I don't think Kevin Hart is that funny either, but I'm not mad at him for striking while the iron is hot. If them white folks are gonna keep greenlighting these big budget movies for him, why should he turn it down? It's your fault if you keep paying to go to see these type of movies and expectating them to be good.

Kevin Hart movies are automatic Redbox movies for me

Eddie, Chris Rock, Martin, Hart even lower tier guys like Ced the Entertainer etc. All these guys combined don't have 5 classic movies between them, their always a disppointment given their comedic talents.

But they did what they had to do in that spot.

Whether you make good or bad films, one day nobody will care about you, so might as well get your money if they're offering.

I can name 5 classics by him off too. Trading Places, Life, Beverly Hills Cop 1&2, Coming to America, 48 Hours, etc. Some good to great comedians never make classic or even good movies but don't try to put Eddie in that category.

Name me some comedies you see as classics since you say Martin has none.

What that tells me is Eddie secured his legacy then decided to secure his bank account so his kids could have whatever and he could have a lifestyle.

Then he still managed to drop the occasional classic like Life and put in a great performance in Dreamgirls.

Crazy thing is, I WANTED Kevin Hart to be successful. He's from my city. He did the local comedy circuit, same one that I have done, and my friends have done. But once he blew up he didn't show us any love. We started a petition a few years ago to have Kevin do a show or two at one of the local clubs here in Philly that helped LAUNCH HIS CAREER and he didn't do it.

Once I got to the bolded, I knew this wasn't just simple critique.

The thing I hate; black actors are held to a standard that we've gotta make Oscar worthy movies every time out or we're "selling out" or "being raped by Hollywood."

Samberg aint got no hardcore supporters and he's not heralded as the top comedian like Kevin Hart is. They are both middle of the pack and should be treated as such.. That Popstar flick was avg...couple laughs but Walk Hard is 10000000x better.
