At the start of the volume we get a brief overview of Ren. She is basically the best, she was on top of the world, etc. It makes sense why she has this superiority aura. Of course, with Kyouka's ability, she is forced to do Yuki's desires. Fun moment since Yuki is in direct control.

But the big focus of the volume was a focus on the Azuma family. Despite Fubuki being head of the 9th Squad, it is her mother who leads the Azuma family. Essentially, the Azuma family had a competition to determine who is the next head. Himari was basically considered the weak one until she joined the 7th squad. The flashback with Kyouka speaks volumes of Himari's state of mind back then. Being bullied, she lacked the confidence in herself. Working with Kyouka has helped that. In her first fight with Homare it really demonstrates how much she has grown in that time.

It wasn't until her match with Fubuki that we see Fubuki's strength, but also what Himari was capable of. For Fubuki her spear gives her a versatile combat set. She can set the range of it and the spear itself strengths her body. It serves as a good point that how she beat Homare in her last match ineffective here. As her mother Fubuki tried attacking her pride. Which was the 7th Squad. Interesting enough, it awakens Himari to be able to use multiple commander skills back to back at a slight less effective output. That was enough to get her mother on edge. Of course, awakening to such ability would fatigue her. But she made her family proud with how much she has grown.

What really raises Fubuki's character as a caring mother is what she says at the end to her own mother. She gives credit to her strength, but how she created a strained relationship with the branch family has only hurt their relationship. Look at Homare and Himari when they were young as proof. Essentially, for wanting to prioritize rebuilding allows the family to grow stronger together. Although the last page where Kuusetsu is raises some alarms going forward.

Crazy chapter of reveals :whew:

3 big things from this chapter.

Clearly, Moka isn't just a regular human working as a fixer, which, I assume, is the case for Hifumi. But the case of her being a spirit is interesting. Her origins are very interesting. Honestly, her able to move when time being stopped makes more sense.

We learn the tall man is Fuhito Ikaruaga was a former fixer. He is the one responsible for "taking away" Hifumi's family. Potential long-term villain maybe?

Fuhito is in prison. So the fact that he is in two places is disturbing.

It's getting interesting.

Rugby Rumble - Chapter 34

Great chapter to get them the victory. Fitting for Kinzan to provide the last push. Gotta love how well the author explains rugby.
If this ever has a chance of getting animated this match would be crazy. Honestly, one of the better newer weekly Jump+ that is under 50 chapters much like Centuria and Goze Hotaru.

Disrespectful as f*ck. The last chapter did piss me off. I thought Deku/Ochaho was finally going to have their moments, but NO, class A had to be a bunch of cockblockers. Deku probably looked at them like :stopitslime:

The best part of the last chapter in a manga is seeing who hooked up with who. Apparently nobody in this manga is interested in cheeks. Thought my boy Mineta was gonna pull Mt Lady and I wanted to see who was gonna get at Froppy.

They need a proper epilogue.

I don't know when, but somewhere along the way it became very reminiscent of CLAMPs work, which Im a HUGE fan of. I wish it were animated, but I know it would get panned/canned before it got "good".

the current War arc has been both tragic and outstanding. Its crazy knowing we've watched the protagonst grow up. Most stories are static, stretching a story out for however many years while the in story time (barring time skips) lasts about 5 years? Modern masterpiece.

Exactly what the title implies. In a world where there's plenty of heroes and villains, the protagonist is a villain who hunts and kills heroes. But being that a LOT of heroes are no better than the villains, is it really a bad thing? Lots of interesting characters, twists, turns, shifting allegiances, conspiracies, and bloody death and violence. In large amounts. The art can be kinda crude, but it honestly reminds me of The Epic of Gilgamesh in that regard (one of my GOATS). Character and plot carry this story. But it's def one of my favorite current reads. REALLY want it to be animated.... but only if they play the comedic beats in a serious manner.

What can i say? I LOVE lore. Well written world histories and world building. And this story is STEEPED in it. Prolly doesnt need any introduction at this point.

:russ: WHY am I still reading this!? It's been a GREAT ride with a lot of unimaginable high points (some of my favorite high points in manga history) but the author CLEARLY hates working on the book. It's devolved into a bunch of ass-pull moments and feels like you;'re watching poorly booked wrestling. I think we all got too much time invested and just wanna see it through to the end. Which, is hopefully soon.

Isshou Senkin: Its set in the same universe is Kengen Asura/Omega. It follows the story of three women (a dirty cop, a minor yakuza princess and a retired MMA/Underground fighter) who are trying to make a quick buck by starting up their own underground fighting organization. But this is Kengen Universe. that climb is STEEP when youre in a universe with multiple Mishima Zaibatsus. But one day they stumble across a TERRIFYING female fighter.... who just happened to be one of the children who led a terrorist organization in Kengen. Hilarity ensues.

These my weekly must reads at the moment.

This chapter really showcased the character Angvall has. She has always been kind and generous. Staying to take care of TIti even if she was the only survivor. Doing whatever it takes to ensure Julian and the girls escape successfully. I doubt Angvall has much longer, but have to respect the conviction she has here.

This chapter parallels similarities of when he was forced to separate away from Yorshige. Back then, his uncle had to force him to leave. Here with Akiie he tells him to flee to live, but I got convinced for a minute that Tokiyuki was going to get baited by Takauji. It really is a show of how crafty Takauji can get people to do what he wants.

Thank god Tokiyuki was able to run away. Though he still has Takauji chasing him.

Akane-banshi Chapter 121

This chapter really shows how great of a master Shiguma is. She was bitter about what happened to her father. It could have been a revenge story. Instead, she learned to love Rakugo like her father would have waned.

This is a better way for her to get "revenge" on Issho because even if she didn't prove him wrong, what would happen after? Most likely, she would have no passion for Rakugo. It's the point people say to guys who only care about getting their revenge. What happens after you succeed?

Shiguma is a great man for guiding these kids in not only in Rakugo, but also in life.

More so getting the feeling that the prophecy refers to both Asa and Taiyo going down. Hope I am wrong about that. Hardening his heart so it can be used like a family head's heart is actually really cool. But makes sense the rest of his body can't keep it up.

Futuaba really showing how she is a big step above both Kengo and Shinzo. I like the remark she makes that Nii owes her life to Hifumi. Curious who Futaba would need to face to use her true spring blooming.

On another note, sickening on Asa's part to mention Hifumi and Alpha's heart and brain respectively, like they are objects that he can take apart from. Then again, this is a thing we shouldn't be surprised about.

Nagumo really gave Kindaka the bill and dipped. He remembers not telling him about Sakamoto and well we couldn't have this chapter if he cared to clear up a potential misunderstanding. The fact Kindaka out ran the time needed for Shin to use his powers is crazy.
Well, at least the misunderstanding got cleared up in a chapter. Though you get the sense Kindaka doesn't know what he is about to get himself into.

I need them to get to Regis and more importantly the Victoriad. The Victoriad is my favorite moment from any media ever.

The last two pages really got me like :ohhh:

The fight was really well done. Granny had nice tricks for her being able to combine the tail and arm in the fight. But it's clear in terms of dragon folk Neraid got some high potential. Like the strong type that if he learns the right skills would seem impossible to beat. Neraid would have won if they had that rematch, too bad the law caught up to Granny.

The last two pages were really interesting. Adding even more mystery to Neraid and clearly him and Jio's father have a connection that Neraid is unaware of. Yuri Holst has plans for the two of them. Curious what Yuri Holst's motivation.

Started this today and based on the first two pages I thought it was a typical romcom.

Turned out to be a new Deadpool samurai manga
