There's been a couple times when I had a mtg and I set my alarm to go off 5 min before the mtg starts. :pachaha::wow:

Roll over rub the crust out my eyes, talk to myself for a few min to get the croak out my voice, pee and get on the phone :pachaha::wow:

I need to stop this. I keep going like this and when everything does open up again, imma have a culture shock like :picard:

Developing all these bad habits in quarantine:wow:

:deadrose: Breh this was me in 2011. You are walking that thin line. lol. Be careful with that because I promise you they can see your performance dwindling.

So you think a companies are still going pay the same wages for employees to work strictly at home? Especially since they know that you aren’t as productive at home as you are at work? Nor are you having to commute to the city or wherever you work.

If you think that’s the case, then I don’t know what to tell you lol. Where the job is located plays a major part in how the salary is determined if you didn’t know :mjlol:

Wages aren't based on the company's fixed costs, they're based on the market. Doesn't matter what they want to do - they can't. You drop your wages in a competitive industry, and other businesses will hire the best people and you'll just rot.

People have been doing remote work for decades in Software Development/Analytics/Supply Chain/Operations roles. They get paid well because of the value they bring, not because the company is thinking about transportation costs. That would be fukking dumb.

COVID-19 has changed the game especially in the job market. People are moving out of big cities and in the country. Companies are NOT going to want to NEW YORK wages if you're not commuting their office and are working from home. You're either going have to take a reduce in pay or you are getting laid off breh. That's what the homie @Wildhundreds was alluding to in his original post. Those paycuts that people took to keep and save their jobs are about to be permanent.

If you don't think that jobs can/will be easily replaceable in this current job market, then you just haven't been paying attention.

My goddamn self. Shout out to my real Africans
How do you end up in fields like this?

I'm curious to hear how people end up in positions that aren't "widely advertised". Is it kind of a segment of human resources?

Once upon a time I was an elected politician and I wanted to know how to get black men into the construction and manufacturing trades so I created a program that did that.

When I left the cesspool of elected politics, I dabbled as a political consultant and lobbyist and then transitioned into this work.

So since the lockdown, most of our office people have been working from home and today one of them dropped in at work which we got us talking and I’m not gonna lie, shyt had me heated.

He starts work at 9am, but gets out of bed at around 8:30am, has a quick breakfast before working. Meanwhile since my commute is 1 and a half hours, I get up at 5:45am, shower, breakfast and leave the house in the dark rainy weather :stopitslime:

On top of all this, this shyt is like a pay rise for these folks cos I spend thousands a year on public transportation, food at work, clothes etc, whilst they pretty much save all their money on that shyt whilst earning the same money. This is some bullshyt :mjcry:

Not gonna lie, shyt has me looking at other career options where I can also wfh cos these nikkas really have it made.
So @J.V Koba and @director_of_bands are the same poster.

And I got the proof.

Who cares about your job when you are a racist cac who uses the n-word?

I love it personally . I do just as buddy does . Wake up about 40 mins before . Eat /shower etc ...

I even get up & hit the gym if I dont want to go that night.
The amount of money I’ve saved on commutes /eating out . Covid has me in the best shape as I have more time to meal prep & get everything right.

And ya boy just got a raise too :blessed:

The Governor of TN is completely that certain cities and county governments have too much control when it comes to COVID-19 restrictions. So I'm assuming at some point in the next few months that capacity will be increased. Even then, I don't think a lot of companies want the problem of dealing with a potential COVID-19 outbreak. We've already 3 outbreaks because of co-workers specifically not following the mask mandate outside of work :francis:
Breh she had 2 co-workers die during this. One killed herself bc of depression and one died from covid. They give them free therapy or counseling now. Being home all the time can drive people crazy if they dont get out. That drive home is more important than people think. Gives you time to decompress.

The drive to/from home work as well as the work office in general gets people away a lot of the problems of what's going on at home. It might actually be the only bit of peace they get on a daily basis. COVID-19 has exacerbated a lot of issues at home that you won't get to hear with kids and parents being at home and not able to confide with their peers.
