Its really hard to say.... will say Avengers is more linear and straight forward while this one does a lot of jumping back and fortb to fill in gaps... which I like that approach better instead of the whole "sit there and watch a story we already know unfold" again ala Spidy & other reboots.
The disaster and carnage was bigger in this movie. There was no campy shyt and not a strong emphasis on creating a love story that a lot of super hero movies always do.
The villain waa a bit more vicious and straight foward and brutal.
Really, I think its a toss up on which is better

This is starting to look like a "hood classic".
Panned by the critics, but loved by the everyday, common folk.
I'm getting that Transformers 1 vibe.I remember looking at the tomatometer when that shyt first dropped and thinking "Man they fukked up

They kinda changed a few things around about his origins and character but I think most of it was necessary to modernize the character.

So i guess this is how nikkas imagine it would be if a superman level villain and his brigade of superman level friends attacked earth. Aint no time for all that fancy talking. Got to deal with that threat. Disgust at fukkboys hipster fakkits. Too much action. Who raised yall. 
So basically they're on par with one another but leaning more toward Man of Steel in terms of action and more toward Avengers for story.
