My gf's little brother (who's 14 now) dipped out of wrestling 4 years ago :laff:. You'd be surprised at how common that is.

this was common when we were kids in the '90s as well.

its common in every era.

yall looking thru a small scope with rose-tinted glasses.

This is false. I’m not looking through any rose tinted lenses at all. What you’re saying is literally the opposite of what’s happened

its 100% true.

youre just basing your outlook on you and your circle of buddies.

tons of people i know who watched wrestling as young kids, were already OFF OF THAT in the midst of the monday night wars era. if i had a dollar for everytime somebody said "YOU STILL WATCH THAT!!??", i'd be filthy rich.

its natural progression in any era. wrestling is something that half of its viewers grow out of, and the other half grows up with it.

and i prolly wouldve grew out of it myself if i didnt catch the workrate bug at an early age and appreciate the art & athleticism - thanks in large to WCW and eventually ECW.

Kids aren't even into the product.

Exactly this is what some of these dudes aren't understanding lol.

even if this were true, what does that have to do with ME and the thread title?? i would definitelty be into this if i was a kid.
i didnt make this thread to argue about the children of today. it sounds more like YALL arent really into wrestling and wouldnt be watching at all if you were kids.

and AGAIN, i dont know whay yall keep acting like kids arent visibly at these shows screaming their lungs out.

sure, its not as popular with kids as it was in previous years but i dont know why yall keep lumping kids into a small bubble as if theyre all into the same stuff.....the same 2 or 3 things at that.
every kid isnt checking for tik-tok or fortnite. LOL. and the ones that are, have other interests besides those 2 or 3 things thats listed in here.

All I'm going to say is the demos are widely available we know who's watching.

how come they dont know that im watching?? my demo isnt recorded. those are estimates.

i prefer the eye test. yall saying no kids are watching but you can clearly see kids at the shows.

again, im sure the numbers are definitely down with the kids but yall are acting like theres NO kids watching this chit at all. thats the part im arguing about, and i keep putting it in bolded letters. but yall continue to dance around this and i have no clue why.

i never said wrestling is a big rave with kids today. i dont know why dudes like @Elim Garak are arguing me down about it, or what that has to do with the thread.

then somebody tried to tell me i would be playing fortnite or on tik-tok. stuff that wouldnt have even been in my lane.

These kids really don't care about wrestling these days. They just care about fortnite and social media. Wrestling has a demographic and the more they realize who that demographic is, the better business will be.

You would not watch because there is no boom.
Nor gateway movie product to introduce you into wrasslin.

The only reason wrasslin even came on was because of rocky iii.
Those old fans created boom.
For rhe rocknwrassli ln era.
Then additonally,... for the gen x kids and the attitude era boom as well.

Which if you were a kid now.
Would be to far removed of a gateway to interest you if you were a kid now. Plus their is no prevalent subculture to produce edgy kids. To create added fandom.
that you were reared in.
by proxy because of the second boom.
you were socialized and reared in as well.

My niece and nephews couldn't be bottered to sit down and watch a full episode of Raw or Smackdown they'll catch 5 - mins if someone they care about is on but that is it. They would much rather make ticktoks, watch YouTube, or play videogames especially during the school year.

I think they would enjoy hitting up a live event but asking them to sit down and watch 3-8hrs a week is something that's not gonna happen unless they dramatically change their production of their shows.
