The way that shyt was looking out in the gulf when the MB dropped so low and gained 100+ mph winds in 24 hours which is very unheard of, it was no surprise motherfukkers panicked more and anticipated bigger impact.
You never know with these things. Luckily it shifted south and didn't cut thru Tampa Bay or just north of it. Most of the storm surge i think was to the south. The damage that was done I'm sure was bad tho not as bad as if it would've hit Tampa worse, especially the bay and downtown and surrounding areas. Not only for the residents but economic impact to the area. All that money that could've been lost from severe damage to the popular tourist areas would've been bad.
Unfortunately we can't accurately predict what a storm may do but just be thankful when it doesn't do as much damage as expected. Better to say you lived thru a hurricane even if the damage to the property is severe than not make it at all. You can replace a home, but not a life.
