What jobs do y'all have that you can just take naps? I work from home, but they put us to WORK.
I work as a product manager at a software company. I've never really had a boss. They gave me and one other guy our own development team and had us develop a new software from scratch. As long as shyt works the corporate bosses don't bother us. As long as the software is stable the support team and customers don't bother us either so it leaves me a lot of freedom during the day.

I’m a sr processor in mortgaging. Once I’m done completing my task I’m done. I’m the only person in my position so I just have to make sure every loan is completed by deadline.

Work from home is :banderas: Been working from home since March.

Get up at 7:25. Make coffee
Log into work at 7:30
Play GTA online or Madden till about 9ish
Take my first mile walk outside.
Eventually get to work around 1015
At noon take another mile walk
After the walk grab some food and log out for lunch
After I log back in I will work until about 2:30
Take my last mile walk
Play madden until 4 and then log out

This is not counting going to doctors appts, etc on the clock

The biggest finesse is that I approached my job about working from home before COVID and I got a hard fast no. I asked them again two months ago and they gave me perm work from home:lolbron:

Now I’m moving out of state at the end of the month :mjlol:

I am supposed to start work around 8am.
I open my laptop at 7:30am.
I have my screen set to never turn off or sleep.
I have an app that automatically clicks my mouse to keep my status active on Jabber.
I setup any thing I need to setup. And respond to any emails.
Have it set on my phone to ring when I get an IM or email

Then I go back to sleep and wake up around 10:30ish to "work" which consists of me finessing tasks, watching Netflix, running errands on the clock and eating.

I can't believe they are paying me for this shiit

Or possible dealing with the prospect of dealing with a permanent paycut or else. A lot of companies aren’t going to keep paying employees the same wages if they are not traveling into the office.

this is a lie lol. They will as long as the market commands that price. If you're in a competitive industry and try this might as well start selling everything because you'll be going out of business.

Y’all train?
in my department you have to already have some mortgaging experience and work for the bank. It’s been internal hires since I’ve been here. Next year when it gets busy they are going to hire temps to assist.

we are hiring but of course it’s for call center position and project manager positions.

So you think a companies are still going pay the same wages for employees to work strictly at home? Especially since they know that you aren’t as productive at home as you are at work? Nor are you having to commute to the city or wherever you work.

If you think that’s the case, then I don’t know what to tell you lol. Where the job is located plays a major part in how the salary is determined if you didn’t know :mjlol:

I was never an office person anyway, but I could never even dream of going back to one after lockdown. Just too many benefits to mention: The luxury of working from home, saving money on travel and food, not having to go outside in bad weather and stuck in traffic both ways or cramped up on the bus and train, working while dressed any old way, being able to cook, not missing deliveries, going to the gym earlier, doctor and dentist appointments, having a chick bring her laptop so she can 'work' too while you fukk half the time lol :lolbron: etc....

Sometimes I go out in the field which I don't mind. As long as I'm not tied down to some office desk for nine hours a day and have my freedom, I'm good.
