Yeah, that quote seems kind of odd. But as I said before, I doubt Melo bounces. He only as a few realistic options. Miss me with that he'll join Miami nonsense.

If he were to leave, I hope he goes to Miami. That would instantaneously rejuvenate this franchise and create a legit hated rival. Something we haven't really had since the Pacers or the Mourning Heat.

This roster isn't the Bucks without Melo.

:what: Why would you want the best team in the league to get better? Rejuvenate? Nobody cares about a rivalry, we just want to win.

Because I think it would be good for the Knicks. You think Boston regrets losing out on A-rod?

how the f*ck would the knicks be fortunate to lose melo? :rudy:

all these sh*tty contracts on the knicks and NOW you wanna start counting pennies when it comes time to sign one of the top 3 scorers in the league?

if you can get him for less, great. if you can't then ante up. ya'll in here buggin the f*ck out man, knicks better pay this man his money.

I see it differently

Melo taking a kobe Max is ridiculous, dude isn't kobe
Second He's been saying "money isn't a issue so" Phil was like prove it

Anyhow I look at it like the knicks finally have someone who understands how the cap works in sports. You can't overpay guys and expect to win you usually have to underpay them to have piece to put around them. Its up to Melo on what he wants to do. The Bulls, and Rocket series shows that neither team is a legit championship contender minus Melo.

MELO said he would take less money if that helped bring in players for NEXT year...if we lose Melo who are we replacing him with? This is a superstar league and always has been when you look at the the rosters of all the Teams that have on ships damn near all of them have had at least on Star, if Melo is gonna take less we gonna have to have something in motion for next season and build off that

If he leaves, we tank in a year that has decent draft prospects and have extra cap flexibility for 2015 and beyond, Doesn't seem like too bad of a situation to me:manny: Whether Melo leaves or stays, I think Phil can make the most out of either scenario and turn it into success for the Knicks, so I'm not sweating Melo's decision too much.

a good PG, a serviceable big man, and a strong, competent coaching staff and the knicks are right there in the championship hunt. the east is wide open.

or the knicks can let melo walk and go back to re-building for 3+ years.

stat is already getting 23 million next year, but yall don't wanna pay melo? :stopitslime: ya'll are wildin.

I'm not saying that shyt would be ideal but its not the knicks choice its Melo's choice. On top of that you can't overpay players and expect to win it all. Basketball is a team sport, you need talent throughout the roster. These last few years the knicks have disproportionate cap wise and have sucked for it. Melo take a few million rebate could help that rebuild.

listen fam i'm with all that. if the knicks can sign melo for less, do it. but if melo calls phil's bluff and is about to walk then knicks gotta pay up.

ya'll acting like the knicks need to overhaul the entire roster and melo's contract won't let them do that. when in reality they only need a few small pieces, the biggest piece by far being the coach. that should be phil's #1 concern, not playing contract chicken with melo through the media.

and did i mention stat is making $23 MILLION next year? and tyson $14 million? and bargs $12 million?

but yall wanna run melo's pockets :shaq2:
