Honestly, the rushed ending felt similar to Yu Yu Hakusho for me...where I think it's a disappointing ending, but not so bad that it ruins the whole thing. There's just a crazy amount of "you coulda done all of this" skipped over.

Those are my two biggest "wish it woulda kept going" endings in manga...those and Gamaran, but nobody liked Gamaran enough to care besides me

Honest JJK after Shibuya is really disappointing to me because it was amazing. Great character driven series that didn't do the shyt you would see in most Shonen. But after Shibuya it tries to become more story driven and to say its a mess is an understatement. As cool as the big fight it's hard to swallow where the series has gone post Shibuya.

Plus I hear constant complaining about MHA and BC. Well I would be anime only for those because of the insane chapter count lol.

There's prob more examples of issues with landing the ending and overstaying their welcome.

Speaking on Jigo it was one I felt like the anime could have improved the final portion like Bleach is doing with TYBW. But given that it is a side project on mappa's end I got no hope for that. I still need to Watch YYH, but as long as a series can give me an ending I can feel good on I will take it.

FMAB and CSM Pt 1 are the two where I felt like damn I love how they ended those series. (Yes CSM isn't finished but pt 2 feels more like a sequel manga then a continuation if that makes sense.)

I definitely agree about trying to do too much. I think the longer these manga stories run, the more the world has to expand and the tougher it gets to keep everything connected in satisfying ways. That's most obvious in the way power creep hurts a lot of series imo. All my favorite characters are side-characters.

I definitely think it helps to have an ending planned for these stories and stick to it. Idk who needed 400 chapters of Toriko, but I definitely didn't. Plus I have a bunch of manga that would have been better off ending at earlier points. Bleach never gets back to the highs of Aizen; Claymore flops post-time skip (it shoulda been an all-timer, I swear); Yu Yu Hakusho is actually really good right to the end, but the final arc can't live up to the two arcs prior (but to be fair, they're two of the best damned arcs in any manga).

I co-sign CSM and FMAB. Those were two endings done right, especially CSM since it felt like a fitting conclusion but with room to expand. I'd also throw in Akame ga Kiru for a manga that ended in a really nice spot. Beyond that, I'm not sure what the Crows/Worst manga classify as, but they have an easy format to get to a satisfying conclusion (starts with the Freshman war, and concludes when that class graduates).

Great twist here. Miu's was a giant fan of Nico's mom and Nico was the reason her mom retired. The guilt from that kept her from telling Miu the truth and it cost her friendship, which hurt you Miu even more when thinking about it.

For both of these girls there is something for them to learn. Miu to understand what Nico was going through since while she was in pain I can't imagine how Nico felt. For Nico how she should have talked things with her friend.

Aw the sister stopped her. That’s a nice moment for the closest thing she can bond with her. Nice arc for Ayari it gave us a much better understanding of her character.

The Dangers in My Heart Vol 10

Honestly the argument between Anna and Moe felt surprisingly real. On one hand Moe has a point of Anna saying she wants to better herself, but the issue is unlike Serina or Chi Anna holds her emotions on her sleeve. Pretty sure they will makeup, but this was something Anna needed to here as Kyo betters himself with going to the school that he wants, Anna needs to take that same initiative with her goals.

@T-K-G Man as I keep reading Kagurabachi it's like not bad. It's not super generic like Kaiju 8. Story is decent and there some solid foundation with the world building they have done with the enchanted swords. But it just feels like above average at best.

Also art has its issues at times and the fight choreography like in todays chapter is messy. Also add that Chihiro needs a more engaging personality around him. Unless the kid Char develops his skills this is another issue.

I still don't even understand how this manga got memed to be so popular . Well popular outside of Japan at least.

