Cop out excuse

I have no problems with movies being totally illogical so long as that's their premise, but they sold this film as Superman really existing in OUR world today. You can't sell a film as being 'realistic' then do a 180 on it, that's when problems arise. The "alien with super powers" aspect is the fantasy part, the rest was supposed to grounded.

I didn't see the trailers advertising this movie as a realistic version of superman. Sounds like the sequel will be more grounded for you with supes working a 9 to 5 and going out on dates and shyt. This movie for me, was sold on being a visual feast and amazing action with of course the back story. I thought it delivered.

I like all the films you listed, I don't see what point you are trying to make?

What I'm trying to say is I bet there's some person out in the world, and when they watch those movies the meaning behind the film never hits them. So they find a minor thing that they don't like and present that one aspect as the reason the movie is trash.

Goyer and Snyder have both stated this film was to be grounded in reality. I'm not looking towards a sequel that has yet to be made.

There are some dumb ass nikkas in this world. Man of Steel still has a great shot at doing $300M domestic and that will probably make it the second highest grossing film all year. That does not factor in what the worldwide numbers are doing. Also, the studio made over $160M in product placements so a lot of the budget was already paid for prior to its release. Lastly, this is an origins film. Comic book sequels usually do higher numbers.

Why would you use that example to reply to anything I have said? I don't think most of the complaints (dialogue, poor pacing, heavy handed action, weak script) are minor complaints

:ehh: I see what you're saying, but I still disagree. I liked both superman's pops giving him real life advice, the heavy handed action made me wish for an equivalent DBZ action oriented film.

I like that superman represents a supernatural messiah figure we all could look up to.

"You can save her! You can save all of them" :wow:

We might not be able to save people but we can help. You can help her (whoever her is to you). You can help all of them (all your friends and family)

I never thought Dark Knight Rises would beat out Avengers. I don't know what kind of DC vs. Marvel agenda you are trying to push here because I am a fan of both.

Anyway, sequels always gross higher than the origins film. Everyone knows this.
