I feel the same. Also with player's familiarity with Michael/Kobe, and a general knowledge of the triangle (if ANY of these guys even remotely studied or watched game film growing up, it's exponentially less hard to grasp). Not to mention the assistant coaches being brought in, Fisher being THE perfect coach (understands the triangle, multiple rings, floor general & was JUST a player last year -- making for a better bond/respect with current players) for Phil to work with & implement this...As well as the general RESPECT, tight ship, and "I don't wanna be the weak link" mentality that MUST come with working for legends, I think "learning the triangle" isn't exactly as tough as "learning the triangle" should/would be for these guys. The way I see it, after the debacle that was the last 3 or 4 seasons, players can probably FEEL the ship trying to be righted, and I really think it'll translate to a better effort when watching film, being coached, practicing, working out, and executing during games.

We've also got something in Phil & Fish we never really had with our previous 2 coaches, and that's someone who can actually COACH and draw up plays on the fly, for tight-game situations, which in itself, can add a NUMBER of W's in the win column. The changes being made are so encompassing of every aspect of this organization, that only a fakkit would disagree. SO many intangible, underrated, and sublime aspects of Knicks basketball are BOUND to be changed or improved, and if nothing else, our players will be playing to win. Show me a player who wouldn't seize the opportunity, and would be okay with letting Phil Jackson down, and I'll show you one who hasn't made it to the league and probably never will.

Cats can talk stats, talent, ability, and shyt ON PAPER all day, I'm not disputing NONE of that. But this "culture change" is in full effect right now, and what I'm alluding to is just that. #KNICKSTAPE, you either all the way in, or all the way out, motherfukker. Don't come running back on some :patrice: "See I knew they had it in em all along" shyt, when things finally start clicking :comeon: :pacspit:

A lot has been made about them getting used to a new system. My take on that is that the coaching staff should get them up to speed a lot faster than if it were a system they never ran like in Jason Kidd's case when he started coaching. I also don't think they have to "master" it to come out of a weak East. Thoughts?[/QUOTE]
Thanks for keeping the thread popping , that offseason FA arguments for pages about tanking burned me out .
Yeah I think a lot oh people that are so negative in their perceptions don't think about how weak the east is . I'm not sure why some of the question marks that teams like Washington could have isn't discussed . Yeah we won 37games last year but we definitely weren't as bad as we seemed so I can see a rejuvenated Melo leading us to the division

Basically. i said that since day 1, that whoever Phil hired was going to be his coaching puppet.

How is helping someone the same thing as being a "puppet"? Do you believe these coaches were not already on the same page as Phil? If not, they're puppets. Do you think they would want to work under him if they weren't? If so, they're puppets. Didn't these coaches already try to teach the Triangle elsewhere? If not, they're puppets. Haven't a number of them (including Kerr) said they wanted to join Phil before they actually did? If not, they're puppets. You seem to be letting the media (the most unprofessional "reporters") think for you, as they were the first to put that "puppet" narrative out there in order to tell everyone how to think and what to feel; that's what they do.

Yeah man. Last season alone, I think I'd need more than 2 hands to count the amount of losses that came as a result of ridiculous coaching (or lack of coaching) choices, absurd lineup choices, just flat out dumb shyt. There was so much dumb shyt, it just reminds me of that gif of the Knicks playing awful defense then the camera zooms in on Melo on the bench just :what::snoop:.

That basically summed up the whole season to me.

:whoa: on the name-calling, my dude. I just think the media is real slick with their brainwashing, so we gotta be careful. I avoid a lot of it (not just in sports), so that I don't get caught up. I work really hard at that because I despise people trying to tell me how to think and what to feel.

People in here talking about "These guys grew up watching MJ/Kobe so the Triangle will be easy to run." :mjlol:

It's all whatever, but the Triangle is widely considered one of the harder systems to teach/grasp. That doesn't mean it can't be done, it has... and it will be.... but THAT is going to be the struggle this year, finding out who can run it, who knows where to be, and who does not. That's what this season is, essentially.... grooming Fish, and seeing who can function in this offense.

What The f*ck???

If you check back in the thread, I've BEEN saying that whoever Jax picked for the hc was going to be a puppet in the sense of running the team & offense as Jax wants it. Well the hell does the media brainwashing have to do with anything? And I haven't seen that narrative in the media, so miss me with bs.

:whoa: I meant no harm. My fault if I came off like I was comin' at ya neck; I wasn't. You may mean this as a good thing for the team. However, I just want to know where you're coming from. I know you've been saying that for a while. Doesn't mean you have never seen that narrative about any given person in the media. It has been in the media for ages. If you made it up, then you're speaking as if you know Phil and his coaching staff. How do you know they will be "puppets"? What evidence do you have? Again, do you believe these coaches were not already on the same page as Phil beforehand? If not, they're puppets. Do you think they would want to work under him if they weren't already on the same page as him beforehand? If so, they're puppets. Didn't these coaches already try to teach the Triangle elsewhere? If not, they're puppets. Haven't a number of them (including Kerr) said they wanted to join Phil before they actually did? If not, they're puppets. Considering the details surrounding these coaches, it doesn't seem anything like puppetry. How is helping someone the same thing as being a "puppet"?