Witch & the Beast Vol 3



So we start with the mission being to hunt a witch. Here we have the corps of the palidan, which is group constructed by the church to hunt and capture the witch. Ashaf and Guidaeu are able to locate the witch and this isn't Guidaeu's witch. Ashaf tried to contain her but he strength of the demon sword makes that impossible. In which he tries persuasion and that fails

Ashaf brings attention that the witch didn't commit the crimes, but even that fails. Matt Cugat who is the Palidans leader was a force that Ashaf interestingly mentions that Guidaeu couldn't beat in her base form. This is mostly due to his pact with the ice elemental. Fight between Guidaeu and Matt ends up being more so how much intensity Guidaeu can keep coming at him. Considering Matt's real fear is the demon sword he makes a move to take a hold of it. But Guidaeu captures it and chucks it away Well that is the leverage she needs for the witch to follow her. Tho Matt eventually captures both of them leaving each powerless.

The demon sword is fukking scary considering the fact that Helga herself isn't very powerful, but the sword has the power to destroy the world . That is no joke.

Ashaf seems to arrive and Matt wants to take care of him by himself telling the others to take Guideau and Helga back to the base. Tho following what he mentioned to Helga, Ashaf brings conjecture into his argument. Saying how could a weak witch be willing to go this far to kill others. For the basic reason that what is in it for her. And he asks Matt do you have any doubt if you have a traitor in company? In a big twist that I did not see coming Lowell stabs Matt in the back with heat since that would beat his ice elemental.

Tracing back to base it seems the demon sword as the ability it seems he is able entice those to want his power. Thus the madness occurs. So it seems pretty likely this is where all the killing came from and since the witch was with the demon sword she was present in each killing making her an easy suspect. Ashaf mentions an underground part of the church known as the executioners. So while the palidans themselves capture witches, the executioners simply kill them.

In the madness at the base Guidaeu makes a last ditched effort to escape with Helga but even that doesn't come to pass. Helga seems to be captured and very likely will be killed by the Executioner. It begs the question how will Guidaeu transform in her particular situation. Plus we got Ashaf having to deal with Lowell who clearly must be an executioner.

Witch and the Beast Vol 4

Some real good shyt here

Got to give credit Ashaf dude knows that you all need to fight those that you need to fight. Matt be fukked, but he can still hold up in a fight and he def wants payback for his honor being torn. But damn that demon hand is kind OD, but being able to control so many people is fukking scary . I was a little confused Helga was able to escape the Executioner's grasp, but it makes sense. Also considering her will was broken at the end of the last volume it makes sense that she was able to snap out of it once she hears and is reminded what the executioners did to her clan. Sadly it was too late as she gets stabbed and the demon sword gets unsealed.

We get a sad flashback of Helga having the sword and running away, truly a miserable sight that she was able to survive. It's funny tho he was obsessed with power, but the executioner wasn't aware what the seal really was for. The sword itself isn't a sword and more like a monster of the name Ashgan. He tries to make more sacrifices, but in the end he could never control the beast.

Guideau and Ashaf plays their trump card and with Matt's elemental summonded to protect the people from dying any further you have a 3 Goliath showdown. The ice elemental does down first and slowly bit by bit Ashgan slowly gains power. The fight comes between the beast the beast and the demon sword. The art is simply .

Helga and the executioner truly will live a life of pain and torture. No surprise them toying with Helga and the Palidans is fukking sickening. We also got some backstory with regards to Helga and Ashagan. Ashgan was sealed away by the head of Helga's clan and was stuck being in the basement. Helga was the one who sympathized for Ashgan. The fact parpt of Ashgan was happy that Helga didn't die showed their was more to this relationship then a Witch sealing a cursed entity.

At the ending we see Ashaf offering Helga protection. Per usual man keeps his connections safe for when the time comes either need each other. But the ending of this volume starts wild. Ashaf gets report that Guideau's witch is in town and at this very moment in contact with Guideau. Next volume is gonna start wildl

Bro Yayoi's plan of shipping the backup Katashiro is so big brain and hilarious. Like the idea at first sounds weird, but then you realize how genius it is. Well to be fair Yayoi-chan has been so calculating, it would have been disappointing if she didn't plan what the enemy would do.

I do recall that the new ability Kei gets when his life is in danger. But curious what actually happened. Could it be possible Kei is unconscious inside the body or he switch with the dude the Eiko thought she ran over. Also Eiko seeing ghosts now is an interesting development.

