You mean sellout :comeon:...i cant stand you morons saying c00n without knowing the meaning

And yeah, that was the only out of charactor thing i found. Superman wouldnt denounce his kryptonian heritage...he even typically tries to work things out with kod before they clash...but imo allthis stuff is a footnote to what i still think is an A movie.

c00n/Sellout, nikka/****** whatever man

it isn't really an A movie it was whatever

At least the older superman movies gave the general public in the movies a reason to like superman, In this movie he caused everything and he basically destroyed Smallville and Metropolis. He brought more harm than good in this flick

People who don't get why this movie get criticized probably know nothing about Superman. That's not a diss because you can't expect everybody to know the source material, but this movie has so many out-of-character moments (for multiple characters) it's ridiculous.

It's clear to me that Goyer and Snyder were so caught up in making Superman 'cool' that they couldn't bother to remain true to the character (or his legacy) one bit.

There have been many different iterations of superman that went further away than this...outside of the line about krypton, i dont see any problem with how they portrayed him, and i know superman. Supermans no killing stance is much more in relation to humanity, and isnt as unbreakable as batmans no guns rule which has been broken like once ever, IN CANON, when he shot darkseid in final crisis.

I mean...it's Superman's fault that his parents sent him to Earth and caused Zod to come looking for him? :dahell:

And better he destroy two cities than allow the entire world to die right?

sounds to me like you just WANT to dislike Superman in this movie

Just got back from seeing Man of Steel 3D. I only went because I had a free ticket. Was very surprised by how good this movie is. Never been a Superman fan and this is the first medium (TV, Cartoon, Comic, Movie, etc) that has ever made me care about Superman.

It's how they chose to write the story that is being criticized. I'm not looking at the characters for what the are in a literal sense. they way the chose to portray the characters left too much open for interpretation. I think both Snyder and Nolan are too smart for their own good and their story tell just comes off as :mindblown: @ times. Instead of keeping shyt simple they try to hard to make it some deep meaning shyt.

to each their own...I didn't get all that from the movie

I just know I enjoyed the hell out of it and I liked this take of Superman better than all the other Superman adaptations that I've watched

this was the first live action version of Superman that really felt powerful...I always felt the other versions came across as toned down and I didn't like that

I'm not trying to hate on him I'm just saying the script was weak and again its his fault if he wasn't on Earth Zod wouldn't even go there. U need to stop thinking like a stan and look at this normally

yes...calling someone a stan...fantastic debate work...bravo :aicmon:

as for the rest of your point...I disagree...I didn't think the script was the greatest thing...but far from weak...and I still don't understand how you can view it as his fault and not assign that blame to his parents...that's just silly

In all fairness to the whole " bu bu but he's Superman, he isn't supposed to leave cities damaged and people killed in battle" comments.

1st off, they did say this was a real take on what it would be like if there really was a Superman in our world, the. Past versions it was unreal for him to just be everywhere all the time strategically. Not gonna go any further with that but y'all should get that

2nd, this was his 1st battle ever, of course he's not gonna be as seasoned of a warrior as he is in later editions of the Superman we are familiar with who has had thousands of battles.

People please remember this isn't Superman 5 or 6, this is a reboot

Anyone disappointed that there was no "kneel before Zod" reference and did anyone think about the Incredibles "no cape!" scene when Zod was swinging Supes by his cape?
