Melo taking orders from bum ass cac Steve Kerr :mjlol:

Steve Kerr and Derek Fisher are OK in my book..... Dudes were both cold blooded as fukk come playoff time. That's what the Knicks need more clutch performances from their role players who want to win just as much as the star player. Far too often guys come here to get a pay check and party (JR Smith). It looks like Phil is getting a team of guys who know how to win and follow his triangle philosophy. Anyhow there a lot of positions on the FO open right now. Phil might get both.

Anyhow I really like this move, after the unload some players to the boondocks this off season trust me everyone will be playing like they don't want to go to Milwaukee from now on.

i would take d fish as a coach over steve kerr every day of the f*cking week...

why? I've hated Kerr for years because of his knick-hating analysis and lebron dikk riding but I think its clear that he's the best option for the job.

i think d fish has just as much basketball knowledge as steve kerr, but will command more respect from the players. i can see the players listening to him, i cant see the players listening to kerr. he comes off as corny and soft and we have a team full of hood dudes, he can't relate. and with this particular knicks team they not only need a coach with solid x and o's, but they need a coach who can manage the personalities.

im still going to reserve judgement though, gotta give him a fair shot.

Na I think all that hood, corny cac shyt is for the birds. Woodson is more "hood" and relatable to young black players than somebody like thibs, who's the better coach? Woodson was rocking knickstape skullies last year, where did that get him? Van Gundy was one of the stiffest, corniest coaches ever but he managed different ego types just fine, from the docile houston to the volatile sprewell.

Kerr was around the greatest player of all time and the greatest coach of all time, surrounded by different types of personalities his whole career, always played his position, and has the rings to show for it. Fisher has the rings too but he's not on Kerr's level, imo. I think it's clear that Phil feels the same way, but I guess we'll see. I think *some* people just want Fisher over Kerr because he's black. I find that unfortunate and stupid.

it's less about the "hood/cac" stuff than the fact i think Fish has every ounce of bball knowledge kerr has, and is also a better leader with a more assertive personality.

and he'll also be able to relate to the players better, which will translate to better play on the court (hopefully).

Kerr certainly has a track record for being around great basketball minds, which is why i said im reserving judgement until i see some results.

and i laid out clear reasons why i think d fish is a better choice for coach and none of them had to do with him being black.

Well I apologize if I misinterpreted what you said, but I figured that the fact that you brought up the "hood" factor and how that would affect Kerr's ability to relate to the players had at least a little something to do with race.

The reality is that nobody knows who would relate better with the players between Fisher and Kerr. My logical assumption is that since a lot of these guys grew up idolizing Mike they may actually listen to someone who actually played and won multiple titles with him along with a cosign from the guy who coached them.

2. Berman also hears that the new coach "will be encouraged by the organization" to give the just-fired Herb Williams a new job. You were supposed to butt out, Dolan.

I think Fisher's leadership and trust he'd gain from the players should be well in question considering his work as NBPA and him working hand in hand with Billy Hunter while the players got fukked during the last lockout :ld:

I actually think one of the benefits of phil being there is whoever the next coach is wont have to manage personalities as much. Whoever is hired will have the support of :smugzen:, and I don't think he'll put up with the nonsense that we've gotten used to.
