@tripleaamin I can't even read the post you quoted me. Got the notification, clicked on it and the thread just goes to a post of yours from April 14th
Edit: Now that I made this post I can read your quote .
RE: Heavenly Delusion. Wait 4 more months by that point the current arc would be done and the new one should be starting. And yeah, I had to check this spreadsheet a fan created last year to remember a bunch of shyt, specially Academy characters and the timeline. Click here
I loved this chapter. It kind of symbolizes the man that Henry has become, and his not elegant punch draws parallels to the punch he landed on Swan-Sensei at the beginning of the series, which is much more elegant.
Lately we have been noticing Martha is a badass and the way she protected Henry shows a highlight of that.
But man Henry learning a valuable lessons stick too close to your ideals, and you can forget about the people around you. They won't be waiting forever. For Martha, you can tell he loved him, and she took for granted he would always be having tea waiting for her. Their reunion came when got assigned as teacher, but unfortunately it seems she never got that chance to express her feelings.
Kind of sad their love never came into fruition, but this was a great chapter to highlight both of these great side characters.
Sakomoto Days Chapter 164
Tbh dealing with the Akao situation would be tough enough, but now we have the situation of Asaki has the order hunting down Uzuki, Nagumo and Taro. Though I didn't expect Nagumo to go down as easily.
But man the choreography once Taro becomes slim is smooth and clean AF with the blow he lands on him. But him mentioning that Takamura is stronger than when he was in the order is insane considering his age. I am curious of the motivations of the other order members given this changed circumstance.
Akane-Banshi Chapter 108
This chapter really did highlight that there are fewer Arakawa Shin'uchi since it requires a higher requirement from Issho, but Tooru's expulsion had a major effect. I think I even underestimated how big that event was. No one has attempted the Shin'uchi exam since that happened.
But Akane seems to be prepared for the challenge when her time comes. But for now Maikeru will be the first to attempt it. First things first despite what Akane seems, Maikeru is locked and loaded to give a standout performance. I love his quote when he mentions he wants to give people what they want to see and not what he wants to show. Put the audience first after all they are who you are meant to please in Rakugo. Obviously when he wants to polish his skills he seeks out the audience who would desire his type of Rakugo.
But man his short conversation with Shiguma all that you need to know about his mindset at the moment. I am really excited to see his performance.
The Yozakura Movie night was a nice SoL chapter that sums up Taiyo and Mutsumi's relationship pretty well. As they each continue fighting for each of their happiness and they excepted that life. Also, the bodybuilder chapter was a nice insight on Shinzo. In the sense Shion needs helping to get a part to track the heads and their father. I do like how Shion self reflects and feels guilty enough to pull Shinzo out of the competition. Yes Shinzo has confidence issue compared to Kyouichirou and Futaba. But he is greatly motivated to have his younger siblings depend on him when the time comes.
The main crux of this volume centered around Kyouichirou. I think Gondaira-Sensei did a great job here. Kyouichirou going missing isn't out of the norm, but it is the manner he did so this time that lets them figure out something is wrong. He comes to face his father and the family heads. By using the Someinine from Taiyo he soaked his steel spider to be much more effective. Though the words from Momo to turn back sounds like words a father would say. But when he says you still have time is rather interesting. Does this imply he is at Tsubomi's mercy?
A great highlight on Kyouichirou was done here. The goal as the first child in the family was to protect Mutsumi. But rather in truth she was protecting them. She picked up all of her mothers' responsibilities when she died at such a young age. Mutsumi is tough, but the amount of pressure on her is insane and Kyouichirou simply is playing his part. He destroys each of the former heads with such ease, and you can really see why his strength is touted. But he continues to protect his siblings by pushing them away. He teleports similarly like his father. It's clear his motives are to protect the others, but he isolates himself as a result.
