How I know some people are miserable in their life when they label a hurricane "overhyped".

More people and animals could've died or lost their shyt. STFU.

Ya'll are so fukking weird.
It's a no-win battle. It reminds me of vaccines or social distancing. When people follow it and it works at minimizing deaths the outcry becomes "see it was all overhyped, not that many people ended up dying". They refuse to take into account that if people weren't warned and didn't evacuate or take precatuions the damage could've been so much worse

I see both sides, on one hand the hysteria probably fukked some people up having to pack up and relocate but on the other hand its better to be safe than sorry :yeshrug:

And like someone else said, people are gonna feel like the media were gassing it and might not take it seriously next time

Yup. Same folks who probably want countries to shoot nukes at each other.

Same cats who have fantasies about stopping an active shooter, but too shook to sign up for the military when the opportunity came up.

Just weird people who are all talk.

This country got a lead on other countries because we brace for the worst. If it didn't and it wrecks us, people around the country pay the price for it and we got to spend resources fixing that. We were in a total shyt show for years now because of how bad Covid was handled.

The fear monger aspect will cause people not to take next one as serious. People will start thinking meteorologist are full of shyt
I asked one of the neighbors here if they were going to board up the windows, and I got a loud "NAH", he told me they used to do that in the 80s and 90s but they stopped because over time the storms wouldn't do much damage. "We would board up the entire house and nothing would happen, it was more work than necessary." Most of them even left their cars out in the driveway.

My rental in Ybor is good. The neighbor next door called my Wife.
:whew:
No power though. I don't know if they have an eta. A lot of Hillsborough county doesn't have power.
:beli:
Pasco county does though. It is more inland.

So then what do you suppose they do?

Not say anything and people die or warn people and let them decide? There isnt as much damage because they told them it could be bad, so people prepared for it.

There is no winning with anyone. What would you like for them to do?
