Up to and including Central Intelligence, I have never seen a Kevin Hart movie (or at least one where he's on the poster/the lead)

It's hard, because when you're black and you say you don't like Kevin Hart people (at least on here) automatically assume you're hating, which is why I tend to stay out of KH threads, but I honestly haven't found him funny since I'm a Grown Little Man. He's very one (or two) note, and like a lot of black stuff (sorry) I can't imagine more than 2 drafts of his scripts exist.

Kevin is a comedian I place in a category of comedy that I don't rate whatsoever - comedy that's funny because it's said/spoken in a funny way, rather than comedy that's actually written funny. Kev isn't the only one of this type, but right now he's the poster child. If you transcribed his jokes or memeable moments, he actually isn't saying anything funny, he's just saying unfunny things in a funny way.

I don't begrudge him his success, and I'm glad we have him, but I treat him like I do other comedic presences I don't care for (your Josh Gads, your Amy Schumers) - I pretend he doesn't exist.



EDIT: That's a lie, I did watch the last 40/50% of Get Hard with my fam, and we just spent the hour clowning how bad it was.

I watched that Central Intelligence bullshyt. Well, tried to watch it. The movie was so that I got up and left in the middle of it (shout out to @track 1 ). I seriously got up from my seat, and excused myself past about 15 people to get out of the movie theater after seeing that garbage.
This dude has become nothing more than a better paid Marlon Wayans

Crazy thing is, I WANTED Kevin Hart to be successful. He's from my city. He did the local comedy circuit, same one that I have done, and my friends have done. But once he blew up he didn't show us any love. We started a petition a few years ago to have Kevin do a show or two at one of the local clubs here in Philly that helped LAUNCH HIS CAREER and he didn't do it.

But i brushed that off. I get it, you made it. Do your thing.

But after Think Like a Man and now this horrible garbage Central Intelligence...fukk Kevin Hart. You sold ya soul my nikka. You a shell of a human being now. Enjoy that Hollywood buttfukkin. Soon as you stop shuckin and jivin, they gonna be like Kevin who?

And that's not to take a single thing away from him. Kev is an incredible performer. Kat Williams aside (who I'm not the hugest fan of but respect), I don't think there's a single better comedian at commanding the stage and performing material, but gifs aside and saying things loudly or in a shriek, is Kev that funny?

Dave, Rock, Burr, O'Neal, C.K. etc. can sell their comedy as CDs, on iTunes or as vinyl and you wouldn't hesitate to listen to what they have to say.

Could you listen to a Kev performance? I don't know, I doubt it. It's not the whole part of the performance, but at least to me, it's the most important part.

I like my comedians who say funny things, not comedians who say random, mediocre or sometimes unfunny things in a funny way.

But like I said I'm glad we have him. Eventually someone is gonna walk through the doors he's breaking down and deliver something truly great. Who knows, it might be him one day.

Yes they get just as much "hate" as Kev.

Just read a review of one of their movies. White people are just as fed up with their repetitiveness and shtick as some black people are with Kevin's.

There still is a difference in the type of hate actors like Sandler get vs. ones like Kevin Hart tho that is on the racial tip tho. For actors like Sandler and other white actors/comedians/etc. who do things for the money (i.e. selling out) only have that moniker alone to deal with, whereas with someone like Kevin hart and any other black actor/comedian/etc. have that and the selling out your whole race thing too, which automatically weighs the hate level higher and thus the standard we hold them to as well. Part of it is cuz doing anything for the money angle when it comes to blacks typically involves borderline or overt, over-the-line c00nish antics, sentiments and mindstates on and off-set, if not done outright, then at least within a matter perception, socially. No matter what any individual white person does, it's hardly a factor for them to uphold the status of their entire race with what they do, nor the opposite of letting them down either. It's just another misfortune side of things with being black. You know we gotta fly when they can just walk. Just is what it is.