The siblings get into an argument of what they should do. Half saying to go after him and find and the other half saying to cool their heads. Shinzo did a great job at cooling everybody said that either decision is fine, but working separately is the wrong decision. Their family is the foundation of whom they are going off in different directions will make things more tricky for them. Mustumi and all the siblings steady their resolve to find their eldest brother.
As each sibling reflects on their time with Kyouichirou, and it motivates them to proceed forward. Meanwhile for Taiyo, Kyouichirou gave him advice if anything were to happen to him. He would seek out the head of the Spy Association Kai Izumo. Like Rin, he is a former classmate. Kai has skills similar to Shion, but on an even more advanced level it seems. He is able to process and absorb information at such a high level it was too much for him. Luckily Kyouichirou aided him and gave him the unreasonable request of being the head of the Spy Association. It's clear that Kyouichirou hasn't gotten completely off the mark, but it's Taiyo's job to bring him back to the family. And the volume ends with the family locating Kyouichirou, so looks like we will get that confrontation very soon.
Man 132 chapters in and the series keeps getting better.
Now it all makes sense with the whole deal with Kyouichirou. Basically both Momo and the former heads made a trap to catch Kyouichirou. Even though Kyouichirou dealt with the heads in a manner, Tsubomi's blood mixed in the air. It is my assumption that the blood of a non head and Tsubomi at the very least causes a mixed reaction thus we have the poison. So you can understand of him wanting to take off on his own to protect the family.
As Kai mentioned that the one that can save Kyouichirou is Taiyo. In simple terms, it relies on the fact that Taiyo's Cherry Blossoms essentially override the poison ones. It provides a solution for Taiyo to save Kyouichirou. But Kyouichirou is still stubborn. Part of that lies in the fact that Kyouichirou has always protected the whole family and that has been evident since Taiyo joined the family. The worry for Kyouichirou if something like this would happen again, but Taiyo stepping up to hold his own and not rely on Kyouichirou to protect him. This enlists a big step-up Taiyo to emerge from Kyouichirou's shadow and stand on his own to protect Mutsumi. It was a great moment to get Kyouichirou back with them as they become a family again.
One concerning thing is that Kyouichirou mentions that he went up against Momo and the heads that he wasn't their main target. Basically someone or some group is targeting the Yozakuras, and it doesn't matter if it's Tsubomi's group or the current family. Who it could be is rather interesting. Perhaps it is those with ties to the group that wanted Kawashyta to experiment on Tsubomi.
Now the next concerning thing when Momo comes and mentions wanting to be a family again. Now his motivation for everything makes sense to repay the mistake he made when he offered Mutsumi and Rei to Tsubomi. Why he even did that is the real question. His motivations are this and the family is disgusted because the means he did to accomplish his goals. Their mother is dead, and their father isn't the man he was before. He could have returned home and help steer the ship for Mutsumi. But he refused to help Mutsumi, and we saw how much pain she was in when her mother died and Momo ran from the family. Goals that go against the family. Essentially Momo's view on love is twisted and that makes him currently a threat.
When Mustsumi and Taiyo meet up with Momo he tries to act like everything is the same as it was back then. He continues to kill civilians to help resurrect Rei, which terrifies Mutsumi. Taiyo gives her the confidence to speak up to her father. But even with the siblings as reinforcements, their father escapes summoning some monster using the local civilians as fuel. While Kyouichirou and Taiyo go after Momo, the others are left to deal with the monster. Honestly the sad part of everything Momo is doing is the fact is would make Rei herself upset.
Liking what they are doing with this. Less focus on Rudo, but most of the side cast which makes for a really eccentric bunch. Man his introduction with Zanka killed me . He did try to understand Zanka's position which was good but man that smile. Then he defended himself with a plunger and using poop. Well with the boss out of the office at the moment there ain't much Rudo can do. Semiu does go over safety zones and polluted zones. The former being explanatory and the latter being where trash beats are. Rudo initially ended up in No Man's Land, where most people end up dying. Even accounting for the danger without a mask you won't last 15 minutes. Well a normal person at least.
