Grits not even a southern thing anymore. I can’t count how many new black restaurants opening that have shrimp and grits, grit cakes, salmon croquettes and shrimp etc. Cook some grits and add some turkey bacon pieces, a garlic cream type sauce, green onions/scallions, mushrooms, tomatoes, with a side of garlic toast and tell me it’s not fire. Majority of folks who aren’t cacs and hate grits just never had good ones before. Grits is one of those simple dishes on paper but not everyone can make them. It’s easy as hell to fukk up grits
