Agree with him wholeheartedly. I remember a time in hiphop where it wasn't used 1000x a song. And I had to learn to accept it in a lot of the acts that I've liked - Wu, Nas, etc. Even Mos Def and Black Thought. But I just had parents that raised me a different way, so it's never been a part of my every day vocabulary. I still perform, and do a lot of hip hop karaoke (I've done shows in BK in front of like 500 people) and I always edit it out of every song that has it. I'm actually cool w Method Man's sister, and we duet on songs occasionally and she feels the same way and also edits it out.

This era is like it just went out of control. I can't even listen to NBA podcasts because now NBA players say it freely. Obviously it's worse to me when non blacks use it, but I've grown to hate hearing it period.

I like "They Not Like Us" due to the savaging of Drake but cringe at how a song that's being played in white weddings and all that has it so much.

Yep, plus would make it a lot easier for your music to be used in movies/tv, and in public at live sporting events and other venues etc. I think even Lupe for a few years now, has been cursing way more in his music than he used to. I respect Meth because he's chilled on that, and peeps didn't even notice because his pen still so sharp.

Dancehall reggae is also suffering, because the current music is far too vulgar.
a lot of music period has OD'd on the vulgar. It does show a lack of creativity at times.

I agree

that's the thing, if your pen game is nice people won't even notice that you don't curse. Like Rakim for example, he didn't curse in his prime and I never noticed until someone pointed it out. I didn't hear Rakim curse until 2000bc with Canibus

speaking of Canibus, he was so lyrical if he didn't curse I wouldn't have cared either
