The way that shyt was looking out in the gulf when the MB dropped so low and gained 100+ mph winds in 24 hours which is very unheard of, it was no surprise motherfukkers panicked more and anticipated bigger impact.

You never know with these things. Luckily it shifted south and didn't cut thru Tampa Bay or just north of it. Most of the storm surge i think was to the south. The damage that was done I'm sure was bad tho not as bad as if it would've hit Tampa worse, especially the bay and downtown and surrounding areas. Not only for the residents but economic impact to the area. All that money that could've been lost from severe damage to the popular tourist areas would've been bad.

Unfortunately we can't accurately predict what a storm may do but just be thankful when it doesn't do as much damage as expected. Better to say you lived thru a hurricane even if the damage to the property is severe than not make it at all. You can replace a home, but not a life.

This is the first hurricane I've ever experienced, I basically got caught down here in the middle of this bullsh*t. I came in this thread a few times and it was death and destruction coming to Tampa. Social media was even worse. Couldn't sleep Monday and Tuesday night. Stopped checking this thread and the local news too. Stayed inside, my pops took care of everything else, made sure safety procedures were followed, we woke up this morning and the worst was a plastic fence that got mangled up. Smh.
You made it, welcome to Florida :blessed:

That looks fake

The joke is it’s a real building that is mocked up to look upside down in Orlando. Wonder Works. It’s a museum/arcade/ fun center

We over here with Milton and apparently Kirk was targeting the European fukkers. :ohhh:

Looked like it ended up being a tropical storm but still crazy to see. Gotta be a rare occurrence.

@RammerJammer gonna have to extend his coverage to that part of the world if they gonna be getting storms too. :francis:

Tampa didn’t dodge anything. It still hit. Just it weakened earlier than usual. But the Coli will get their bloodlust eventually.
No Tampa absolutely dodged the bullet. The fear was that the eye of Milton was heading directly to Tampa Bay and that everything south of the eye, like St. Pete and South Tampa would get the entire Bay flushed into it. It wouldn’t matter if it was a category 3 or 5, that surge would have put the Bay Area under 10 to 15 feet of water.

But the storm landed 50 miles south of Tampa around Sarasota, which resulted in a negative storm surge in the Bay (the water literally got sucked out of the Bay and went south of the eye).

It has nothing to do with the storm making landfall as a category 3 as that was the forecast all along.

Tampa has continued to defy the odds as they still haven’t had a direct hit in 100 years. But the day a major hurricane does go right into the bay will be catastrophic.

50 miles was the difference this time between Tampa having a negative storm surge and South Tampa being under water.

Portugal got hit by Hurricane Vince in 2005

That’s pretty rare

Been bored out of my mind these past two days. Listening to offline Spotify on my backup phone these past two days. That and daydreaming, reflecting on life, taking trips down memory lane, etc :leostare:
