On pg 432 now....damn the epilogue is a long chapter(not that I'm complaining)...fabulous book I can see me rereading this multiple times....

Speaking of books have you read the one assata wrote while in cuba that's very popular? I haven't but been thinking about it for a while

No, I haven't, but it looks like a good one that I will pick up. Currently, I'm reading on the Moors..."The Story of the Moors in Spain." Which will be followed by "The Moors After Spain." Admittedly, I only know the basics of the Moors and am getting that up to par.

I have a list of books that I plan on reading and the list keeps getting longer as I read more and watch more lectures.

He was killed by the NOI though. There are interviews with the man while he was alive where out of his own mouth he said the NOI was gunning for him.

I agree with you that the FBI was involved in some way, or at least knew it was going down. Either way, I'm sure a lot of folks in Government were happy with the result. I just take issue that the NOI didn't plan it or wished for it. They did. Malcolm knew and he spoke about it. He knew it was coming and who it would be coming from. It only adds more evidence when you have excerpts of Farrakhan basically bragging about it. I think this is important. Whether some here like it or don't like it, Malcolm was transitioning to a new phase in his life. They seem to ignore this new phase solely to hold up his earlier time with the NOI, the same group that eventually killed him.

I'm from Maryland, I did all that X learning in Silver Spring. Montgomery County got some of the best schools in the country but they mostly white as hell, so I was lucky to live in the blackest, most diverse city in the area. I learned about X when I was younger, but my dreadlock having sista was the one that made us read his book in junior year. My kids gon be hip to X now so I don't gotta worry about the school doing it.

Edit: Major co-sign on that Moors comment at the beginning of your post. Black folk get it twisted when it comes to the Moors imo.

Went to the place he was killed last year they've turned part of it into a memorial/education center. Standing next to the statue and seeing the actual boards from the stage.

I had general knowledge on him but went deeper with the autobiography and there's a YouTube channel with tons of footage.