But Rudo gets to tag along with Riyo who is very upbeat and energetic. She volunteers to take Rudo out for an observation field trip. For him to see the ropes he was good. Her vital instrument is scissors. She can basically cut her foes and for use in combat she equips it to her legs. We are introduced to supports and unlike givers they don't have abilities. But they provide support to those with vital instruments like Riyo. The giant beast that Riyo took down seemed to be powered by using something resembling a vital instrument so that is interesting.
Rudo also tags along with Zanka since another Spheriette landed supposedly, but this was a trap to capture Rudo. They are interested to learn more about the Sphere since Rudo is from there, and he was able to survive. Though I doubt at this point he has much useful information. Raiders are a giver that are like bandits basically. They were nothing Zanka couldn't handle, but at the end we see Zanka faced with someone suddenly behind him. Is it that mysterious person that has been following Rudo perhaps?
Deadass Sunraku getting the Fool and being pumped . Well tbh he plays so much trash games he thinks he can overcome any obstacles. Rei really highlights how those trash games highlight Sunraku's skills, he's basically making easy work compared to her progress. Granted some of that can be attributed to running into Lycagon and getting the unique quest and meeting Emul. But his skills as Arthur has pointed out before can't be questioned. We get a little focus on both Katzo and Arthur. For Katzo he is grinding back, but Sunraku is his motivation which is good. But damn him asking for Sunraku and Arthur's help really shows he is desperate. Meanwhile, for Arthur she really wonders if she cares to continue playing. Since Wethermond and Setsuna was her last motivation. But the last message from Setsuna lit a spark in her. Granted she's still going to take advantage whoever she needs to.
As Sunraku meets up with Rust and Mordo they are the same in this game as they are in Nephilim Hollow. Rust losing her temper and Mordo trying to calm her down. So basically the quest's story resolves finding a ghost ship that sank Stude's father. Tho Sunraku forgetting to disband his party has both Rei and Akane back . You do get a nice focus that Rei has been casually playing SLF for her sister's sake, so it's cool for her to do something for herself for a change. As they find the ghost ship and encounter the boss I really like how Sunraku can easily notice this is too easy. The reason becomes apparent that the goal isn't to wipe out the enemy and the boss. But also to protect Stude. Luckily Rei is around, but damn that was close to a failure real quick. .
To make matters worse a bonus unique scenario pops up when the monster Ctarnidd shows up when Akane boards the ghost ship. Who seems to be the level of Lycagon and Wethermond at first glance. I wonder if it required the whole party to board the ghost ship. No surprise there was no hope. But Sunraku ends up alone in the Abyssal Capital, which obviously is tied to the Bonus Unique Scenario. Sunraku finds a shark man who might be a unique NPC. I've to say this makes things even more interesting, but you wonder what the situation is with Emul at the moment.
The rest of the family took care of the monster very quickly. On analysis the key to them seems to be destroying their cores. As Taiyo and Kyouichirou catch up to Momo it becomes pretty evident how powerful Momo is. Though as usual Taiyo's guts being the main thing impressing Momo. Their encounter got interrupted because there was a meeting between Gold Rank spies. Ironically it was because of the actions of the man the family was after. Essentially Momo is making the Yozakura family look bad and there are people who want them removed from the Spy Association. Though Kyouichirou with the comeback that the family will deal with Momo is 3 days is rather bold. They really showcase Kyouichirou and Kei's friendship really well. As both a fellow spy and as friend you can tell Kei cares for him and Kyouichirou values his friendship with Kei.
Momo's comment of being reborn that day is rather concerning. Is he talking about when he brought his wife and daughter to Tsubomi? As Momo goes after the Spy Association HQ with his little brother bombs the Gold Spies + Taiyo immediately head there. The concerning thing is that these things can leech onto people. Effectively works like a virus, which is rather fukked up more than just killing them. But still nothing too difficult, but we get a nice little focus on the two Gold Rank spies Ryu and Shura. Ryu has a special bond with the children who are brought into the organization and in a way they feel like extensionally his children. It really shows his big heart. Meanwhile for Shura, her parents turned her into a killing machine, and ironically they died to their daughter's conquering mindset. Essentially power was most important. Futaba was the one to show her what true heart and granted she was awed by her strength. She might be a little crazy for Futaba, but they have a very sweet friendship.
