not a marky kid-kid.

moreso at that age when i became a smark, circa 5th grade,

i'd be living it up. i know WWE marks who think wrestling is dying wouldnt understand. but this is for those that do.

same thing goes for sports. kids that are into these things dont know how good they have it.

Eh... I feel like becoming a smark is why so many old wrestling fans are so bitter and analytical now, lol... I don't even think some of em have enough self awareness to realize they enjoyed this shyt a lot more when they didn't know or give a fukk about what's goin on backstage, who's getting "buried", etc. But now that they do care about all that, they spend a lot of time complaining about anything they can. I've seen mark-ass kids handle their favorite wrestler losing better than some of these 30+ year old MFs that know it's just a show.:heh:

I'd like to be a kid and just watch wrestling from that perspective, or I'd actually like to know a kid who watches now and see what their perspective is on it.

you dont have to do all that to be a smark.

theres levels to this.

i initally became a smark, just off Apter mags and watching everything, regardless of logos. if it wasnt for that, i wouldve gave up wrestling by 4th-5th grade, just like most other people that see wrestling as a childhood fad. no way i wouldve made it thru if i was just watching the WWF in late 93-95 and was a marky mark.

If you were a current kid, you may not even fukk with wrestling right now :russ: current kids have been dipping out of wrestling for years, it just doesn’t hook them like it hooked us at the same point.

what time period are you talking about in the bolded?? i dont think me & you were kids in the same era.

new kids become wrestling fans everyday. theyre the ones generating the industry.

And miss the Attitude Era.
ECW and WCW.
Rise of Austin and Rock.
Smackdown 6.
Prime Kobe and Jordan’s last 3 peat.

i wasnt saying i was trying to trade childhoods. more like go into a time machine. but since your brought it up:

i really dont care for most of the attitude era. really just the last year & a half of it, circa when smackdown came out. and alot of people didnt really view that as part of the attitude era.

i was around for both 3-peats. the NBA is better now than it was in the '90s.
the '90s was the expansion era. most teams were weak. the bulls were the only stacked squad. thats why they had those 3-peats. not just because of jordan.
college hoops was more fun back then. i wouldnt trade that in.

kobe has become criminally overrated these last few years. he was great but more in an iverson/T-Mac sort of way. people running around now trying to compare him to jordan & lebron, need to sit down.

really i wasnt a kid during any of this stuff except prime ECW, WCW and the bulls.
i dont really consider the other stuff to be part of my childhood except the 1st half of the attitude era which im certainly not taking over today's wrestling. i was a teen for the half of the attitude era that i really liked.

shoot, i was an adult thru the smackdown 6 and prime kobe.

All the people complaining about wrestling now in their 20s and 30s are gonna run into people in 10 years who will tell you this era was lit for them.

I thought the New Generation era was fun as a kid and it sucked for people older than me. My generation started not to watch after 2001-2003 with attitude era/WCW gone/ Austin/Rock gone and Triple H and Batista and Cena overemphasized and the bad weird McMahon Ruthless Agression angles and yet I see people online who love that era for the Hardys Smackdown Six and those corny storylines.

I can already see things from the past 10 years that people will remember fondly even though they were complaining about it in realtime

Just look at video games...you know kids are going to grow up with hologram games, mine's content with being more comfortable with a tablet than I'll ever be, and I'm thankful to grow up in an era where we had cartridges.

Before that, there was Atari. Arcades in their heyday.

The closest thing to feeling like a kid now? Making time for yourself to not give a fukk.

Go to a show, or buy one, find a wrestling fan you'd actually share a beer or a blunt with.

Embrace what gives you joy. We only live once.
