just adds to the point from before, what else could Juiz be hiding? Then, before they meet in time, we see Andy seeing a figure in white. Is that Luna? Then we have the addition of UMA Ghost, which is what Juiz said they needed to avoid Fuuko's death. However, Fuuko gets kidnapped by the big ghost and we once again see Unruin. It is clear that Fuuko dying it is in both his and God's plans. Unlike the Union which seeks out to kill God, Unruin seems to want to fulfill God's desires.

To make matters worse, the earth is heading towards the sun. Revolution hasn't been added, but killing 3 of the 4 seasons has put the earth out of wack, and now Earth is heading for the Sun. Though, with the perception of time also out of wack, you just wonder what is going to happen next? Though, the fact that Andy was able to touch Fuuko and receiving her Unluck is reason enough to have hope.

As I have read the first 20 volumes, and it is right up there with Dark Gathering as my favorite Supernatural series. Volume 0 includes the first 3 chapters of what can be considered the prototype of the story. Hanako is not too different. Nene is less the pure innocent heroine and rather feels more crazy and twisted. Kou is more so what would have happened if he never trusted Hanako. It is cool to see how these characters evolved in what we got for the actual main series. It is also interesting the direction these chapters take. The ending here has Nene saying goodbye to Hanako. Curious if this is how the main series will go as well?

Volume 0 also included AidaIro's one shot, "My Dear Living Dead". This is a fantastic one-shot and the twist at the end was soul crushing. Man :mjcry: :wow:. Just like with Hanako the character writing, even just in the one-shot is strong.

As Andy says farewell to the Union for now, it is reasonable to understand why is going off on his own. Fuuko is his motivation, and Fuuko dying was a crushing blow. Though there is the indication she can still be brought back thanks to the addition of UMA Ghost. Given that he couldn't protect Fuuko you can understand why he wouldn't want the others to come along. Got to love Juiz's decision to respect him, but be confident in him and Fuuko making it back. Interesting the bike that Nico gives to Andy uses his blood and thanks to Isshin the bike is also unbreakable. It is also interesting how Under's path changes. Billy is still with Undecrease and Tella. Though some of the others are roaming out on their own. Though it is clear that Latla really cares for Fuuko since she is with the Union alongside Bunny. It is a surprise Rip is not with them.

As we reunite with Andy, he saves a young girl named Lucy, and in many ways this feels like a restart to how the series began. It is clear that Lucy has a bigger role than Andy will realize. Still, Andy is in a different mindset. Back at the beginning of the series, he was just looking to die, but here he is doing anything to bring Fuuko back. Even his death doesn't scare him, not that scared him before. As we know, different UMAs are responsible for different rules that are added. Though, seeing Andy killing them and the rules for thirst and insects being gone quickly. It is just like Juiz pointed that killing Fuuko is what caused this reaction out of Andy. Ruin killed Fuuko for God's sake; however, you could argue a worse situation is at hand for God.

Now regulations are being used by God. The first is Seal, coming to literally seal Andy. We know Andy's growth in strength has been about him using the rules and seeing how far he can go. Though, Andy ends up triggering Seal, where we see Lucy throwing herself out there to save Andy. No surprise, it doesn't help matters. The most interesting thing is when Lucy gets sealed, we see Seal sneezing. At first, this is weird, since Seal's rules as a UMA shouldn't have it being sick. Though, as we later find out that Lucy is a negator as well. Unhealthy feels like a poke at her condition, but logically, it makes sense why she was always bedridden. Kind of like Isshin this differs then what we get from the other backstories. Much like Isshin this power has always been there, we assume. Though, you can imagine how much effort Lucy's mom had to do. It's no surprise she loves her mother to death. Though because she was so bedridden, her imagination just continued to grow. Which allows her to have an astral form without her really realizing it. Which allows both of them to escape in their Astral form.

One sad thing during his talks with Lucy is when they talk about their dreams. When we finally see Andy in his astral form, he is that of an old man. This symbolizes his dream is to grow old and presumably die. This is not surprising, but showing it this way was very nice.

7B389933-12C9-4211-8A05-92DD41B4A74E.jpg

Unfortunately, Andy isn't able to do much. Though, we see a shot of UMA Ghost appearing before Nico and a woman alongside him. Clearly she and Nico have history and she is dead? As Lucy wishes to save her mom and tries to reason with Ruin, is just sad. Ruin being created by God can't comprehend these types of emotions. He just seeks to make Lucy see how it feels not to have parents. Though a surprise save by Rip and makes me wonder if the plan for him and Latla is to keep an eye on Andy and search for Fuuko respectively. Though it would be surprising for Rip to agree with this.