Kei who was working with Kyouichirou showcases why he is a gold spy as well. Much like Kyouichirou it literally looks like no effort coming from him. The praise coming from Kyouichirou is well deserved by all means. But the volume ends at a twist where when they dealt with all of Momo's bombs it suddenly scatters. As Kyouichirou suspects Momo has another objective. It seems that they leeched on Shinzo and Futaba and altering their personalities. Unlike the other spies who got leeched on whom were basically mindless. It seems these were designed to work on Futaba and Shinzo. Momo decision was to force his children to come back to his side in his name of love. Very curious how they handle this situation with this setback occurring.
Ok best chapter so far for me. We get the bit of the beginning of the ghost "It's a Nice Day For a UFO" is classified 5/5 on the Minakata scale. Given how dangerous 5 are we should have been concerned.
With Jina her suddenly remembering how things happened makes it very likely this ghost tampers with memories. The person not being able to trace what happened until it's too late and the other people once the person has been deleted. Are Fixers are resistant to this clearly. Tho imagining everyone in the world dispersing is terrifying.
So as the reveal of Shinzo and Futaba defending their father, it's quite evident that they were infected given their hair color change. Though their behavior is very much of the same tone minus their feelings for Momo. Momo is using force to get the children on his side, which very much implies he has affected their memories in some fashion. For now the family regroups until they have a plan to take them back.
Before the operation is started we get more detail on two Gold Rank Spies. The first is known as the Cyber Demon Giga, who can be thought of as Shion's rival. Simply Shion needs more power to track Momo, and it is very amusing to see these two get back and forth. Curious what is holding back Shion from being a Gold Rank Spy. This chapter gave a great moment to empathize with Shion's frustration where she doesn't feel as important. She ultimately gets all the praise when it all gets good, but when she messes up she gets treated like a kid. Now part of that is that none of the other family members can do what she does, but at the same time you can understand her frustration. Though Shion got the W against Giga in this round once he exposed who Giga looked like. The other Golden Rank Spy is Kengo's mentor Master Huang. Rei essentially asked Huang to train Kengo and he was her last student. To put point black her teaching lies in disciple and rather crudely since it traumatized Kengo massively. Though it's quite evident why so many of a certain type of students love her.
One thing that we learned with Taiyo's encounter with Momo is that he can be effective against him thanks to his Blooming 10,000 Flowers. Although the issue is beyond this Momo outmatches him, so he needs to be able to adapt. Though simply put Kyouichirou is not the best sparring partner since he is the top spy in a gifted family. Kai on the other hand got his abilities from an accident of all things and is very much understands the normal that Taiyo is. It really shows Kai's character as he understands how to get Taiyo and ease him up to where Kyouichirou wants him to be.
The plan at the moment after they were able to track down Momo is to have the Gold Rank spies establish an escape route while the family tries to bring back Futaba and Shinzo. Kyouichirou given the added responsibility of dealing with their father with all the problems that he caused. Kyouichirou was the first one that Momo taught, and it is quite evident where he learned to be the number 1 spy. But the concern Momo had back then is very real now and makes me wonder if he is also a victim of the group that is targeting the family.
I love Taiyo and Kengo's determination to want to fight Shinzo. After all they know how nice and soft a guy he is. Basically they don't want him to regret the actions that they are doing. One issue is that Nanao's anesthetics is that it is essentially their memories that have been affected. I really like the teamwork that Taiyo and Kengo exhibit. While not along Shinzo to play to his strength that make use of Kengo's disguises very well. The big thing of double disguises for Shinzo and giving Taiyo some Kengo disguises. Effectively they can control the pace and once Shinzo makes a crucial mistake, they can make him pay for it. The big play is Kengo's blooming which is the same as Kawashyta's blooming, which overwrites memories. Hopefully this should be the kicker to get Shinzo to snap out of it.
