Spend more time reading then you do watching the show brehs
Gotta get your subtitle reading game up. You don't actually focus so hard on reading them that you ignore everything else on the screen. It's more of a peripheral vision type of thing. The size should be decent to where you just look at the screen normally.

Just to clear it up for everybody..

Subtitles are when its a the movie is ina foreign language and the "words" are your native language
Closed Caption is when both are the same language..

But yes.. i turn them on a lot.... it helps especially when somebody mumbles something or if the volumes get low...

Thought it was more
Subtitles - words for all the *spoken things* the actors/actresses say
Closed Captions - Every sound in the movie which includes *doorbell rings* *music is playing*

You're correct.. the general thoughts are what I said but the actually definition is what you said...

Subtitles are for those who can hear and Captions are for those who can't (to a degree .. doesnt mean total deaf)

:dead: i thought it was just me

I started doing this when i was like 14 when i got tv in my room for the first time. Id be watching movies all night, stuff a towel under the door to block the light from shining out and have the volume low so I wouldnt get caught. Having the subtitles made sure I wouldnt miss any dialogue.

Then I got addicted to using it all the time. I remember girls would come over and first theyd complain like :wtf: then they got used to it and loved it and did it in their own time. Remember theyd be like :lupe: i got my whole fam hooked on watching movies like thus.

The best is sometimes the subs pick up background dialogue that you would never really hear otherwise.

These excuses for leaving subtitles on are :mjlol:

But I won't lie I keep subtitles on for certain reasons.. But my reasons are my shytty sound system, I have no clue why DVD and Netflix the sound from the TV is so fukking low. I need to hook up my surround sound again.. been lazy.

And my daughter used to be a light sleeper. So she would wake up every time there was gun firing , explosions, crap like that. So I constantly had to turn the volume up and down. Got tired of it.