This series is getting crazier by the volume :damn:

The whole thing with Nico at the end of volume 12 came to light here. Essentially, he betrayed the Union, which has everyone spiraling as things continue to get worsen. Ruin's words practically indicate that the person Nico saw was dear to his heart. Though, the reason Rip is here starts to make more sense and stays consistent with his character. For him, it is to ride Ark, and it makes sense that he is going after Andy as Juiz used her points to move Andy & Fuuko a week forward. Though, Andy and Rip are fighting for the same reason to bring back the ones that they love.

Rip, Latla and Leila were inseparable as we can see in the flashback. Sadly, Leila had a weak heart, which doomed her lifespan. The fact that the unmotivated Rip was willing to go above and beyond in his studying for her just showed how much he loved her. Rip choosing to be a doctor at such a young age and Latla despite the jokes in the present, had 100% accuracy telling the future. But even then, the worst happened because Leila died during the operation. It is clear that is when both Rip and Latla became Negators. Any wound Rip gave couldn't be healed, and Latla could no longer predict the future. This is once again God's way of toying with the lives of the people of this earth. As we return to the present, even if they have Leila they want to save, so does Andy. Him damaging his brain to be able to hold up to Rip demonstrated that. Latla comes to the save of Rip, where she would sacrifice herself if it meant taking down Andy and giving Rip the points to riding Arc for the loop.

Though, the conversation that Andy has with Victor is very interesting. His logic is sound that Unrepair only is targeting Andy and with Lucy around they can switch. We have to remember that Victor believed that Andy and Fuuko could do what him and Juiz couldn't do. But it all starts with what is Andy's version of justice. One thing you have to give Andy credit is that he recognizes that even though he would do anything to bring back Fuuko. Fuuko unlike him, has created so many connections that killing them on his way to save her wouldn't satisfy her. Victor gives Andy the idea of letting Fuuko ride the Ark. Going back to the 101st and final loop would allow Andy the chance to save those that suffered. For Andy, the path was clear to be the villain that can allow Fuuko to ride the Ark. Which is why Andy calls himself the God of death. Then, when him and Fuuko rebuild the Union, he will be the hero that Fuuko needs. No surprise, Rip scoffs at his plan because this is Andy wanting to get the true ending, speaking in JRPG terms. At this point, with Andy's conviction the way it is, there is no way Rip and Latla can go against him. Despite being enemies with both Andy and Fuuko for most of the 100th loop, both Rip and Latla have developed a close bond with them.

As Seal and Ruin head to the Union to deal with the Roundtable, it is good to see the Union is still fighting back. The gas that clearly Nico put out to knock his lab partners is heartbreaking, but he left a mask for his daughter. When Andy finally reunites with Nico, much like his encounter with Rip, it was a battle to save the one they love. Nico essentially made a deal with Ghost, who is clearly on the same side as Ruin, and that deal would allow Nico to see his wife again. At first, the mention of Andy not remembering everything was odd, but it was more so the fact that Nico is unable to forget anything. It seems to be revealed that Nico is Unforgettable. Meaning, everything that has happened since he became a Negator he can't forget. The saddest part, just like with Rip and Tatiana, is that this kicked in when Nico's wife was about to die.

The chapter which gives a great outline of why Nico loved his wife. She was a negator known as Unsleep. Though, for that reason, she was moving and active every chance that she did. Though it is clear, it's because of that is why she and Nico grew closer. The biggest impact she had on Nico was giving him an understanding of the appeal of science. Essentially, science is about discovery, not trying to learn everything. Experiments which aid to that. Though as a woman, beauty was important to Ichico and sometimes the smallest of favors can be huge to another. When Nico was able to reverse the direction of Ichico's bags under her eyes to the top. This points back to the beauty of science because to Ichico this was something she never thought was possible.

Ultimately, Nico worked himself dry, which is what led him to have the bags under his eyes. For him, studying of souls meant for him to be able to stay with his wife for as long as possible. Maybe even make so she is no longer a negator. But that was asking too much. Everything he did was for his wife, but Nico failed to realize that even with his wife dying, he still had his daughter. Much like Andy was with Rip, he empathizes with him, but there is no stopping the pat he is on now.