Holy shyt the twist in the last few chapters was great.
So effectively Momo has been altering Shinzo's memories, but the one memory he kept on was his first blooming. The reason is that he saved Kengo. The point being memories have value as they define us. Now the flashback with Momo saying he has no memories was great foreshadowing of the greater threat looming large. Much like Taiyo & Kengo worked together to get a hold of Shinzo, the same is the case for Shion and Nanao. You essentially had the two geniuses of the Yozakura family against the best in one on one combat. Nanao's biggest strength lies in his adaptability and essentially while he can't beat Futaba the goal was not for Nanao to beat Futaba. Rather Shion to analyze and come up with a plan to put a hold on Futaba. It works because as a child this was a way for Rei to calm down Futaba, but Shion giving that hug to Futaba gives her flashbacks to her mother. Those memories are enough to detain her which is enough so Kyouichirou can go after Momo.
But before Kyouichirou could make his way to Momo, he brought Taiyo along with the rest of the family along with him. We get the reveal that Momo's blooming is dreams. It all makes sense now that Futaba and Shinzo weren't conscious. They were seeking out the dream of them being at peace with their family. Tsubomi's blood being the thing that kept Taiyo from falling into that state as well. But seeing his old family and now the peaceful dream that his new family would desire is a tempting one. But Taiyo knows this is not what they want. The big reveal is that while Kawashyta tried to kill the Asano family, Momo is the one that saved Taiyo's life and Momo is the one he picked to be Mitsumi's future husband. That doesn't take away from their relationship growing up and especially not now, but in the sense Momo was always looking out for Taiyo. Everything Momo has put Taiyo through it was for the ideal family.
As Kyouichirou enters the room like Taiyo he isn't affected by Momo's blooming. Arkune The Goddess Web skill was perfected by Kyouichirou for the families' protection. Momo's miscalculation was that Kyouichirou no longer loved him, but that was untrue. His love for his father never changed, but he understood his purpose of protecting Mutsumi and the family. Kyouichirou was a realist for the happiness of the family compared to Momo who was an idealist on the families' happiness. We also get to see Kyouichirou's blooming finally which is Void. Everything swallowed by his threads is doomed, and the interesting thing is his blooming came really late. But it came at the unfortunate time when Momo took both Rei and Mutsumi to Kawashyta, but Momo left before Kyouichirou could use it and in hindsight it is lucky that was the case since Mutsumi was there.
The twist within all of this is that this was Rei's plan. Her plan is to go after the real enemy for the family. The ones that blank slated Momo and sent him to the family. It is very likely the reason that Tsubomi want Taiyo to kill her because she is being taken advantage of. Someone can use her blood to manipulate the family. But despite everything Momo went through, Rei accepted him and loved him. In fact protected him all this time so that whoever manipulated Tsubomi's actions could no longer mess with him. Despite the consequences of him seeking out this ideal dream that would hurt the family. It makes Momo's character arc in a more sad turn, and it leaves a man who was tortured this whole time. Great determination out of Rei which we have seen the same from Mutsumi at times. Now the big questions are left what does Rei's plan entail, and who is this true enemy?
One moment in this volume that I really like is that Taiyo wants to be like Kyouichirou. While it's true Kyouichirou has brought nothing, but pain. As a spy Kyouichirou has been instrumental in the development of the family. From protecting Mutsumi to the training of each sibling and now Taiyo Kyouichirou has been the source of creation. It is very fitting as a spy Taiyo wants to be like him.
