Anyone disappointed that there was no "kneel before Zod" reference and did anyone think about the Incredibles "no cape!" scene when Zod was swinging Supes by his cape?

If Zod were to have demanded Superman kneel before him, I think most Kiddies would Immediately think of Loki in The Avengers..Old School Fans would get it No Question, would have been Great to see. Too Bad he's Dead now though, we'll never get to Witness that Moment.

The first hour of the movie was some bullshyt excuse for drama. Everything was flat. No interesting characters or dialogue. Just boring origin story garbage.

The big action finale was so long and drawn out. There were a few cool moments but barely any kind of spark to it. Just dull action. Things blowing up, people getting punched. My eyes glazed over halfway through.

Just a poor movie. Super dumb and forgetful.

"In third place, Man of Steel added an estimated $41.2 million. That's off 65 percent from last weekend—68 percent if you roll in grosses from the Thursday ahead of opening day. The 65 percent decline is worse than The Incredible Hulk (60 percent) and only slightly better than notoriously front-loaded comic book movie Green Lantern (66 percent), which is not a flattering comparison. Still, at $210 million it's already topped the final tally of Superman Returns ($200 million); if the bleeding slows down next weekend, the movie could still ultimately wind up with over $300 million."

That is a skewed comparison because it doesn't take into account what movies came out the week after Incredible Hulk and Green Lantern.
The week after Incredible Hulk came out the big releases were the Get Smart movie and The Love Guru (both really bad movies that no one was looking forward to); the week after Green Lantern came out the big releases were Cars 2 ((reasonable that this would be a hit) and Bad Teacher (no one expected that to be a big hit at all).
Man of Steel was competing with Monsters University and World War Z and it still took in more money at the box office than Hulk and GL against stiffer competition.

"With a $39.2 mil debut, Get Smart came in right around most projections and gave all of its main stars — Carell, Anne Hathaway, and Dwayne Johnson — the biggest bow of their careers as lead actors. (Yes, it is bigger than The Scorpion King!) The film is now the second No. 1 movie of the summer to be adapted from a television show, following Sex and the City; after Carrie & Co.'s flick, it's also the second-biggest live-action comedy opener of 2008. Credit broad appeal (the spy spoof earned a decent B+ CinemaScore grade from an audience that was divided equally between men and women and skewed 60-40 toward older people), decent reviews, and the ever-increasing appeal of its stars. With two weeks before Will Smith's Hancock premieres, Get Smart should keep strong"

Sometimes I wonder what's wrong with you niccas arguing a plot's logic about a 74 year old comic book character that flies around wearing spandex and defying logic with his every move. Are you f**king serious? Just enjoy the movie or stick to non-fiction.

Cop out excuse

I have no problems with movies being totally illogical so long as that's their premise, but they sold this film as Superman really existing in OUR world today. You can't sell a film as being 'realistic' then do a 180 on it, that's when problems arise. The "alien with super powers" aspect is the fantasy part, the rest was supposed to grounded.

Your point makes no sense at all, try again.
 He makes clear sense.
Are you the type to dislike other universally loved movies?

Godfather =meh too long
Forrest Gump= bullshyt unrealistic
Alien= The crew was too dumb!
Reservoir dogs= Where's the actual robbery footage?
The shinning= pssshhhh the book was superior
Saving Private Ryan= pointless exercise in futility

Are you like Jay in the film This is the end?

I like all the films you listed, I don't see what point you are trying to make?