Now we got a 3 way fight with how this chapter ended. Well this is heating up even more.

Ragna Crimson Vol 11

So here is where we wrap up the Winged Dragon Monarch Arc. Gotta say this volume was Ragna Crimson at its best. It's still bare bones in terms power scaling since that is so loosely defined. But man you see the constant character motivations and the intensity of them and who they are fighting for is so great.

At the beginning we see Nebulim's farewell to Elder and it seems he is on a rampage against both Golem and Chimera. Which interrupts Crimson's sure victory against Ultimata. But we see the power that hid with Chimera's tail. The one who has been by Crimson's side the longest. It seems that world collapse is a very insanely powerful ability. Crimson and Ultimata were able to escape but now it seems both Chimera, tail and Elder were gone finally.

A new character appeared in "The Massacre Dragon" Gileza. She is basically Death Dragon and is one that majority of foes could never hope to beat. But she is the source of motivation for Kamui to beat and overcome. He seeks out worthy foes because of his goal to finally beating her. It's been obvious since the beginning but Ragna's powers are mostly over the top bullshyt . Basically he taps more and more into his future selves power. He fought with this strongest move a twice the power faster then sound, faster then lightning and faster then light. Tho the irony with Kamui being a thunder God/Dragon him losing in a battle of speed since that was one faciet that himself claimed himself to be the strongest.

His backstory with him and Ultimata is really sweet. Unsurprinsgly he is a MAJOR a$$hole. But seeing her heal her fellow compatriots and being disgusted by it. Ultimata simply was someone who lived her life to save others, but finally she choose the option to save herself. But Kamui was dying so she decided to save him. Thus putting him in her debt and servitude within her bloodline. While these are two antagonists you are grown to hate there is a level of respect where you understand where each of them came from to reach this point.

And that pain of Kamui dying was what finally is what triggered Ultimata to finally use her powers again. But it was too late for her. The one surviving dragon twin kills her. I love the hesitation she felt when she realizes if Ultimata rewinds time everyone in this fight will be back. And the pain as she went through with it. It was the right decision as there is no guarantee Ultimata would go down. But man the pain for her was deep

Ultimata had a bunch of scourges that she wanted them to learn to mourn and look out for themselves. Unfortunately as a consequence they all went mad. It has been said before that the form the dragon God varies. For Ultimata it was one of the little scourges that she looked after. It's hard to say what the dragon God is but the fact it can change its form like that is super manipulative. And no surprise once Ultimata ran her uses the Dragon God abandoned her.

At the end we see very few of Starlia's people still remained. 3 left, but she managed to survive in the end. Its said it wasn't poison by chemicals. Did Starlia broke through to Zoro? Its a nice touching farewell gift he offers to the Princess since he couldn't protect his own princess. This is a long arc, but gives a solid conclusion to it.

Witch Enforcer Ch. 4

This series feels really promising. Shouldn't be too surprised beating Nine wouldn't be easy. She literally can win just from pure arcane energy is kind of insane consider Ms. Nat is strong on her own right. Elli's power got used but even that tool up their sleeve wasn't enough. It does seem like Elli will be the difference maker it's just you don't want to push him too far.

Nine being a kid makes it interesting in the sense. Is she evil? I can't say for sure. She wants a friend, but the manner she is doing it is so cruel. Like a kid she is only looking at it from her pov, but she has no attachment for the people she ends up cursing.

Love the art as well. Each chapter has been really good so far imo.

Just started Soloist of the Prison (or Soloist in a Cage) based on seeing some striking artwork. The world is dark as hell, but the MC and her goals got me ready to binge this ish (it seems like a short read). They do some really dope stuff with the panel layouts too.

Soloist in a Cage (Ori no Naka no Soloist) by Shiro Moriya is a sci-fi, action drama starring a determined young lady named Chloe, who is forced to care for her baby brother in a prison city. As she tries to escape, she accidentally drops him. Years later, Chloe returns to the prison to find her brother.