So we finally get some big answers. So saving Momo's blood before Kyouichirou's blooming killed him we meet Asa whom is the creator of the family. In terns of power he was able to neutralize Kyouichirou's void blooming, so it is easy to say he is much stronger than anyone in the family. Things start piling up when Tsubomi shows up at their front door. Things get more concerning that they see assets ready for delivery with their parents and Tsubomi's tank was broken out of. Listing the family as assets clearly tells you everything what Asa views the family. As tools and nothing more than that. They simply are used for the betterment of the world. Clearly Asa is a believer in sacrificing the few for the sake of the majority.
Not the biggest surprise, but a big reveal that Asa is Tsubomi's father. Now everything adds up with her request to Taiyo to kill her. Tsubomi has lived 300 years of misery. He brought pain upon his own daughter since she was a gift from the gods basically. Everything was plotted from him. Momo being sent to marry Rei and Kawashyta's experiments on Tsubomi. Of course Rei discovered this and plotted a rebellion and as of the moment that failed. But the big notice is that now Taiyo and all of their children are fully aware of Asa, which is important.
Though Tsubomi's words they aren't ready is significant because Asa could handle Kyouichirou at his best. In here we get a message from Momo, which is very familiar to the one from Rei at the beginning of the series during the wedding ceremony. Momo and Rei's plan to destroy Asa plan revolves around getting stronger than Asa expects them to when he comes to retrieve them. Momo does know each child's strength more than Asa and that provides a key. Curious if this is enough, or they need something more? Asa's threat being basically a god against the family makes it hard to judge what level they need to be at to be able to best him.

Read through the first 5 chapters after hearing good things about it. Man the first two chapters were just
Really liking how they set up this series for. Easily the best start for a Jump Title since Akane-banshi & Dandadan.
As the family plan gets set in motion a reflection both Mutsumi and Taiyo are given. For Mutsumi we see a flashback of all the guys and Shion checking out the type of person she should marry. But Rei giving her great advice even as a kid have confidence in your decisions because those will be the right ones. The key is confidence. While for Taiyo you see an old video of his mom and Rei talking as both are pregnant. A fond memory to remind him the ideal image of his family. Each sibling has their long term mission and 5 years later Taiyo and Mutsumi have their twins Alpha and Hifumi Yozakura.
The twins are very entertaining. Hifumi is very much of Kyouichiro in the sense of how much she loves Alpha. But of course you have the extreme nature. Meanwhile, at first glance Alpha feels like a combination of Shion and Nanao. They get into fights, but you can tell they love each other. A wanted bounty of the family is put out there and with the twins out and get themselves caught up against a former Gold rank Spy. They have talent and are equivalent to Silver much like Mutsumi's other siblings at their age. Of course a Gold Rank Spy even a former more is intimidating. This was a great opportunity to showcase how much Taiyo has grown. His hardening has grown remarkable where his whole body is a force at any time.
Given what occurred Taiyo and Mutsumi tell them everything about the plan against Asa. Most noticeable Kyouichiro has been watching the twins in the shadow. I assume this was one of the task Momo had for him. In a very Kyouichiro fashion he adores Mutsumi's kids as he made the weapons they used, but they give him the creeps. The ironic part when Kyouichiro ties up Taiyo is that it upsets Alpha. Hifumi being very much like Kyouichiro in terms of obsession for their sibling goes from being friendly to Kyouichiro to hating his guts. Of course Mutsumi knows his threatening of Taiyo is an act like it has always been.
As for the current the academy is their new home, which makes sense with the added protection. Very much like Kyouichiro wanting to protect Mutsumi, we see Hifumi wanting to fight to protect Alpha in a very sweet moment. Kyouichiro mentions for them to join the mission they would need the approval from each family member as they are coming. Which is more than fair. To their demise their parents' approval will most likely be the hardest. Alpha being shy saying he will only help with regard to collecting stamps. But more than likely he wants to be able to stand for himself and be there for his sister in the process. Kyouichiro's comment is the most interesting. They are the first siblings that have potential to be the future house head, but they clearly have talent like the other siblings. It can be a sign of good times to come.
